The classic way is to keep it short and focus on "serious" glasses.

Does Budgie from Siouxsie and the Banshees count as a goth?

― Kevin Gilchrist (Mr Fusion), Thursday, 28 October 2004 21:11 (twenty-one years ago)

I can't remember if it was Johnny Ha-Ha or Yaxi Highrizer of Alien Sex Fiend, but he was blonde.

Does Budgie from Siouxsie and the Banshees count as a goth?

Well, the Banshees did arguably kick the whole thing off.

― Alex in NYC (vassifer), Thursday, 28 October 2004 21:13 (twenty-one years ago)

....granted Budgie wasn't in the band at the time, but still.

You guys are all ex-goths anyway. I only bummed cloves from those types.

I think the real question is: Are there any goths, ANYWHERE, with their natural hair color intact?

James Marsters was interviewed on aust TV recently and he'd grown out his blonde peroxide... he looked really ordinary without it. Also, he was the most nervy, babbly dork I've ever seen on TV. Very jarring. It was like he'd been turned by a fan from some Buffy convention.

― Trayce (trayce), Friday, 29 October 2004 03:35 (twenty-one years ago)

i looked through the pictures and concluded that blonde+goth=wrong. it just doesn't work.

One of my best friends in high school was a blonde goth named J3nnif3r Tyl3r. I think her blondeness helped w/the whole pale/translucent skin thing

― You've Got to Pick Up Every Stitch (tracerhand), Friday, 29 October 2004 12:29 (twenty-one years ago)

i looked through the pictures and concluded that blonde+goth=wrong. it just doesn't work.

...according to you. I think the mere fact that certain members of all the IRREFUTABLY GOTH bands cited are blonde above renders your conclusion moot.

― Alex in NYC (vassifer), Friday, 29 October 2004 23:15 (twenty-one years ago)

― andi, Thursday, 13 September 2007 22:56 (nineteen years ago)

Not that has much directly to do with blondness and goths, but I was looking for a roller disco so I could feel young again and stumbled across GOTHS ON SKATES NIGHT. Oh, JOY! I'll be fixing to go to the next one.

I figure this is relevant to blond goffs because of the seeming incongruity.

― Melinda Mess-injure, Thursday, 13 September 2007 23:36 (nineteen years ago)

ITS RELEVANT TO MY EXISTENCE YES

― gr8080, Thursday, 13 September 2007 23:43 (nineteen years ago)

Danielle Dax===extra hott

If you're naturally xtra pale blond goff kid, it is probably best to leave it blonde: the blak dye/blonde roots makes ugly skunk look, and then they appear to have no eyebrows to boot.

― Abbott, Thursday, 13 September 2007 23:49 (nineteen years ago)

I like how the goths emphasize their unnaturalness or otherworldliness by dying their black, blue, purple, or red. It contrasts dramatically with pale skin.

I have a real peeve with women who dye their locks blonde when their natural coloring is so far from it. The oranginess, dark roots, and mismatch coloring between eyebrows, head hair, and crotch repulses the hell out of me. But for some reason I don't mind it when blond goths go dark. I like their freakish blond eyebrows that don't even look like they're there.

― Melinda Mess-injure, Thursday, 13 September 2007 23:56 (nineteen years ago)

I can never tell if someone is MAD or SURPRISED or SKEPTICAl of me if their eyebrows can only be seen when hit by the sun at a specific angle.

― Abbott, Thursday, 13 September 2007 23:59 (nineteen years ago)

lol @ "Wumpskate"

― Curt1s is coming to Zwinktopia !, Friday, 14 September 2007 01:31 (nineteen years ago)

I know a couple of guys who are rly hottt blonde gothly types. Its really not that uncommon!

I've never done the total blonde thing but I have had brick-red hair with a white blonde fringe before.

― Trayce, Friday, 14 September 2007 02:09 (nineteen years ago)

I wd totally go gothskating also.

― Trayce, Friday, 14 September 2007 02:10 (nineteen years ago)

Okay, now it's relevant! Check out the blonde goth skater girlie on the mainpage of wumpskate.com

She doesn't look especially goth except for wearing all black. I think most blondes look good in black. Who doesn't, though?

She doesn't look especially goth except for wearing all black.

she's also brimming with despair and apathy.

Yes. You can tell by the way she skates.

― The Cursed Return of the Dastardly Thermo Thinwall, Saturday, 15 September 2007 04:00 (nineteen years ago)

actually, i don't dream of blonded goths. :( i just felt like bumping this thread. i just thought blonde goths were a neat idea. i really like the traditional goth girl look, though. but, i think that goth guys usually look ridiculous. i'm kind of a goth guy, but i don't feel any need to express myself through my appearance. i just wear everyday clothes, ya know.

i'm listening to the moon seven times. a lot better than area, i say.
