Places to go in San Francisco Bay

My friend is coming over from Jersey for a couple of days and I don't want to take her to places that are tourist traps(i.e. Fisherman's Wharf). I might take her to downtown Berkeley and maybe Lake Merritt. Any suggestions?

Oakland's Chinatown is a lot less hectic than SF's but just as good. Rasputin's and Amoeba are good places to take people because you get a good "BAY AREA VIBE."

I thought all the chaos was the point of SF's chinatown. I expect my chinatown trip to give me both an MSG headache and a people headache, otherwise it wouldn't be complete.

i thot you meant like islands and other stuff IN sf bay, ie. alcatraz, treasure island, angel island, sharks, etc.
