and all of the men on desperate housewives

anthony, Monday, 1 November 2004 14:35 (twenty years ago)

Humph!

Two-Headed Zombie With No Face (kate), Monday, 1 November 2004 14:38 (twenty years ago)

Natalie Jeremijenko

Dale Panopticalis (cprek), Monday, 1 November 2004 14:41 (twenty years ago)

humph?

anthony, Monday, 1 November 2004 14:42 (twenty years ago)

My friend has a crush on Lindsay Lohan, I've already pointed out she's Malcolm in the Middle with gigantics breasts.

Nellie (nellskies), Monday, 1 November 2004 14:43 (twenty years ago)

So?

Dadaismus (Dada), Monday, 1 November 2004 14:43 (twenty years ago)

I've been banging on about my shameful crush on every other thread imaginable. I don't think I can get away with any more gushing. Or maybe this is just an excuse to post more photos of my crush snogging his junkie boyfriend.

Two-Headed Zombie With No Face (kate), Monday, 1 November 2004 14:44 (twenty years ago)

It is unfortunate. He is TOO YOUNG but in real life I am sure he is of age. I'm sure he must be. He is on TV on Sundays, that's ALL I'm saying.

Starry (hello chickens), Monday, 1 November 2004 14:48 (twenty years ago)

Sir David Frost?

Dadaismus (Dada), Monday, 1 November 2004 14:49 (twenty years ago)

He is CERTAINLY of age! BZZZZT, sorry.

Starry (hello chickens), Monday, 1 November 2004 14:50 (twenty years ago)

That little tearaway kid from Eastenders?

Matt DC (Matt DC), Monday, 1 November 2004 14:50 (twenty years ago)

My friend's ex-girlfriend OH NO!

nickalicious (nickalicious), Monday, 1 November 2004 14:51 (twenty years ago)

Ooof, is he on the OC, Starry? that IS shameful. Or is it one of the boys on Hollyoaks? Oh, how I love Hollyoaks now that they've got a scary paranoid STONER ON DRUGS, OH NO!!! plot going on.

Now I feel very vindicated when i tell people that my Crush of Shame is "just like Hollyoaks but with leather jackets and better drugs!"

Two-Headed Zombie With No Face (kate), Monday, 1 November 2004 14:52 (twenty years ago)

That's who it is I bet the "scary paranoid STONER ON DRUGS, OH NO"

Dadaismus (Dada), Monday, 1 November 2004 14:53 (twenty years ago)

i love that storyline on hollyoaks. it's so 50s! you go from trying a joint to stealing and pawning your family's possessions and dropping out of school.

lauren (laurenp), Monday, 1 November 2004 14:55 (twenty years ago)

If only the SCARY PARANOID STONER ON DRUGS OH NO!! was actually cute, then I'd have a crush on him, but he's got blonde hair and bad eyebrows and looks more like Tory Busted than a druggie.

Two-Headed Zombie With No Face (kate), Monday, 1 November 2004 14:55 (twenty years ago)

My recent shameful crush is his mother, she's HOTT

Dadaismus (Dada), Monday, 1 November 2004 14:56 (twenty years ago)

Matt: that's TOO underage! Also he is very common.

Kate: no not on the OC but on that point oh MY GOD won't Marisa just flipping well EAT something? Her razorshoulderblades are just frightening! He is not on Hollyoaks either. I will point out that he is exclusive to Sunday telly.

Starry (hello chickens), Monday, 1 November 2004 14:56 (twenty years ago)

also, i love black-clad sarcastic girl who mutters things like, "oh, to be in knightsbridge" while moping around the halls insulting everyone.

lauren (laurenp), Monday, 1 November 2004 14:56 (twenty years ago)

(I feel sooo less bad about my terrible addiction to Hollyoaks now... tee hee!)

Two-Headed Zombie With No Face (kate), Monday, 1 November 2004 14:56 (twenty years ago)

i think the world would be a better place if everyone just came clean about hollyoaks obsession.

lauren (laurenp), Monday, 1 November 2004 14:57 (twenty years ago)

Black-Clad sarcastic girl is GRATE!!! She kinda reminds me of a certain ILX0r... hmmmm. (And she's from ISLINGTON, mind you, not Knightsbridge. not that any of your northern peons would understand the difference, humph!)

