ILX Comp Volume 2 - Who wants a copy?

Okay, so no sorry it's not ready yet, by the end of the month it will be. I need to know who wants a copy, who wants to act as a distributor, anyone who is willing to make extra copies etc.

I'm planning to get around 100 CDR's made. All contributors and Ned get a copy as a matter of course.

Suggest a title if you like.

jel -- (jel), Thursday, 4 November 2004 18:32 (twenty-one years ago)

Yes please! And I can serve as distributor to other Chicago ILXors, if that's what you mean.

jaymc (jaymc), Thursday, 4 November 2004 18:42 (twenty-one years ago)

yeah, that's the sort of thing I mean, thanks jaymc.

jel -- (jel), Thursday, 4 November 2004 18:44 (twenty-one years ago)

Jel, I can't remember...am I on there? Either way I'll distribute for the Torontonians.

Sean Carruthers (SeanC), Thursday, 4 November 2004 18:46 (twenty-one years ago)

yeah, you're on there sean!

jel -- (jel), Thursday, 4 November 2004 18:47 (twenty-one years ago)

I can copy and mail to anywhere.

luna (luna.c), Thursday, 4 November 2004 18:47 (twenty-one years ago)

I'd like one. Do you still have my address?

Christine 'Green Leafy Dragon' Indigo (cindigo), Thursday, 4 November 2004 18:51 (twenty-one years ago)

Jaymc since I'm relatively close can you mail me a copy too? (Is the above yr real email address?)

jocelyn (Jocelyn), Thursday, 4 November 2004 18:53 (twenty-one years ago)

(Close to Chicago that is)

jocelyn (Jocelyn), Thursday, 4 November 2004 18:54 (twenty-one years ago)

Yes, please! As I've "hinted" on (too) many occasions, I'm eagerly ready, night or day, to receive the long-awaited copy :)

*willing & able to guarantee some rad'o exposure, too*

...The only other ilXor I could possibly make a copy for is Tuomas...

t\'\'t (t\'\'t), Thursday, 4 November 2004 18:55 (twenty-one years ago)

roxymuzak (roxymuzak), Thursday, 4 November 2004 18:57 (twenty-one years ago)

jel -- (jel), Thursday, 4 November 2004 18:58 (twenty-one years ago)

OH! And if people could give some idea of their general location that'd be ace, thanks!

jel -- (jel), Thursday, 4 November 2004 19:03 (twenty-one years ago)

Yes and yes, Jocelyn.

jaymc (jaymc), Thursday, 4 November 2004 19:16 (twenty-one years ago)

Thanks

jocelyn (Jocelyn), Thursday, 4 November 2004 19:18 (twenty-one years ago)

The Lady Ms Lurex (lucylurex), Thursday, 4 November 2004 20:17 (twenty-one years ago)

I think, I might have your address Di! But probably best to send it again! :)

jel -- (jel), Thursday, 4 November 2004 20:18 (twenty-one years ago)

okey

The Lady Ms Lurex (lucylurex), Thursday, 4 November 2004 20:22 (twenty-one years ago)

Me! me! Me!

Remy (x Jeremy), Friday, 5 November 2004 01:08 (twenty-one years ago)

May I have one? I wasn't involved or anything, but I would love to hear what people have made. I don't know about how this has been arranged, so sorry if it's not appropriate to ask.

Pangolino (ricki spaghetti), Friday, 5 November 2004 01:14 (twenty-one years ago)

What's the final tracklisting, Jel?

Dr. C (Dr. C), Friday, 5 November 2004 08:55 (twenty-one years ago)

And how do I get a volume one, also?

mark grout (mark grout), Friday, 5 November 2004 09:01 (twenty-one years ago)

There was a brief discussion of Volume One when I went to The Pinefox's luxurious bachelor pad in London's fashionable Coconut Grove.

PJ Miller (PJ Miller), Friday, 5 November 2004 09:04 (twenty-one years ago)

Title? Hmm....

Vol 1 was "Do not listen if you hate us" or something...

Hmm..

"Excelsior: The Album" ?
"Hat washing a fuck"
"This album has been locked by an administrator"

(I might come up with a better one later)

mark grout (mark grout), Friday, 5 November 2004 09:04 (twenty-one years ago)

those r quite good a'ready!

t\'\'t (t\'\'t), Friday, 5 November 2004 09:05 (twenty-one years ago)

I'd very much like to join the queue for a copy, Jel! If you get any more requests from Norway/Sweden/Denmark/Iceland (Finland seems to have been taken care of), I can also make a few copies and redistribute.

(Agreed, those title suggestions are not bad.)

