Any chance we could just IGNORE CALUM from now on?

I mean, all of us, just leave him to unanswered threads and deathly silences rather than giving his hate to wank over. This is the thread where you pledge to just ignore the pointless little twat.

1. Markelby

Markelby (Mark C), Monday, 8 November 2004 11:58 (twenty-one years ago)

I am of course aware this feeds right into his 'you're all obsessed with me!' schtick but I agree wholeheartedly nonetheless. Its getting hugely annoying how the same people can't resist piling straight into Calum threads, taking the piss or otherwise (yes Ken C I am looking at you).

Matt DC (Matt DC), Monday, 8 November 2004 12:00 (twenty-one years ago)

2. Kevin - unless Callum seeks redemption (starting a new identity not bogged down in you adolescent crap might help, Callum, and try to act like a decent guy for a change)

Kevin Gilchrist (Mr Fusion), Monday, 8 November 2004 12:03 (twenty-one years ago)

I like calum though! he gives good head

ken c (ken c), Monday, 8 November 2004 12:23 (twenty-one years ago)

3. An erstwhile serial offender: Fred Nerk

Fred Nerk (Fred Nerk), Monday, 8 November 2004 12:25 (twenty-one years ago)

I don't know who Calum is.

PJ Miller (PJ Miller), Monday, 8 November 2004 12:36 (twenty-one years ago)

ignorance is a two-way street

Freelance Hiveminder (blueski), Monday, 8 November 2004 12:48 (twenty-one years ago)

That last is the problem - it's not always clear that a post is from Calum. But I think if we ignore the obvious ones, where the combination of misogyny and stupidity is blatant, this will be a good thing. I've been trying to do it for a while. I think most people are bored with it all by now.

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Monday, 8 November 2004 12:48 (twenty-one years ago)

'The last' meant PJ's post, not Steve's, by the way.

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Monday, 8 November 2004 12:48 (twenty-one years ago)

they are not going to be ignored. a more realistic solution might be to make ILX registered-user only as was mooted a while back. if this doesn't happen then i'd expect a thread like this to re-occur 6 months from now...

Freelance Hiveminder (blueski), Monday, 8 November 2004 12:52 (twenty-one years ago)

a more realistic solution might be to make ILX registered-user only as was mooted a while back

?

ken c (ken c), Monday, 8 November 2004 12:53 (twenty-one years ago)

oh yeah i guess it'd make registering multiple usernames harder

ken c (ken c), Monday, 8 November 2004 12:54 (twenty-one years ago)

Are we allowed to start calumlike threads so that you lot can see if you can spot which ones are c-man & which ones aren't?!!

PinXorchiXoR (Pinkpanther), Monday, 8 November 2004 13:26 (twenty-one years ago)

Why don't we just rename the place to I Love Calum and make a rule that every thread has to be about him?

The Ghost of Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Monday, 8 November 2004 13:29 (twenty-one years ago)

Oh yes can we...?!!

PinXorchiXoR (Pinkpanther), Monday, 8 November 2004 13:30 (twenty-one years ago)

A much better idea is just to ignore all boring threads / posts. Including this one. Damn!

Momus (Momus), Monday, 8 November 2004 13:31 (twenty-one years ago)

Calum who?

nickalicious has been on this wagon already for awhile now (nickalicious), Monday, 8 November 2004 13:31 (twenty-one years ago)

i love dan perry (that is not a suggestion for a board .. although why not)

ken c (ken c), Monday, 8 November 2004 13:31 (twenty-one years ago)

i knew this was gonna be a markebly thread. sigh.

:| (....), Monday, 8 November 2004 13:35 (twenty-one years ago)

let's have another markelby thread too

ken c (ken c), Monday, 8 November 2004 13:36 (twenty-one years ago)

Why "sigh", frog-with-mohawk? Am I boring you?

Markelby (Mark C), Monday, 8 November 2004 13:41 (twenty-one years ago)

frog with mohawk!

Freelance Hiveminder (blueski), Monday, 8 November 2004 13:44 (twenty-one years ago)

Its clearly a duck.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Monday, 8 November 2004 14:23 (twenty-one years ago)

I usually ignore the rude ones anyway, but I did click on one and got taken to some pay as you go porn site that installs one of those premium rate diallers, which I wasn't very pleased about. My own fault though, and I suppose this would go down as a success for whoever set it up. The rude stuff, whether sex-related or personal hygiene, tends to make me want to disown the board or whatever, but then I'd miss the good bits, so I suppose I have to lump it. But I don't like it, I'm ashamed to be associated with it.

