Emilymv (Emilymv), Friday, 22 October 2004 14:05 (twenty-one years ago)

oops, bombarded.

Emilymv (Emilymv), Friday, 22 October 2004 14:05 (twenty-one years ago)

The funny thing is a friend of a friend recently revealed himself to be none other than the ex-husband of Ms. Coulter's sister, Beth. Apparently he realized the dread mistake he was making.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Friday, 22 October 2004 14:09 (twenty-one years ago)

whoa! how did the sisters compare?

Emilymv (Emilymv), Friday, 22 October 2004 14:20 (twenty-one years ago)

i'm so proud of my town right now.

J.D. (Justyn Dillingham), Friday, 22 October 2004 14:21 (twenty-one years ago)

Too bad they weren't concrete and twisted metal pies.

Michael White (Hereward), Friday, 22 October 2004 14:23 (twenty-one years ago)

if i'd been there i would have tried to drop an anvil on her.

J.D. (Justyn Dillingham), Friday, 22 October 2004 14:26 (twenty-one years ago)

'Ann Coulter' - The Warner Bros. cartoon.

Michael White (Hereward), Friday, 22 October 2004 14:28 (twenty-one years ago)

They should have just thrown a bucket of water on her so she would melt.

Leon Czolgosz (Nicole), Friday, 22 October 2004 14:28 (twenty-one years ago)

whoa! how did the sisters compare?

I'm honestly afraid to ask.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Friday, 22 October 2004 14:28 (twenty-one years ago)

It's times like this, Ned, where the expression, "Ignorance is bliss" really starts to make sense.

Michael White (Hereward), Friday, 22 October 2004 14:31 (twenty-one years ago)

Hehe.

Alex in SF (Alex in SF), Friday, 22 October 2004 14:31 (twenty-one years ago)

Take him to a bar and ply him with drink.

k3rry (dymaxia), Friday, 22 October 2004 14:33 (twenty-one years ago)

If he came close to marrying a Coulter, he probably drinks a lot already.

Michael White (Hereward), Friday, 22 October 2004 14:34 (twenty-one years ago)

This story is making me sad, actually. The guys get arrested, the evil one only takes a shot to the shoulder, and THERE'S NO PHOTO!

briania (briania), Friday, 22 October 2004 14:35 (twenty-one years ago)

And probably just inflated her sense of self-importance.

Leon Czolgosz (Nicole), Friday, 22 October 2004 14:37 (twenty-one years ago)

If she doesn't get a full-on pie bukkake, it's just a waste of good custard.

briania (briania), Friday, 22 October 2004 14:41 (twenty-one years ago)

They should have thrown babies at her.

The Ghost of Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Friday, 22 October 2004 14:41 (twenty-one years ago)

And probably just inflated her

Onimo (GerryNemo), Friday, 22 October 2004 14:42 (twenty-one years ago)

"Two Arrested for Hurling Pies at Columnist" The subtitle was omitted curiously - which said, "And subsequently congratulated when it was revealed to be not a columnist at all, but mereley a venomous cunt."

dave225 (Dave225), Friday, 22 October 2004 16:40 (twenty-one years ago)

What kind of pies were they? Were they ricin-creme pies by any chance?

Dale Panopticalis (cprek), Friday, 22 October 2004 16:44 (twenty-one years ago)

My only regret about this otherwise joyous news is that the pies weren't filled with angry hornets.

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Friday, 22 October 2004 16:44 (twenty-one years ago)

If I was God Homey the Clown would appear behind her, announcing that he doesn't play dat and putting that sock full of sand to use.

ALEX IN NYC, YOU ARE MY HERO

Too many things wrong with that book cover.

dave225 (Dave225), Friday, 22 October 2004 17:57 (twenty-one years ago)

is that a leather vest

sometimes i like to pretend i am very small and warm (ex machina), Friday, 22 October 2004 17:57 (twenty-one years ago)

The number 1 thing wrong with that book cover: IT HAS ANN COULTER ON IT.