OleM (OleM), Friday, 5 November 2004 09:13 (twenty-one years ago)

Any chance of getting a copy?

PinXorchiXoR (Pinkpanther), Friday, 5 November 2004 09:16 (twenty-one years ago)

(I suppose "Have you seen these cats" would be right out of order?)

mark grout (mark grout), Friday, 5 November 2004 09:16 (twenty-one years ago)

i'm feeling rather buoyed by the fact that lots of people will get to hear my song, which i feared would be lost to the ages.

the surface noise (slight return) (electricsound), Friday, 5 November 2004 09:18 (twenty-one years ago)

lots = more than me, my bandmates and my girlfriend.

the surface noise (slight return) (electricsound), Friday, 5 November 2004 09:18 (twenty-one years ago)

Yeah, this will be my biggest distribution ever...

mark grout (mark grout), Friday, 5 November 2004 09:19 (twenty-one years ago)

i can't say the same, but since my album may never see release it's the best i've got at the moment..

the surface noise (slight return) (electricsound), Friday, 5 November 2004 09:21 (twenty-one years ago)

Yes please.

beanz (beanz), Friday, 5 November 2004 09:36 (twenty-one years ago)

me

Velveteen Bingo (Chris V), Friday, 5 November 2004 11:03 (twenty-one years ago)

that's already taken

ken c (ken c), Friday, 5 November 2004 12:36 (twenty-one years ago)

Excelsior the album

ken c (ken c), Friday, 5 November 2004 12:37 (twenty-one years ago)

Kevin Gilchrist (Mr Fusion), Tuesday, 9 November 2004 10:25 (twenty-one years ago)

I would definitely like one of these if i may.

CharlieNo4 (Charlie), Tuesday, 9 November 2004 10:30 (twenty-one years ago)

jel -- (jel), Tuesday, 9 November 2004 17:44 (twenty-one years ago)

Freelance Hiveminder (blueski), Tuesday, 9 November 2004 17:49 (twenty-one years ago)

I can do glasgow and around, again!

RJG (RJG), Tuesday, 9 November 2004 17:51 (twenty-one years ago)

jel -- (jel), Tuesday, 9 November 2004 17:52 (twenty-one years ago)

I'd love to have a copy! Should I send you my address, Tiit?

Tuomas (Tuomas), Tuesday, 9 November 2004 17:55 (twenty-one years ago)

please get written permission from the artists first though.

does it have to be hand-written? quill n' blood? i should coco

Freelance Hiveminder (blueski), Tuesday, 9 November 2004 17:56 (twenty-one years ago)

i don't want to upload them, i just want to download them from someone's computer, or an email account. i hate me them ceedeez

Freelance Hiveminder (blueski), Tuesday, 9 November 2004 17:56 (twenty-one years ago)

Oh well, I'm afriad they aren't online, and I don't have that power! If someone wants to do such a thing, like set up a website with space for MP3's, links etc, then that'd be cool. But me, I'm lo-tech.

I know a band of 13th century monks who would be willing to write out your permission slips steve. I'm afraid they don't have email.

jel -- (jel), Tuesday, 9 November 2004 18:02 (twenty-one years ago)

hey jel, the new zealand ilxers have spoken, can you please send a total of seven copies my way? thankee!

The Lady Ms Lurex (lucylurex), Tuesday, 9 November 2004 19:09 (twenty-one years ago)

I'll have a look into online options.

Bernard the Butler (Lynskey), Tuesday, 9 November 2004 19:23 (twenty-one years ago)

I would like one please, but you may send c/o RJG if that's OK with him. Oh, he said "Glasgow and around" so hopefully that may include me. Anyway, please, yes, that would be nice.

ailsa (ailsa), Tuesday, 9 November 2004 19:29 (twenty-one years ago)

Jel, I e-mailed you my new address and the desire for two copies (herbert herbert was on the track). Did you get it?

miccio (miccio), Tuesday, 9 November 2004 21:21 (twenty-one years ago)

Uh, so what's the tracklist?

Casuistry (Chris P), Tuesday, 9 November 2004 21:23 (twenty-one years ago)

Tuomas - yeh sure, send the address.

t\'\'t (t\'\'t), Tuesday, 9 November 2004 22:51 (twenty-one years ago)

isadora (isadora), Wednesday, 10 November 2004 00:08 (twenty-one years ago)

hi issadora! i am well, and still on holiday.

jel can we make that 8 for nz, please?

The Lady Ms Lurex (lucylurex), Wednesday, 10 November 2004 05:29 (twenty-one years ago)

Are there any bands here who would really mind about having the track downloadable?

