Will someone in any English-speaking country marry me? I'm serious. I want outta here.

Orbit (Orbit), Wednesday, 3 November 2004 16:37 (twenty-one years ago)

Orbit, I'm disappointed. You've got more fight in you than that, don't you?

Miss Misery (thatgirl), Wednesday, 3 November 2004 17:17 (twenty-one years ago)

Don't bitch out!

adam... (nordicskilla), Wednesday, 3 November 2004 17:18 (twenty-one years ago)

Can you cook?

Thermo Thinwall (Thermo Thinwall), Wednesday, 3 November 2004 17:18 (twenty-one years ago)

I'm tired of fighting. Resistance seems to be useless. I put up with Reagan. Bush the 1st. Arnold. Bush the 2nd and now??!!!!

We could have separate bedrooms. I could find a job (I have a pretty good resume) with a residency permit. I wouldn't have to live under the direct dominion of The Shrub.

Orbit (Orbit), Wednesday, 3 November 2004 17:19 (twenty-one years ago)

Yes, it's only indirect up here - BUT CAN YOU COOK?

Thermo Thinwall (Thermo Thinwall), Wednesday, 3 November 2004 17:21 (twenty-one years ago)

Would the hubbie get a green card?

(NB Sarah this is not the reason we're together, honest)

Markelby (Mark C), Wednesday, 3 November 2004 17:22 (twenty-one years ago)

Not unless YOU moved HERE, Mark! ;)

adam... (nordicskilla), Wednesday, 3 November 2004 17:23 (twenty-one years ago)

Mark, I told you, it's over.

Shabazz (hello chickens), Wednesday, 3 November 2004 17:23 (twenty-one years ago)

Green cards as such don't really exist - I am a Permanent Resident, and have a little card with my thumbprint on it that I have to carry around as proof.

adam... (nordicskilla), Wednesday, 3 November 2004 17:24 (twenty-one years ago)

Of COURSE I can cook!

Orbit (Orbit), Wednesday, 3 November 2004 17:25 (twenty-one years ago)

Congrats Thermo ... I hope I'll be invited.

MindInRewind (Barry Bruner), Wednesday, 3 November 2004 17:26 (twenty-one years ago)

I'm still taking bids, Barry ;-)

Orbit (Orbit), Wednesday, 3 November 2004 17:28 (twenty-one years ago)

Can you cook venison and beaver tails though?

Mr Noodles (Mr Noodles), Wednesday, 3 November 2004 17:33 (twenty-one years ago)

I've got a pressure cooker and I'm gonna use it. Stand back.

You people think I'm kidding. I am so NOT kidding. Get me out of here before FB1 agents show up to take me to a re-education camp.

Orbit (Orbit), Wednesday, 3 November 2004 17:34 (twenty-one years ago)

Could we work out some conjugal arrangement? Hell, one long, cold, dark, SK winter, and I start to look like Babe Ruth (I'm not sure who that is, but he's a stud, right?)!

Huk-L, Wednesday, 3 November 2004 17:43 (twenty-one years ago)

I am open to all arrangments. None of them involve sleeping with anyone, though (unless it just happens that way). Feel free to email.

Orbit (Orbit), Wednesday, 3 November 2004 17:45 (twenty-one years ago)

Do you really want to live under a monarchy (albeit a constitutional one)?

Huk-L, Wednesday, 3 November 2004 17:50 (twenty-one years ago)

Canada is a monarchy?

Orbit (Orbit), Wednesday, 3 November 2004 17:51 (twenty-one years ago)

yes.

Mr Noodles (Mr Noodles), Wednesday, 3 November 2004 17:53 (twenty-one years ago)

You think we put the Queen on our money because she's a fox? (she is, but that's beside the point)

Huk-L, Wednesday, 3 November 2004 17:54 (twenty-one years ago)

Well I live in an oligarchy.
I want to live in a country where people are human, even if they don't have money. Where there is national health care. Where you pay more taxes, but you get something for those taxes besides the Patriot Act-type McCarthy-esque terr0r campaign on anyone who has a thought that stands on opposition to the administration.
When the US lives up the Constitution, without changing it so an Austrian actor can be President, I'll come back, and then you can have a green card.

Orbit (Orbit), Wednesday, 3 November 2004 17:54 (twenty-one years ago)

You live in a plutocracy.

I'll marry anyone who wants to live in the UK, provided they buy me a beer. It's pretty cold in Scotland though...

Kevin Gilchrist (Mr Fusion), Wednesday, 3 November 2004 17:55 (twenty-one years ago)

You got it.

Orbit (Orbit), Wednesday, 3 November 2004 17:56 (twenty-one years ago)

Arnold's no worse The Dief was.

Mr Noodles (Mr Noodles), Wednesday, 3 November 2004 17:56 (twenty-one years ago)

Dief?

