haha - I say No to arctic-nerd. They'd be good with skirts, which I wear often, even in winter. Just that they're such a committment to real winter - and therefore kind of a committment to this part of Canada, like I'd have to live here for another couple years if these boots were in my life. I'm not ready to commit! Am going to stick with old boots for now (oh, the analogy...)

* up to below my knee (and I'm tall, so I need a long shalf, lol)
* flat or very low heel (see above)
* dark brown maybe this time, though black is always a winner
