Does anyone here think they're unique?

Nowell (Nowell), Friday, 5 November 2004 19:42 (twenty-one years ago)

Yes.

Ian John50n (orion), Friday, 5 November 2004 19:44 (twenty-one years ago)

The correct spelling is E-U-N-U-C-H

Huk-L, Friday, 5 November 2004 19:44 (twenty-one years ago)

Man, you all know how to be witty. I'm no good with wit. It's sad.

Nowell (Nowell), Friday, 5 November 2004 19:45 (twenty-one years ago)

WIT IS THE OPIUM OF THE MASSES.

Ian John50n (orion), Friday, 5 November 2004 19:47 (twenty-one years ago)

It's why I get to easily offended.

Nowell (Nowell), Friday, 5 November 2004 19:48 (twenty-one years ago)

Wit is for fags.

Norm4n Rockw311, Friday, 5 November 2004 19:49 (twenty-one years ago)

unfortunately i am a combonation of nerve.com, theonion.com, pitchforkmedia.com, cnn.com, indymedia.org

firstworldman (firstworldman), Friday, 5 November 2004 19:49 (twenty-one years ago)

I am a bit unique.

Cathy (Cathy), Friday, 5 November 2004 19:50 (twenty-one years ago)

I'm sometimes disappointed to find that I'm just like everybody else. Whilst it's satisfying to think of yourself as unique sometimes, I think you can only ever claim to have slightly differing tastes/views/experiences and etc, from the next person.

jel -- (jel), Friday, 5 November 2004 19:52 (twenty-one years ago)

actually... i'd venture to say that for an online community that is perhaps united loosely by a basic similarity of tastes, ilx avoids a lot of the hive mind annoying-ness that other boards or lservs or whatever have... surely someone will dispute this though thusly proving my point.

firstworldman (firstworldman), Friday, 5 November 2004 19:55 (twenty-one years ago)

and also i would like to withdraw my posit that i am a combonation of the above sites as it seems stupid and maybe this thread is meant to be a serious topic. and i think i am actually probably unique... i feel so, anyway.

firstworldman (firstworldman), Friday, 5 November 2004 19:58 (twenty-one years ago)

Q: How do you catch a rare bird?

adam... (nordicskilla), Friday, 5 November 2004 19:59 (twenty-one years ago)

A: Tell her, "well done"!

Spencer Chow (spencermfi), Friday, 5 November 2004 20:00 (twenty-one years ago)

A: Unique up on it.

adam... (nordicskilla), Friday, 5 November 2004 20:01 (twenty-one years ago)

I think a) that everyone is unique, and b) (and ignoring the strict definition of the word) most of us are a lot less unique than we sometimes like to think and sometimes fear.

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Friday, 5 November 2004 20:09 (twenty-one years ago)

unique? how 'bout u-stink?!?!

Emilymv (Emilymv), Friday, 5 November 2004 20:10 (twenty-one years ago)

I'm always amazed by how many different types of people there are.

oops (Oops), Friday, 5 November 2004 20:15 (twenty-one years ago)

I'm pretty sure no-one else can do that thing I do.

Steve.n. (sjkirk), Friday, 5 November 2004 20:17 (twenty-one years ago)

I think I'm rather unique, but not in a good way.

papa november (papa november), Friday, 5 November 2004 20:18 (twenty-one years ago)

I am unique, yes. Or at least independent.

mcd (mcd), Friday, 5 November 2004 20:27 (twenty-one years ago)

i have it on good authority from multiple sources that there is not one else remotely like me. i didn't used to to believe it but now i do. i also am not saying that's a good thing, it is just a thing.

Orbit (Orbit), Friday, 5 November 2004 21:03 (twenty-one years ago)

I am so unique it hurts.

adam... (nordicskilla), Friday, 5 November 2004 21:04 (twenty-one years ago)

You know what? I asked my (real) dad what words my brothers used to describe me to him, and he said they used the word "unique" a lot. I don't know if I see it. But my dad says to stop underestimating myself.

Nowell (Nowell), Friday, 5 November 2004 21:28 (twenty-one years ago)

of course you dont think youre unique. you think youre inique.