Two-Headed Zombie With No Face (kate), Monday, 1 November 2004 14:58 (twenty years ago)

she did say that knightsbridge line, though, islington or no.

lauren (laurenp), Monday, 1 November 2004 14:59 (twenty years ago)

please tell me that i'm not arguing about hollyoaks online. right. i'm going to end it all now.

lauren (laurenp), Monday, 1 November 2004 14:59 (twenty years ago)

I like her too but she's about to turn nice-after-all and snog a totally appropriate bloke any minute - it being Holloyoaks after all (xpost)

Dadaismus (Dada), Monday, 1 November 2004 15:00 (twenty years ago)

(I was paraphrasing her, not insulting you, BTW, I nearly choked laughing when she started going on about being from Islington.)

Two-Headed Zombie With No Face (kate), Monday, 1 November 2004 15:00 (twenty years ago)

Yes, riding to Islington on the Knightsbridge line, wasn't it?

Sarcastic-girl's gleeful picking on Lisa WRT her crush on the Craig David lookalike meejah studies tutor = grebt telly, Jason on druuugs = YAWNFEST. Can't they just die in a BOMB? It's worked on other soaps (also TOPICAL hem hem).

Starry (hello chickens), Monday, 1 November 2004 15:01 (twenty years ago)

Isn't the bloke on drugs called Justin not Jason? I would piss myself if he was called Jason.

Two-Headed Zombie With No Face (kate), Monday, 1 November 2004 15:02 (twenty years ago)

Justin, Jason, peonic waste of air, same thing...

Starry (hello chickens), Monday, 1 November 2004 15:03 (twenty years ago)

yay hollyoaks thread derailment!

one thing i've been wondering: is the weather different, maybe tropical, there? it seems to be tube top season all year round.

lauren (laurenp), Monday, 1 November 2004 15:03 (twenty years ago)

you have derailed my thread about obscure canadian hotties (plus boring americans)

anthony, Monday, 1 November 2004 15:04 (twenty years ago)

The thing I don't understand is that only do members of the same family all look totally different from each other (some of them are even different RACES) but they all have different accents too

Dadaismus (Dada), Monday, 1 November 2004 15:05 (twenty years ago)

... I mean in Hollyoaks, not in Canada

Dadaismus (Dada), Monday, 1 November 2004 15:05 (twenty years ago)

No, Lauren, that's just what Northerners are like! You go up Hull or York, and all the lasses are just waltzing about in tube tops of microminis, even when it's below freezing and there's a gale blowing in off the sea! it's mad!

(where is Hollyoaks set, anyway? Chester?)

Two-Headed Zombie With No Face (kate), Monday, 1 November 2004 15:06 (twenty years ago)

(Sorry, Anthony, it's all Chuck's fault for getting me to start watching Hollyoaks in the first place...)

Two-Headed Zombie With No Face (kate), Monday, 1 November 2004 15:07 (twenty years ago)

Chester, so hardly grim up North

Dadaismus (Dada), Monday, 1 November 2004 15:07 (twenty years ago)

The thing I don't understand is that only do members of the same family all look totally different from each other (some of them are even different RACES) but they all have different accents too
Haha, totally. How can you have a black son & an asian daughter?!!

PinXorchiXoR (Pinkpanther), Monday, 1 November 2004 15:09 (twenty years ago)

haha Alix was wondering the same thing re the teenage girls of Chester and tube tops

Freelance Hiveminder (blueski), Monday, 1 November 2004 15:11 (twenty years ago)

Hang on, when did Hollyoaks stop only casting women who look exactly the same as one another?

Matt DC (Matt DC), Monday, 1 November 2004 15:19 (twenty years ago)

Brunettes are offically now allowed on Hollyoaks

Dadaismus (Dada), Monday, 1 November 2004 15:21 (twenty years ago)

i've really come to despise the entire T4 strand

Freelance Hiveminder (blueski), Monday, 1 November 2004 15:22 (twenty years ago)

They put on those tube tops and go DRAG RACING obviously.

