Nowell (Nowell), Friday, 5 November 2004 21:50 (twenty-one years ago)

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Friday, 5 November 2004 22:02 (twenty-one years ago)

Don't be scared off by the ho's!

Aaron W (Aaron W), Friday, 5 November 2004 22:06 (twenty-one years ago)

Ask your doctor if ILX is right for you.

jaymc (jaymc), Friday, 5 November 2004 22:07 (twenty-one years ago)

Ha-ha.
Y'know, I'm just analyze everything way too much. Blah blah blah blah.

Nowell (Nowell), Friday, 5 November 2004 22:17 (twenty-one years ago)

i've had that feeling before, too. not that i'm one of the old time greats . . . basically i feel that if ned tells you that you seem nice, that's all you need.
ned to thread?

kelsey (kelstarry), Friday, 5 November 2004 22:19 (twenty-one years ago)

Who is Ned?

Nowell (Nowell), Friday, 5 November 2004 22:22 (twenty-one years ago)

Never heard of him.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Friday, 5 November 2004 22:51 (twenty-one years ago)

Nhed Rhaggett

adam... (nordicskilla), Friday, 5 November 2004 22:52 (twenty-one years ago)

Oh, it's you. Sorry.

Nowell (Nowell), Friday, 5 November 2004 22:53 (twenty-one years ago)

I'm sorry too.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Friday, 5 November 2004 22:54 (twenty-one years ago)

For what?

Nowell (Nowell), Friday, 5 November 2004 22:55 (twenty-one years ago)

Nowell, I think you need a paper route!

planescapin' 'til dawn (Homosexual II), Friday, 5 November 2004 22:57 (twenty-one years ago)

What?

Nowell (Nowell), Friday, 5 November 2004 22:58 (twenty-one years ago)

A hauntingly familiar echo.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Friday, 5 November 2004 22:58 (twenty-one years ago)

Funny.

Nowell (Nowell), Friday, 5 November 2004 22:59 (twenty-one years ago)

Nowell, do you ever think anything you don't post?

From a Land of Grass Without Mirrors (AaronHz), Friday, 5 November 2004 23:00 (twenty-one years ago)

I never actually pay attention if people on messageboards like me.

Which might actually be why many of them don't.
Oops : /

trigonalmayhem (trigonalmayhem), Friday, 5 November 2004 23:01 (twenty-one years ago)

X post
Yes, a LOT.

Nowell (Nowell), Friday, 5 November 2004 23:02 (twenty-one years ago)

A lot what?

From a Land of Grass Without Mirrors (AaronHz), Friday, 5 November 2004 23:03 (twenty-one years ago)

A lot of what I think, I don't post.

Nowell (Nowell), Friday, 5 November 2004 23:04 (twenty-one years ago)

You think?

From a Land of Grass Without Mirrors (AaronHz), Friday, 5 November 2004 23:05 (twenty-one years ago)

I don't!

trigonalmayhem (trigonalmayhem), Friday, 5 November 2004 23:05 (twenty-one years ago)

Don't what?

From a Land of Grass Without Mirrors (AaronHz), Friday, 5 November 2004 23:06 (twenty-one years ago)

There's plenty of stuff I don't post about on ILX. Some of this stuff I'd like to make threads about, but some of it is just too embarassing. Or something.

Nowell (Nowell), Friday, 5 November 2004 23:06 (twenty-one years ago)

I don't what?

trigonalmayhem (trigonalmayhem), Friday, 5 November 2004 23:07 (twenty-one years ago)

Define something.

From a Land of Grass Without Mirrors (AaronHz), Friday, 5 November 2004 23:08 (twenty-one years ago)

Define something

Jonathan (Jonathan), Sunday, 7 November 2004 20:25 (twenty-one years ago)

Nhed Rhaggett

Every time Ned posts something that doesn't sound 100% like a stereotypical Ned post, I have to double-check every letter of the name and email to make myself sure that it isn't just Calum fucking about.

caitlin (caitlin), Sunday, 7 November 2004 20:28 (twenty-one years ago)

Heh. I like the fact I appear to have a brand name now. ;-)

Ned Raggett (Ned), Sunday, 7 November 2004 20:29 (twenty-one years ago)

Dear Nowell,

You are hereby banned from starting threads about yourself and how you're perceived on ILX. If you're a troll, you'll ignore this anyway, obv, but if you're for real, then seriously, take this lesson about interacting with grown-ups - attention seeking tends to be a bad thing and people don't appreciate it.