Orbit (Orbit), Wednesday, 3 November 2004 17:58 (twenty-one years ago)

adam... (nordicskilla), Wednesday, 3 November 2004 17:58 (twenty-one years ago)

PE Trudeau, often refered to as Canada's Philosopher King and sexiest PM, once FULLY SUSPENDED ALL LIBERTIES ACROSS THE COUNTRY by invoking the War Measures Act to catch terrorists.

Huk-L, Wednesday, 3 November 2004 17:59 (twenty-one years ago)

Also, since Pamela Anderson became a US Citizen last year, we have an opening for "National Babe".

Huk-L, Wednesday, 3 November 2004 18:00 (twenty-one years ago)

But he actually managed to catch them. Liberties were then restored.

Thermo Thinwall (Thermo Thinwall), Wednesday, 3 November 2004 18:01 (twenty-one years ago)

But it was a human rights disaster for the hundreds of people who were rounded up and "interrogated" who had absolutely nothing to do with Quebec.

Huk-L, Wednesday, 3 November 2004 18:07 (twenty-one years ago)

They did throw a dead British ambassador in the trunk of a car and took a couple of others hostage.

Mr Noodles (Mr Noodles), Wednesday, 3 November 2004 18:09 (twenty-one years ago)

The WMA was enacted for what ... two weeks?

MindInRewind (Barry Bruner), Wednesday, 3 November 2004 18:10 (twenty-one years ago)

Now if only we could get Quebec to sign the constitution.

Mr Noodles (Mr Noodles), Wednesday, 3 November 2004 18:11 (twenty-one years ago)

Guantanamo is a human rights disaster, Huck. The Quebec situation I would file under "not very nice".

Thermo Thinwall (Thermo Thinwall), Wednesday, 3 November 2004 18:11 (twenty-one years ago)

my mother and mother in law refuse to become american citizens.

Velveteen Bingo (Chris V), Wednesday, 3 November 2004 18:12 (twenty-one years ago)

Plus, PET got the job done and fast. That alone justifys things for me.

Thermo Thinwall (Thermo Thinwall), Wednesday, 3 November 2004 18:13 (twenty-one years ago)

And his wife got it on The Rolling Stones.

Mr Noodles (Mr Noodles), Wednesday, 3 November 2004 18:14 (twenty-one years ago)

TS: a few Quebecers go to jail vs Maggie and the Stones carve out a unique slice of music and Canadian history

Which was better for Canada in the long run?

MindInRewind (Barry Bruner), Wednesday, 3 November 2004 18:16 (twenty-one years ago)

But that's the thing, it wasn't just Quebeckers, the WMA was invoked across the board, and the RCMP took full advantage of it. And PET is often thought of as the most classically liberal of Liberals. I'm not saying that this irrevokably makes PET a fascist or anything, just that Canada isn't always the liberal haven it likes to been seen as.

Huk-L, Wednesday, 3 November 2004 18:19 (twenty-one years ago)

Which was better for Canada in the long run?
Well because of the Maggie incident when TRS got caught with coke in Toronto they got off super light and have been doing free shows and suprise gigs ever since. So obviously it has to be the other choice.

Mr Noodles (Mr Noodles), Wednesday, 3 November 2004 18:22 (twenty-one years ago)

Orbit, I really think you need to post a picture here. Still, the most I can offer is a long struggle to potentially claim citizenship in the fellow Coalition nation of Ethiopia. 13 months of sunshine!

nabisco (nabisco), Wednesday, 3 November 2004 19:23 (twenty-one years ago)

i have a girlfriend, unfortunately, but i do have a room open in a very nice liberal shared house in vancouver. i'm sure you can find someone to marry once you're here.

Shmool McShmool (shmuel), Wednesday, 3 November 2004 22:13 (twenty-one years ago)

english is one of our eleven official languages! diversity!!

m. (mitchlnw), Wednesday, 3 November 2004 22:15 (twenty-one years ago)

If I didn't have a good job and a record in progress, I would like to think that I would take this as an opportunity to jump ship and move to another country for awhile. For ex., I found out I have a fake bride in Perth, Australia ready to go.

Jordan (Jordan), Wednesday, 3 November 2004 22:23 (twenty-one years ago)

You should try Finland, Orbit, most of us speak decent enough English in here. You'd have to pay one of the highest taxes in the world, but you'd get all sorts of free shit in return, from childcare to education to healthcare. Plus you can marry a gal if you want to.

Tuomas (Tuomas), Wednesday, 3 November 2004 22:23 (twenty-one years ago)

damn, you make a good case tuomas.

Miss Misery (thatgirl), Thursday, 4 November 2004 01:37 (twenty-one years ago)

All that , and co-ed saunas too!

MindInRewind (Barry Bruner), Thursday, 4 November 2004 02:04 (twenty-one years ago)

Hey I'll take on any of you lovely ILX boys who want out! Melbourne's a great place.. oh wait, I'm taken arent I. Doh.

Trayce (trayce), Thursday, 4 November 2004 02:14 (twenty-one years ago)