I saw Ed sneakily watching bits of The OC. He is very pro-Smallville though.

suzy (suzy), Monday, 1 November 2004 15:24 (twenty years ago)

I can't believe that I'm actually getting sucked into the OC. it was the whole Oliver subplot. Put in scary, psychotic, suicidal trustafarian wastrels, and I'm hooked...

Two-Headed Zombie With No Face (kate), Monday, 1 November 2004 15:26 (twenty years ago)

I liked the poor girl Ryan got involved with recently more than that skinny rich girl

Dadaismus (Dada), Monday, 1 November 2004 15:27 (twenty years ago)

it's called Orange County cos everyone in it is that colour right?

Freelance Hiveminder (blueski), Monday, 1 November 2004 15:27 (twenty years ago)

OMG, I cannot stand the OC! MAybe it's just the stupid advert for it on E4. If that stoopid woman says 'welcome to the OC bitch!' one more time well I'll....I'll...moan about it to my b/f!

PinXorchiXoR (Pinkpanther), Monday, 1 November 2004 15:27 (twenty years ago)

Why do the mums always look younger than their daughters? So they can get off with their daughters' boyfriends? is that the idea? "Are you trying to seduce me, Mistress Heather?"

Two-Headed Zombie With No Face (kate), Monday, 1 November 2004 15:28 (twenty years ago)

Yes, if you ain't orange you come from Chino. (xpost)

suzy (suzy), Monday, 1 November 2004 15:28 (twenty years ago)

I read you as "Two-Handed Zombie With No Fuc", Kate.

Incidentally, Dawn, Sol's sister/Kurt's bit on the side and that moody student one who used to live with Sam, Alex and the geek are 3 of Hollyoaks most attractive ladies ever AND they were all brunettes.

B.A.R.M.S. (Barima), Monday, 1 November 2004 15:28 (twenty years ago)

Kate, because the mums get Botox and their daughters aren't old enough? Arrrgh if a family member of mine tried to get off with one of my former suitors, I would replace their conditioner with Nair or Immac and just lay in wait with a big cheesy grin on my face.

suzy (suzy), Monday, 1 November 2004 15:32 (twenty years ago)

Joanna Taylor was a Hollyoaks crush of shame i confess

Freelance Hiveminder (blueski), Monday, 1 November 2004 15:33 (twenty years ago)

Yeah, but it's MISTRESS HEATHER!!! From CSI!!!

(I am surprised that Suzy hasn't given me the beatdown for going on about Hollyoaks when I used to mock her addiction to 'Stenders.)

Two-Headed Zombie With No Face (kate), Monday, 1 November 2004 15:35 (twenty years ago)

I thought this was going to be about being an actual creep instead of justing after media personalities. :(

LE CHUCK! (ex machina), Monday, 1 November 2004 15:36 (twenty years ago)

My friend has a crush on Lindsay Lohan, I've already pointed out she's Malcolm in the Middle with gigantics breasts.

Holy Shit is this wildly accurate!

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Monday, 1 November 2004 15:37 (twenty years ago)

Actual creep, eh? Well, the only attractive girls I see here these days are only just above the (UK) age of consent. There, I said it.

B.A.R.M.S. (Barima), Monday, 1 November 2004 15:48 (twenty years ago)

I'm trying to psych myself into having an *actual* crush. I thought I had nearly done it last week, with the help of booze and dancing, but alas...

Two-Headed Zombie With No Face (kate), Monday, 1 November 2004 15:49 (twenty years ago)

Hey, can I nominate myself? I was completely cheeky and even a little rude to a girl I have no interest in on Saturday night, and now my mates/cousins are telling me she fancies me (which is partly backed up because after I told her I was 17, she kept smiling at me. Maybe she's Ghanaian Kate).

B.A.R.M.S. (Barima), Monday, 1 November 2004 15:53 (twenty years ago)

Oi!