The Ghost of Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Friday, 22 October 2004 17:58 (twenty-one years ago)

If it had to be actual pies, and not any of the Special Novelty Pies mentioned above, it would have been way cooler if they actually had fed them to her.

Layna Andersen (Layna Andersen), Friday, 22 October 2004 17:58 (twenty-one years ago)

is that a leather vest
-- sometimes i like to pretend i am very small and warm (hot.air.balloo...), October 22nd, 2004.

It is a hard, leather-like exoskeleton that grows as a protective shell over the thorax of the beast in the first year after it emerges from its larval state.

briania (briania), Friday, 22 October 2004 18:01 (twenty-one years ago)

I had assumed it was vinyl for easy clean up after sucking up to various right-wing, corporate interests.

Michael White (Hereward), Friday, 22 October 2004 18:03 (twenty-one years ago)

Freepers all think that she's hot. I'll bet they think that leather vest is really hot.

She's an ugly little freak. It cracks me up how both Rep's and Dem's give her looks the "thumbs up" and yet say Kerry looks like Frankenstein. SHE looks like Frankenstein! With scrawny legs, big ears and a downward-turning blank expression.

I HATE HER, Friday, 22 October 2004 18:27 (twenty-one years ago)

The fact the Coulter looks like The Crypt-Keeper doesn't stop Kerry from looking like Frankenstein's monster.

briania (briania), Friday, 22 October 2004 19:02 (twenty-one years ago)

Okay, never mind, I read the text. As you were.

briania (briania), Friday, 22 October 2004 19:03 (twenty-one years ago)

One of my younger female cousins (currently in college) sees her as her number one role model. She (cousin) has a dream of putting an end to feminism.

Sarah McLusky (coco), Friday, 22 October 2004 19:22 (twenty-one years ago)

Have you considered selling said cousin to hobos?

The Ghost of Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Friday, 22 October 2004 19:23 (twenty-one years ago)

Her parents are really proud of her. When she was 12 she wrote a peice on the importance of courting that ended up on the cover on some big right-wing christian newsletter.

OOH TASTE THE VEILED RACISM COMING FROM THE BLACK MAN ABOUT BLACK MEN.)

Thermo Thinwall (Thermo Thinwall), Thursday, 28 October 2004 23:29 (twenty-one years ago)

but we're getting off topic. Andrea Dworkin is not involved and a compare/contrast is reductive. The question is does Ann Coulter deserve to be taken seriously, is she someone to be admired? of course not. She's a typical "me first" sort of thinker who runs at the first sign of pie and is unwilling or unable to see other viewpoints. And for god's sake, she's a terrible fucking writer too.

Riot Gear! (Gear!), Thursday, 28 October 2004 23:31 (twenty-one years ago)

Lord Custos Epsilon (Lord Custos Epsilon), Thursday, 28 October 2004 23:36 (twenty-one years ago)

Animated porn GIFs woulkd make this thread a microcosm of every ILE argument ever.

Hopefully this will be my final post to this thread and to Roger:

The only thing that Ann Coulter does which is in any way admirable is that she does not run away from confrontation with people who disagree with her (unless of course they have pies, ha). HOWEVER, the positions she is so staunchly defending are abhorrent and repellent, largely because if the country were to follow through on them I would be on the chopping block long before you, Roger, and there's no fucking way I'm going to support or stand behind someone who very clearly has nothing but contempt for me; furthermore, seeing as I'm not a saint, there's no fucking way I'm going to have anything but contempt for her.

Is that clear enough for you?

Thermo Thinwall (Thermo Thinwall), Friday, 29 October 2004 12:59 (twenty-one years ago)

Ann Coulter and Michael Moore are both professional wrestlers of politics. They put on a show for us to cheer or boo, depending on our politics.

Liberals can excoriate Coulter for her excessive slenderness. Conservatives can mock Moore for his excessive fat. I don't really see these approaches as remotely different.