:| (....), Friday, 5 November 2004 21:33 (twenty-one years ago)

I think I'm NOT unique. Which doesn't make me unique. One time in one of my classes at school, I said to no one in particular, "I'm completely normal." And other stuff about how normal and not unique I am. And the girl sitting near me just snickered.

Nowell (Nowell), Friday, 5 November 2004 21:34 (twenty-one years ago)

well talkign to yourself isnt normal. but it doesnt maek you unique either. lots of homeless people do it.

:| (....), Friday, 5 November 2004 21:37 (twenty-one years ago)

Excuse me?

Nowell (Nowell), Friday, 5 November 2004 21:39 (twenty-one years ago)

do you like collecting empty cans and stuff, nowell?

:| (....), Friday, 5 November 2004 21:41 (twenty-one years ago)

Fuck you!

Nowell (Nowell), Friday, 5 November 2004 21:42 (twenty-one years ago)

there are delicious thigns to be found in trash cans, you know.

:| (....), Friday, 5 November 2004 21:44 (twenty-one years ago)

Go fuck yourself, you fucking dipshit.

Nowell (Nowell), Friday, 5 November 2004 21:45 (twenty-one years ago)

its funny how people never eat all their food.

:| (....), Friday, 5 November 2004 21:45 (twenty-one years ago)

FUCK OFF.

Nowell (Nowell), Friday, 5 November 2004 21:46 (twenty-one years ago)

or drop half smoked cigarettes on the sidewalk.

:| (....), Friday, 5 November 2004 21:47 (twenty-one years ago)

a bit unique, rather unique, a lot less unique, so unique?
There are no degrees of uniqueness. It just means "without like or equal"

"(and ignoring the strict definition of the word)" nevermind.

A Nairn (moretap), Friday, 5 November 2004 21:52 (twenty-one years ago)

unique up on it.

mark p (Mark P), Friday, 5 November 2004 21:54 (twenty-one years ago)

yeah!

adam... (nordicskilla), Friday, 5 November 2004 21:55 (twenty-one years ago)

I have a unique smell.

Jeff-PTTL (Jeff), Friday, 5 November 2004 21:56 (twenty-one years ago)

i used to know a russian comedian with tourette's syndrome who had about ten jokes like this. he always started with that one. i wish i could remember the rest.

xpost.

mark p (Mark P), Friday, 5 November 2004 21:57 (twenty-one years ago)

A Russian comedian with tourette's syndrome walks into a bar...

adam... (nordicskilla), Friday, 5 November 2004 21:58 (twenty-one years ago)

Wait...he STARTED with that one? Just to get everyone good and warmed up for the funny MOTHERLODE that would follow?

adam... (nordicskilla), Friday, 5 November 2004 21:58 (twenty-one years ago)

no, like in conversation, when he'd start telling jokes and he'd get to the pun portion, he'd always start with the unique one. there was a sequence. it was all very well thought out.

mark p (Mark P), Friday, 5 November 2004 22:00 (twenty-one years ago)

how do you catch a tame rabbit?

mark p (Mark P), Friday, 5 November 2004 22:03 (twenty-one years ago)

tame way.

mark p (Mark P), Friday, 5 November 2004 22:03 (twenty-one years ago)

don't you mean

"how do FUCK FUCK you catch a COCK rabbit?"

etc.

adam... (nordicskilla), Friday, 5 November 2004 22:04 (twenty-one years ago)

no, i'm remembering now, it wasn't tourette's (believe it or not that was someone else)

he had m.s.

mark p (Mark P), Friday, 5 November 2004 22:06 (twenty-one years ago)

actually, wait, maybe he had tourette's too?

it was a long time ago.

mark p (Mark P), Friday, 5 November 2004 22:07 (twenty-one years ago)

adam... (nordicskilla), Friday, 5 November 2004 22:07 (twenty-one years ago)

*@*.* (gareth), Friday, 5 November 2004 22:09 (twenty-one years ago)

Aww. That's sad.

Nowell (Nowell), Friday, 5 November 2004 22:14 (twenty-one years ago)

can't wait too long

*@*.* (gareth), Friday, 5 November 2004 22:15 (twenty-one years ago)