Two-Headed Zombie With No Face (kate), Monday, 1 November 2004 15:53 (twenty years ago)

I noted, whilst watching the OC yesterday, that America is trying to get in on the Hollyoaks tiny "ruffle skirts" thingie, you know, the ones where you can see the undercrackers, but Summer was wearing a LONGER version of this skirt - is this geenrally acceptablein the US cos if so I'm moving there. All the idiots wearing those ludicrous skirts in this country especially in NOVEMBER are making me go BLIND.

Starry (hello chickens), Monday, 1 November 2004 15:56 (twenty years ago)

I think I'm in the RickyT-esque state of currently not fancying anyone at all (in real life, I mean, not talking about famous people here). Its a bit of a weird state for me and while its nice to be feeling calm and level headed I do miss the feeling of giddy excitement a bit.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Monday, 1 November 2004 15:59 (twenty years ago)

I very rarely fancy "real people".

This, may, say a lot, about me.

Starry (hello chickens), Monday, 1 November 2004 16:07 (twenty years ago)

Using your other ID today, pinefox?

B.A.R.M.S. (Barima), Monday, 1 November 2004 16:09 (twenty years ago)

I was in that state for a while. And then I joined a band, and suddenly I instantly started meeting blokes I was attracted to again. Funny, that.

Two-Headed Zombie With No Face (kate), Monday, 1 November 2004 16:10 (twenty years ago)

Hollyoaks was bad in 1995, and that was the golden age.

the bellefox, Monday, 1 November 2004 16:19 (twenty years ago)

OK, well here's my creepy story.

I met this girl who showed up to my birthday party with a female friend of mine. She was cute, seemed nice etc. So I started noticing her around and found out that she lives upstairs from me. I used th3f4c3b00k.com, which is like friendster oriented towards college douchebags, to find out her aim name and general normal info about her. Currently, I have her on my buddylist so I can check her away message to see what she's doing so I can "randomly" bump into her and strike up a conversation. Ha ha. The worst part of it is that she is apparently friends with two girls I was sleeping with. Yikes!

LE CHUCK!™ (ex machina), Monday, 1 November 2004 16:21 (twenty years ago)

Well, friends could potentially lead to positive reviews.

And dude, they make facebooks so people can do this shit. It's not so creepy.

Laura E (laurae55), Monday, 1 November 2004 16:23 (twenty years ago)

She is a member of the W0m3n's Caccus and I did not notice her drinking at my birthday. Also, I have given her the eye a few times. The other day. I was coming up from the basement as she was coming down the stairs to exit from the ground floor. I gave her my TV Eye and then walked into the hall to my room. I glanced back and she was looking back from the doorway at me.

LE CHUCK!™ (ex machina), Monday, 1 November 2004 16:27 (twenty years ago)

DO MEMBERS OF THE WOM3N'S CAUCU5 TRADE T1PZ ON WHICH DUDES HAVE A BIG W33N?

LE CHUCK!™ (ex machina), Monday, 1 November 2004 16:28 (twenty years ago)

I think I'm in the RickyT-esque state of currently not fancying anyone at all

Oh lord.

RickyT (RickyT), Monday, 1 November 2004 16:32 (twenty years ago)

crush's away message: "epi pen saves the day"

with quotes.

LE CHUCK!™ (ex machina), Monday, 1 November 2004 17:13 (twenty years ago)

Your words, not mine Rick ;)

Matt DC (Matt DC), Monday, 1 November 2004 17:18 (twenty years ago)

Julian Rhind-Tutt for some unfathomable reason. Or maybe it's his character (Dr McCartney in Green Wing) that inexplicably gets my juices flowing.

I'm mortified. Shoot me.

Rumpy Pumpkin (rumpypumpkin), Monday, 1 November 2004 17:27 (twenty years ago)

last week i had a minor shameful crush on the girl at the genius bar, but i think i'm over it now.

results not typical (Jody Beth Rosen), Monday, 1 November 2004 18:20 (twenty years ago)

I have loads of random fleeting crushes, kind of like the dear random person variety. But nothing worth busting out "I Remember You" for.

jel -- (jel), Monday, 1 November 2004 18:24 (twenty years ago)

MARCIA CROSS/Mrs. Van De Camp on DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES.