Sure, once something is in MP3 format, you can't really control *what* happens to it, but I'd rather have "The Lost Rivers Of Clerkenwell" floating around the interweb as representative of my work than, say "Peter Saw Another Man's Penis (And He Liked It)".

Masonic Laundry Boom (kate), Wednesday, 10 November 2004 11:54 (twenty-one years ago)

those two should form a medley

ken c (ken c), Wednesday, 10 November 2004 11:59 (twenty-one years ago)

Well, that would be very easy if it were about Peter Ackroyd and not Pete Doherty!

Masonic Laundry Boom (kate), Wednesday, 10 November 2004 12:01 (twenty-one years ago)

along the lost rivers of Clerkenwell, peter saw another man's penis (and he liked it)

ken c (ken c), Wednesday, 10 November 2004 12:01 (twenty-one years ago)

maybe he saw Peter Ackroyd's penis

ken c (ken c), Wednesday, 10 November 2004 12:02 (twenty-one years ago)

Stop it.

Masonic Laundry Boom (kate), Wednesday, 10 November 2004 12:02 (twenty-one years ago)

I would actually explode.

Masonic Laundry Boom (kate), Wednesday, 10 November 2004 12:02 (twenty-one years ago)

Mine is already sort-of downloadable (well the studio version is, the ILX one is live) and I don't think anyone in the band would care if this one was too.

Dr. C (Dr. C), Wednesday, 10 November 2004 12:09 (twenty-one years ago)

Do I need to email someone my addy?

PinXorchiXoR (Pinkpanther), Wednesday, 10 November 2004 12:45 (twenty-one years ago)

My one is downloadable, certainly. If someone set up a download page, I'd tell them...

mark grout (mark grout), Wednesday, 10 November 2004 16:06 (twenty-one years ago)

I don't care if anyone downloads the song Sarah and I did. But beware, it is a twee virus.

n/a (Nick A.), Wednesday, 10 November 2004 16:08 (twenty-one years ago)

download pages not needed, just slsk and e-mail innit

Freelance Hiveminder (blueski), Wednesday, 10 November 2004 16:09 (twenty-one years ago)

I suppose I don't care if it's downloadable, even though it's a silly jumble of percussion.

Jordan (Jordan), Wednesday, 10 November 2004 16:11 (twenty-one years ago)

arrgh, jel can we make it ten please? thx, that is my final request i promise.

The Lady Ms Lurex (lucylurex), Wednesday, 10 November 2004 19:50 (twenty-one years ago)

Um, Don't suppose I can ride the train, it's a choo choo; ride it?

mark grout (mark grout), Wednesday, 22 December 2004 14:53 (twenty-one years ago)

ten months pass...
All contributors and Ned get a copy as a matter of course.

So, when do I get mine?

Somebody please help me get a copy of this fucking comp. I've only revived these threads 10 or so times, and it's been a fucking year. I'M ON THE FUCKING THING FOR FUCK'S SAKE. I JUST WANT TO HEAR IT. JESUS.

martin m. (mushrush), Wednesday, 26 October 2005 16:49 (twenty years ago)

lol

it's on slsk anyway isn't it if you're in a desperate rush

ken c (ken c), Wednesday, 26 October 2005 17:04 (twenty years ago)

Beats me. I've never actually used slsk. Anyway it's the principle of the thing. I mean how many of the contributors never got a copy besides me?

martin m. (mushrush), Wednesday, 26 October 2005 17:09 (twenty years ago)

I'm sorry. I have no excuses, I have your address, I'll post a copy in the next couple of days.

jel -- (jel), Wednesday, 26 October 2005 17:58 (twenty years ago)

Ooh can I have one too jel (as requested upthread)? If the address shown is real, I can email you my postal address.

The Vintner's Lipogram (OleM), Wednesday, 26 October 2005 18:35 (twenty years ago)

yep, sure, email address is real.

martin m. (mushrush), Wednesday, 26 October 2005 21:35 (twenty years ago)

your track is a good one mr mushrush

vacuum cleaner (electricsound), Wednesday, 26 October 2005 23:42 (twenty years ago)

thank you, esoj

and sorry to jel if my all caps rant sounded more serious than it was. I mean, I am a little upset, but I did it in all caps more to be funny than to actually seem like I was yelling.

As far as swearing in real life goes, yes. Yes I do. a lot. Ask Ned.

martin m. (mushrush), Thursday, 27 October 2005 01:04 (twenty years ago)

He's a passionate man.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Thursday, 27 October 2005 01:11 (twenty years ago)

Martin, you have every right to be annoyed at me!!
