― Rob Bolton (Rob Bolton), Thursday, 4 November 2004 16:37 (twenty-one years ago)

not sure I can take non-fishing guests to be honest (not at my usual lake in Waltham Abbey anyway) and to fish there you need certain items of kit which I don't have duplicates of :o(

― Porkpie (porkpie), Thursday, 4 November 2004 16:38 (twenty-one years ago)

Also, you'd have to get there for 7am!

― Steve.n. (sjkirk), Thursday, 4 November 2004 16:46 (twenty-one years ago)

This thread is CATCH AND RELEASE ONLY! It's not torture, they love a challenge. And don't worry, they can't feel that hook - the fish like to have a little fun too, ya know!

― Rob Bolton (Rob Bolton), Thursday, 4 November 2004 16:47 (twenty-one years ago)

Fuck catch and release! I want to eats my rainbow troutses!

― nickalicious (nickalicious), Thursday, 4 November 2004 16:48 (twenty-one years ago)

I've only ever killed one fish (a trout, and yes it was tasty)

I have however reported three separate pollution incidents caused by people dumping waste, enabling water authority experts to get to the site of the incident in enough time to contain the nastiness. How is that torturing?

― Porkpie (porkpie), Thursday, 4 November 2004 16:49 (twenty-one years ago)

I have, on multiple occasions, caught rainbow trout using a CHEETOH as bate.

― nickalicious (nickalicious), Thursday, 4 November 2004 16:49 (twenty-one years ago)

you know we have them here Rob? known as Zander?

― Porkpie (porkpie), Thursday, 4 November 2004 16:50 (twenty-one years ago)

WICKED!

sadly, a lot of the lakes in ontario have too high a mercury level (!) and they don't recommend eating the fishies. damn.

that acid rain thing didn't help either (thanks, america, who contributed to the majority of this)

― Rob Bolton (Rob Bolton), Thursday, 4 November 2004 16:51 (twenty-one years ago)

get yrself over to the fens and you'll be in

also they're just about the only things left iin the Thames after the big pollution incident a couple of months ago.
