I'll be interested to see what the crunch is like tonight around here. The only time I've ever had to actually wait at the poll line more than a couple of minutes was last year in October. You might recall a certain gubernatorial campaign out here at the time.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Tuesday, 2 November 2004 13:59 (twenty years ago)

they broke it up into districts and there was hardly anyone in the line for my district, so i didn't have to wait very long at all.

This queueing thing is weird. Like Alba said elsewhere, it's as though they don't want people to vote.

RickyT (RickyT), Tuesday, 2 November 2004 14:10 (twenty years ago)

the people in my area are pretty informed and well-educated and would raise holy hell if they were denied the chance to vote.

however one guy in the front of the line had to requeue because a volunteer sent him to the wrong section. whoops.

anyone who fucks with my voting today will get a bingo foot in the arse.

I think Alex might just expire and die happy if he could vote Meatwad for President.

jocelyn (Jocelyn), Tuesday, 2 November 2004 21:30 (twenty years ago)

alex your kid is so cute. she's all like "yeah, WHUT? I'm doin' MY part!"

Roger Fidelity (Roger Fidelity), Tuesday, 2 November 2004 21:30 (twenty years ago)

charlotte looks all business!

i waited about 25 minutes to cast my (largely) meaningless vote in the d of c. had my surname begun with a-k, it would have taken 5 minutes. had it begun with s-z, it might have taken an hour. some folks don't alphabetize well.

mookieproof (mookieproof), Tuesday, 2 November 2004 21:35 (twenty years ago)

didn't anyone challenge charlotte's vote?

kelsey (kelstarry), Tuesday, 2 November 2004 21:38 (twenty years ago)

I wish I had photos; the girl ahead of me was k-cute. I had to cast a provisional ballot and have no idea how much I should imagine that it'll be counted.

nabisco (nabisco), Tuesday, 2 November 2004 21:39 (twenty years ago)

Who would dare challenge Charlotte?

Andy K (Andy K), Tuesday, 2 November 2004 21:41 (twenty years ago)

I mentioned it on the other thread, but a half hour waiting in line plus really cute girl standing behind me equals having to snap myself out of vivid daydreams every ten minutes. I'm just glad that I don't have to use public transportation.

Pleasant Plains (Pleasant Plains), Tuesday, 2 November 2004 21:41 (twenty years ago)

vote early
vote often
vote young!

Cute baby Charlotte + mini picket sign that reads "I WUV JOHN KERRY" = landslide victory for Democrats.

n/a (Nick A.), Tuesday, 2 November 2004 21:49 (twenty years ago)

If I can find some batteries, I'll take my digital cam to the election party tonight and have some pics to post in the morrow.
