He can't be - if the movie was shown on TV before the election (as I believe had been arranged?) that disqualifies him from being nominated. And he knew and supported this.

Even if you agree with his politics, which I sort of do (on some issues), his 'films' are assbaggery that don't deserve to be called documentaries.

Truth be told, the assbaggery quotient of films that get nominated for Academy Awards is pretty damn high (and I say this as someone who tends to like these movies).

they screened it on tv here on monday (and it's still in theatres here). it prob wasn't very good, but i mean at that point eminem videos were getting me choked up, so i kind of inevitably responded to all the easy emotional manipulation.

My real review would probably read something like:

"The English Patient was so ridiculously boring that I could actually sense my tonsils attempting to shoot out of the top of my school in a desperate bid to save myself from the oppressive ennui. This is going to kill at the Oscars."