PJ Miller (PJ Miller), Monday, 8 November 2004 14:24 (twenty-one years ago)

it's definitely not a gareth (xpost)

Freelance Hiveminder (blueski), Monday, 8 November 2004 14:25 (twenty-one years ago)

first i had to teach myself to ignore calum, then i had to teach myself to ignore the posts that don't ignore calum. it's hard work.

weasel diesel (K1l14n), Monday, 8 November 2004 14:32 (twenty-one years ago)

you forgot to ignore the fact that you've ignored the posts that don't ignore calum, weasel

ken c (ken c), Monday, 8 November 2004 14:34 (twenty-one years ago)

Im just fucken sick and tired of all you middle class wankers having a go at Calum who is ace and exposes all the hipocrysy in ilmx. He is a TURD COLUMIST who searches out the shit everywhere. He speaks the truth and you are all just figments of his imagination. Go back to the park and wank over your junior boys before i call the pedo police and have you all cunts gastrated.

Polemical Pam, Monday, 8 November 2004 14:41 (twenty-one years ago)

carry on

Freelance Hiveminder (blueski), Monday, 8 November 2004 14:43 (twenty-one years ago)

stop

Jaunty Alan (Alan), Monday, 8 November 2004 15:00 (twenty-one years ago)

WAAAP

Freelance Hiveminder (blueski), Monday, 8 November 2004 15:01 (twenty-one years ago)

(the correct response was actually "drop/open up shop")

The Ghost of Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Monday, 8 November 2004 15:02 (twenty-one years ago)

"he is a turd columist" part was OTM though. apart from the "he is" bit which implied third person

ken c (ken c), Monday, 8 November 2004 15:03 (twenty-one years ago)

sorry i mean.. pause

ken c (ken c), Monday, 8 November 2004 15:03 (twenty-one years ago)

"gastrated"? The cops'll eat us?

Kevin Gilchrist (Mr Fusion), Monday, 8 November 2004 15:04 (twenty-one years ago)

yeah, I'll ignore him, as I have been doing for the most part, that is if by "ignore" you mean "LOL like a drain when he gets j-pwned pwnz0r3d pizwn3d yet again"

Pashmina (Pashmina), Monday, 8 November 2004 15:09 (twenty-one years ago)

I thought this was a Calum thread

TOMBOT, Monday, 8 November 2004 15:16 (twenty-one years ago)

I wish it weren't.

RJG (RJG), Monday, 8 November 2004 15:22 (twenty-one years ago)

Please don't compare my turdlike actions to his sub-turdlike actions, thanks!

Spinning Down Alone You Spin Alive (ex machina), Monday, 8 November 2004 15:24 (twenty-one years ago)

I dont have to carry on. Im not like you middle class wankers saying the same thing 200 times over, kittens want fun grzoink. What Im saying is Calum speaks THE TRYTH and thats what you cant handle. I bet you never even liked the Levelers, they spoke THE TRUTH but you cunts were probubly too busy listening to soem acid dance shit like Right Thread Said.

Polemical Pam, Monday, 8 November 2004 15:25 (twenty-one years ago)

is a subturd like a sub sandwich?

ken c (ken c), Monday, 8 November 2004 15:25 (twenty-one years ago)

Is THE TRYTH like THE TRUTH or not? Is it the Irish version of THE TRUTH?

Sick Mouthy (Nick Southall), Monday, 8 November 2004 15:29 (twenty-one years ago)

I didn't know that the geezer, Calum, was still around.

I must have been ignoring him?

the bellefox, Monday, 8 November 2004 15:34 (twenty-one years ago)

sounds like something you'd do

Freelance Hiveminder (blueski), Monday, 8 November 2004 15:36 (twenty-one years ago)

Isn't exposing hypocricy on ILX a bit like exposing hypocricy on the teletubbies?

mark grout (mark grout), Monday, 8 November 2004 15:42 (twenty-one years ago)

Is he the green one?

Penelope_111 (Penelope_111), Monday, 8 November 2004 15:43 (twenty-one years ago)

"exposing". "hypocrisy".

Pashmina (Pashmina), Monday, 8 November 2004 15:43 (twenty-one years ago)

Tinky-Winky opposes gay marriage and doesn't care who knows it.