Which is a very good show, btw. And about 15 seconds in I called the theme song as being DANNY ELFMAN, although it's not like his score work is every transparent.

nickalicious (nickalicious), Monday, 1 November 2004 18:34 (twenty years ago)

Typos or horrible grammar? You decide.

nickalicious (nickalicious), Monday, 1 November 2004 18:34 (twenty years ago)

Okay, Terri Hatcher too.

nickalicious (nickalicious), Monday, 1 November 2004 18:35 (twenty years ago)

I had the Julian Rhind-Tutt thing going on as well, but got over it. I don't think I have any embarassing crushes at the moment. Last one was David Hyde Pierce.

I think Starry's crush is in Monarch of the Glen, as that's the only exclusively Sunday thing I can think of.

ailsa (ailsa), Monday, 1 November 2004 18:36 (twenty years ago)

I reckon it's the sombre sidekick in Foyle's War.

jel -- (jel), Monday, 1 November 2004 18:37 (twenty years ago)

Or someone out of Last Of The Summer Wine.

ailsa (ailsa), Monday, 1 November 2004 18:38 (twenty years ago)

I can't guess at all actually, all the young people seem to be in Hollyoaks or the OC. What is Chancers btw? I watch Dick and Dom on the CBBC channel.

jel -- (jel), Monday, 1 November 2004 18:40 (twenty years ago)

that's just what Northerners are like! You go up Hull or York, and all the lasses are just waltzing about in tube tops of microminis, even when it's below freezing and there's a gale blowing in off the sea! it's mad!

I was in Hull on Saturday. Kate is OTM.

caitlin (caitlin), Monday, 1 November 2004 21:27 (twenty years ago)

The new producer on staff who is engaged and has sick/cool/unfathomably awesome taste in music.

I'll be a homewrecker. I don't care. That's how I am. Girl, I show you how we do...

Jimmy Mod always makes friends with women before bedding them down (ModJ), Monday, 1 November 2004 22:00 (twenty years ago)

After University Challenge tonight, I am deeply enamoured with Drayson of Edinburgh University.

Adam Faithless (Adam Faithless), Monday, 1 November 2004 22:15 (twenty years ago)

But, Adam, she was showing her bra-straps on national telly!

caitlin (caitlin), Monday, 1 November 2004 22:17 (twenty years ago)

She was really pretty though, wasn't she?

ailsa (ailsa), Monday, 1 November 2004 22:23 (twenty years ago)

Well, yes. And I was quite glad that my old university won :-)

caitlin (caitlin), Monday, 1 November 2004 22:24 (twenty years ago)

They beat my old university :(

The students this year seem particularly not clever. That guy last week with the beret and the goatee beard was a corker, I nearly revived the UC thread just to mock him.

ailsa (ailsa), Monday, 1 November 2004 22:30 (twenty years ago)

God, he was great, wasn't he? A living, walking Viz character. I loved the way he pronounced his name with such an Italian flourish. And then got all the questions wrong.

Adam Faithless (Adam Faithless), Monday, 1 November 2004 22:37 (twenty years ago)

I am so OTM with regards to the Malcolm in the Middle thing I scared myself. But this person cannot see he is in love with an augmented Frankie Muniz. Terrifying.

Nellie (nellskies), Tuesday, 2 November 2004 14:06 (twenty years ago)

And I am not the only person whose realised it either? I was just trying to find two similar pics and came up with this

http://s93109037.onlinehome.us/twop/pc_70.html

eery.
They haven't used particularly similar photos but I've seen better.

Nellie (nellskies), Tuesday, 2 November 2004 14:14 (twenty years ago)

Clark Kent in "Smallville" actually looks like Rudolf Nureyev

Dadaismus (Dada), Tuesday, 2 November 2004 14:17 (twenty years ago)

He-Man and She Ra - oh wait.

x-post

B.A.R.M.S. (Barima), Tuesday, 2 November 2004 14:19 (twenty years ago)

I've given up crushes. My life is dull now. At least it's realistic.

Maria (Maria), Tuesday, 2 November 2004 16:11 (twenty years ago)

ten years pass...

I wish I could give up my crush.