If you do feel the need to talk about the you/ILX interface (and obviously you do, even though it's not a very attractive trait) then please revive one of the other threads about you. But only if you've got a good reason, alright? Otherwise it becomes self-fulfilling and we WILL want you off ILX because you're a tedious, immature solipsist.

Markelby (Mark C), Sunday, 7 November 2004 20:40 (twenty-one years ago)

And yes, I do appreciate the enormous irnoing of almost everything I just said.

Markelby (Mark C), Sunday, 7 November 2004 20:40 (twenty-one years ago)

markelby to thread, oh wait....

(xpost)

ailsa (ailsa), Sunday, 7 November 2004 20:41 (twenty-one years ago)

Also, let me rephrase that - you're not always a tedious immature solipsist, but you're doing it too mcuh and you have to stop otherwise we'll get rapidly sick of you.

Markelby (Mark C), Sunday, 7 November 2004 20:41 (twenty-one years ago)

Cheers Ails :)

Markelby (Mark C), Sunday, 7 November 2004 20:41 (twenty-one years ago)

haha, you know I love you :)

ailsa (ailsa), Sunday, 7 November 2004 20:42 (twenty-one years ago)

Markelby, if she really is who she says she is (and I think she is), there's about a 10% chance she'll even come back and read any new answers on this thread. But that's good advice for her, harsh as it may be.

the apex of nadirs (Rock Hardy), Monday, 8 November 2004 00:21 (twenty-one years ago)

Let me add that by saying "I don't know if ILX is right for me" you're taking the whole thing way too seriously. ILX is not a prospective spouse or a psychatrist. You can have precisely the ammount of emotional involvement with it as you choose to. I use it as a fun thing, something to be dipped in and out of when I fancy having a chat with a whole load of people I've never met.

If you thought of ILX as more of an enjoyable passtime and less as your personal counsellor, I guarentee you that you'd do a lot better.

Wooden (Wooden), Monday, 8 November 2004 00:50 (twenty-one years ago)

Also, there is by no means any kind of conspiracy to drive you off the board.

Wooden (Wooden), Monday, 8 November 2004 00:57 (twenty-one years ago)

"ILX is not a prospective spouse or a psychatrist."

Au contraire. It's the number one spot on the internet for people to work through their "am I rockist, and if so please absolve me of my sins!" neuroses. And where else but ILX can people hung up on washed up, tenth-rate, minor league bands from a quarter century ago be encouraged to exhort "honor the fire!" ad nauseam?

Lewshabadoo, Monday, 8 November 2004 01:03 (twenty-one years ago)

Nowell, I don't meant to be patronising, but you're the most paranoid person I've come across in a long time. Have a look at meditation.

Adamdrome Crankypants (Autumn Almanac), Monday, 8 November 2004 01:05 (twenty-one years ago)

deserves to be posted up top, <H1>, on the ilxor boards page, with <blink>, and <marquee> elements as far as the eye can see.

Remy (x Jeremy), Monday, 8 November 2004 02:18 (twenty-one years ago)

NO BLINK TAGS!! AAaHHHH!!

**hides in the corner with eyes squeezed shut**

lyra (lyra), Monday, 8 November 2004 03:07 (twenty-one years ago)

Nowell, I think everyone wonders if what they say comes over as intended. I do, certainly. It's hard to know cos you can't judge tone of voice accurately on a messageboard. Don't think a few negative reactions means a whole legion of pissed-off ilxors out there - negative reactions are always overrepresented. I wouldn't worry. Just to be clear: this post was not typed in a patronising tone of voice. But it probably will come over like that.

beanz (beanz), Monday, 8 November 2004 11:26 (twenty-one years ago)

Ok. I got it.
