because I know I'd just get them dirty

fact checking cuz (fcc), Tuesday, 9 November 2004 02:46 (twenty years ago)

why do so many cool and awesome and classy looking shoes have such stupid looking rounded and bubby ugly-ass soles these days?

Dan Selzer (Dan Selzer), Tuesday, 9 November 2004 02:49 (twenty years ago)

I know! Streamline those damn shoes/boots, I say. The boots I posted would be even better (classic/timeless) and harder to resist if the soles weren't so bubbly, for sure.

rrrobyn (rrrobyn), Tuesday, 9 November 2004 02:54 (twenty years ago)

those teal boots up above are positively delightful!

trigonalmayhem (trigonalmayhem), Tuesday, 9 November 2004 02:56 (twenty years ago)

These would be perfect if not for the sheepsfur (and they come in blue suede too! fack.)

rrrobyn (rrrobyn), Tuesday, 9 November 2004 03:02 (twenty years ago)

yeah, the fur makes them look too much like ugz

but the design of the actual boot is nice other than that

trigonalmayhem (trigonalmayhem), Tuesday, 9 November 2004 03:03 (twenty years ago)

This winter is all about wearing pink kittens on your feet though.

damn, I thought this thread was "post your booty"

wetmink (wetmink), Tuesday, 9 November 2004 03:09 (twenty years ago)

Procrastinating via online shoe shopping is great. But I just realized that the Cdn dollar is doing really well now so, in fact, my fantasy online shopping could actually be done as a, y'know, real thing, with actual purchases. Oh. No.

those pink things are downright hideous, though.

that kind of booty?

trigonalmayhem (trigonalmayhem), Tuesday, 9 November 2004 03:14 (twenty years ago)

whoops.

rrrobyn (rrrobyn), Tuesday, 9 November 2004 03:15 (twenty years ago)

Those pink things are something awful, it's true. But they match j-lo's underwear. I am scared.

rrrobyn (rrrobyn), Tuesday, 9 November 2004 03:16 (twenty years ago)

I'm sure J-LO might wear them

out in public, even.

which is why she deserves a hearty J-LOL. For being so terrible.

trigonalmayhem (trigonalmayhem), Tuesday, 9 November 2004 03:17 (twenty years ago)

These are pretty classic (and prob comfortable.) (I have to stop this now. Or soon.)

Ah, Sorels... I am seriously considering this anti-fashion jump this winter. I've almost convinced myself Sorels could be fashionable. I've also almost convinced myself that I don't care. I just want warm feet.

Compliment I accidentally gave to someone the other day:

"I love your boots. They're so ... um ... ... booty?"

caitlin (caitlin), Tuesday, 9 November 2004 08:05 (twenty years ago)

i just bought these:

These are like my favorite of my boots, except that mine are approximately six years old now.

nickalicious (nickalicious), Tuesday, 9 November 2004 14:04 (twenty years ago)

I like your boots, Colette! They are tuff, but not too tuff. What brand are they?
I also like your boots, Liz - they look soft. It would be nice to have many pairs of boots, for different moods.

Here is the mood of 'it's fcking freezing outside and will be for 4 months, so screw fashion'. I'm seriously thinking about buying these:
http://www.zappos.com/images/457/7130457/1729-66228-d.jpg
Am I mental?

rrrobyn (rrrobyn), Tuesday, 9 November 2004 16:36 (twenty years ago)

I think they could rock as long as you don't go too Arctic-nerd with the clothing.

Liz :x (Liz :x), Tuesday, 9 November 2004 16:39 (twenty years ago)

haha - I say No to arctic-nerd. They'd be good with skirts, which I wear often, even in winter. Just that they're such a committment to real winter - and therefore kind of a committment to this part of Canada, like I'd have to live here for another couple years if these boots were in my life. I'm not ready to commit! Am going to stick with old boots for now (oh, the analogy...)

rrrobyn (rrrobyn), Tuesday, 9 November 2004 17:02 (twenty years ago)

rrobin, prefect cold weather boots and not nearly as hideos as they can be

Alba (Alba), Tuesday, 9 November 2004 19:00 (twenty years ago)

I'm not sure that jeans tucked in is such a good look for you, Alba.

Madchen (Madchen), Wednesday, 10 November 2004 09:03 (twenty years ago)

Ha ha - they're not tucked in. I was just liiting my leg up and it kind of fell that way.

Alba (Alba), Wednesday, 10 November 2004 09:30 (twenty years ago)

two years pass...

Back to top! Boots are a hot topic!

KitCat, Thursday, 27 September 2007 13:38 (eighteen years ago)

Or I thought they were! Anyway...

My black tall boots have gotten all scraped up over the years and demand replacement. My requirements:
* up to below my knee (and I'm tall, so I need a long shalf, lol)
* flat or very low heel (see above)
* dark brown maybe this time, though black is always a winner
* less than $200

KitCat, Thursday, 27 September 2007 14:50 (eighteen years ago)

check dsw. you've got them in chi, yes? they can be madhouses, but loads of boots are in right now. i was at one last night and saw a few that meet your specs.

lauren, Thursday, 27 September 2007 14:59 (eighteen years ago)

Sarah, you can go for a bit of a heel, trust me on this :)

Mark C, Thursday, 27 September 2007 15:02 (eighteen years ago)

Ha ha. Well, my last ones had a little bit of heel.