Freelance Hiveminder (blueski), Monday, 8 November 2004 15:44 (twenty-one years ago)

BOOBAH YOU CORNY FUX xpost

Spinning Down Alone You Spin Alive (ex machina), Monday, 8 November 2004 15:44 (twenty-one years ago)

Matt DC (Matt DC), Monday, 8 November 2004 15:48 (twenty-one years ago)

ken c (ken c), Monday, 8 November 2004 15:56 (twenty-one years ago)

828 answers by nightfall on how to ignore calum.

doomie x, Monday, 8 November 2004 15:57 (twenty-one years ago)

Hi Doomie!

Markelby (Mark C), Monday, 8 November 2004 16:28 (twenty-one years ago)

I don't often read calum threads, oh well.

jel -- (jel), Monday, 8 November 2004 17:34 (twenty-one years ago)

This was my idea many moons ago. Ned said it was unworkable.

oops (Oops), Monday, 8 November 2004 17:52 (twenty-one years ago)

cos there will always be newer people not wise to his little routine, only to eager to respond.

parents often ignore kids when they're nagging for something don't they? i hate that

Freelance Hiveminder (blueski), Monday, 8 November 2004 17:54 (twenty-one years ago)

he doesn't bother me at all. how could anyone be seriously bothered by anything so transparent?

Spinning Down Alone You Spin Alive (ex machina), Monday, 8 November 2004 17:56 (twenty-one years ago)

yes, and then my point was that even if there are some new ilxors who respond to him, he usually stays confined to a particular thread or two.
so, if someone who doesn't know better responds to him, what's the terrible thing that happens then? His influence seeps over the rest of ILE???

oops (Oops), Monday, 8 November 2004 17:57 (twenty-one years ago)

There aren't that many new ilxors on a daily basis. Or perhaps there are and they see that some silly wind-up has elicted 150 responses and they don't bother sticking around, just saying.

jel -- (jel), Monday, 8 November 2004 18:08 (twenty-one years ago)

so, to recap:

feeding a troll only makes it hungrier.
ignoring it doesn't make it go away.
starting threads about it doesn't help either.

Freelance Hiveminder (blueski), Monday, 8 November 2004 18:32 (twenty-one years ago)

Oooh. Is Calum guilty of starting a popular thread and holding an unpopular opinion? Is that why I was assumed to be Calum earlier?

Noticer of Things, Monday, 8 November 2004 18:38 (twenty-one years ago)

Ha, this is the bomb. Utterly hilarious. All I can say is a big thankyou to Markelby for once again proving that ILX is obsessed.

The funniest thing of all is the misogyny accusations. What I would say shows a lack of respect for women is degrading to them to be your own little fuck-buddies like... oh yeah, that nice little Martin "three in a bed, I'm a slut" Skidmark. Tell me, what shows more respect? A four year plus relationship that has lasted through different world places and areas of the country or someone who thinks so much of himself and the opposite sex as to admit that he'd "be a slut" and engage on a threesome - thus, in my opinion at least, taking any sort of love, trust or compassion out of sex? Anyway, I'm not here to talk about my romantic ideals and all that, but my point is that Skidmark sounds like a bit of a prat really - and one with little respect for women.

But I'm here to say "yeah Holly Valance wow" as any guy in a pub does. Hahaha, shit you guys should hear the stuff that comes out of the women's mouths I know! About other women too - it's great catty stuff, but God forbid ILX knows any real people.

Markelby - ha, what an idiot. Cannot ignore a few threads on an internet chat room. What? You not got the self control? ILX means so much to you that you actually think the odd thread ruins your life and you need to start this shit up? A thread about someone you don't know? HILARIOUS. Grow up man, there's more to life than this silly little forum. Same goes for Ned, who can slag me off all he wants but from my vantage point is nearly always on here and wants to date via Friendster. C'mon chaps and chappettes - he lives in LA and can't pull? You need more of a character profile?

Y'know, thing is, ILX is kinda fun. It's a laugh, there's some informed opinions on here and even guys like Norm seem like they'd be pretty cool in person. Now and again he's made me laugh, same with Ally and some others. Momus is hilarious, a very wise chap - there's good folk on here. Just don't let the nerds ruin it. And stop obsessing over me ok? Having the time to photoshop images onto pictures just indicates to me that you've maybe got too much time on your hands. As I have right now, I admit, hence this dumbass long post.

Hahaha, Monday, 8 November 2004 19:18 (twenty-one years ago)

So how's Essex?

Ned Raggett (Ned), Monday, 8 November 2004 19:21 (twenty-one years ago)

it only takes a few minutes to photoshop your head onto that of a baby. how long does it take you to compose all this nonsense?
