What's that about?

Nowell (Nowell), Wednesday, 10 November 2004 19:32 (twenty-one years ago)

most girls i "know" are 5"2

JaXoN (JasonD), Wednesday, 10 November 2004 19:35 (twenty-one years ago)

when standing on their diapers!

Remy (x Jeremy), Wednesday, 10 November 2004 19:36 (twenty-one years ago)

I mean "grown-up" people.

Nowell (Nowell), Wednesday, 10 November 2004 19:38 (twenty-one years ago)

maybe you have disproportionately long legs. i am about 5'10'' but some people have thought i am over 6 feet!

caitlin oh no (caitxa1), Wednesday, 10 November 2004 19:39 (twenty-one years ago)

I'm a grown-up person and I'm only a little bit taller than you.

adam... (nordicskilla), Wednesday, 10 November 2004 19:40 (twenty-one years ago)

This doctor told me that I'm taller than 75% of girls my age, and he also said that that's just by mainland standards. He said I'm probably taller than 90% of girls my age on Kauai.
But I wish I had been taller.

Nowell (Nowell), Wednesday, 10 November 2004 19:41 (twenty-one years ago)

You are a hobbit.

Leon the Fratboy (Ex Leon), Wednesday, 10 November 2004 19:41 (twenty-one years ago)

Ah, shut up. I'm tall.

Nowell (Nowell), Wednesday, 10 November 2004 19:42 (twenty-one years ago)

You can ride the tilt-a-whirl!

Huk-L, Wednesday, 10 November 2004 19:43 (twenty-one years ago)

I don't feel tall. I look so dainty compared to my brothers. Not that that's a bad thing.

Nowell (Nowell), Wednesday, 10 November 2004 19:44 (twenty-one years ago)

This is sort of off-topic, Nowell, but have you gone back to read the new answers at the "I'm just asking" thread you started last week?

the apex of nadirs (Rock Hardy), Wednesday, 10 November 2004 19:44 (twenty-one years ago)

5'6 would be tall for a hobbit, I'm just answering the question.

Leon the Fratboy (Ex Leon), Wednesday, 10 November 2004 19:46 (twenty-one years ago)

Nope. Might as well. Why I started this thread, I don't know. But that's what I think about a lot of the threads I start.

Nowell (Nowell), Wednesday, 10 November 2004 19:46 (twenty-one years ago)

Wear horizontal stripes, cut your hair short and gain 50 pounds. You will no longer look tall.

Thermo Thinwall (Thermo Thinwall), Wednesday, 10 November 2004 19:47 (twenty-one years ago)

You can always wear some of those big goofy-bottomed shoes too, Nowell.

nickalicious (nickalicious), Wednesday, 10 November 2004 19:50 (twenty-one years ago)

Anyway, I'm 6'4", if this was a real room I'd be looking down at the top of your head right now.

nickalicious (nickalicious), Wednesday, 10 November 2004 19:52 (twenty-one years ago)

LSTD (answer) (sexyDancer), Wednesday, 10 November 2004 19:52 (twenty-one years ago)

I am 5'7", but I wanted to be 5'8".

Cathy (Cathy), Wednesday, 10 November 2004 19:54 (twenty-one years ago)

i read about a sad twin who was in love with his indentical-except-for-the-fact-that-he-was-an-inch-taller twin brother.

:'(

jed_ (jed), Wednesday, 10 November 2004 19:56 (twenty-one years ago)

I'm 5'11" and everyone seems to be noticing it lately. I was at Barnes & N0ble and some guy approached me and asked, "What are you? 6'2"? No, 6'1"? 6'2", right? I was right. You're 6'2"." I answered, "No, I'm 5'11"," and tried to walk away, but he followed me. "There's no way you're only 5'11". Unfortunately, the conversation didn't end soon enough after that.

And just now, I was in a meeting with a representative from a freight company, and he said, " 5'11" or 6'? Which is it?"

I always enjoy going out on the town with my Dad, who is 6'8", because I get to feel little again beside him, and I get to listen to all the old ladies ask him if he played basketball in high school.

Anyway, 5'6" sounds only slightly above average to me. Where do you live, Nowell?

Sarah McLusky (coco), Wednesday, 10 November 2004 20:11 (twenty-one years ago)

i hate the basketball question. i have to explain how i'm the world's most uncoordinated human being.

caitlin oh no (caitxa1), Wednesday, 10 November 2004 20:14 (twenty-one years ago)

The worst is when, halfway through a game, the dudes who picked you because you're so circus tall finally realize you weren't shitting them when you told them you couldn't shoot for shit.

nickalicious (nickalicious), Wednesday, 10 November 2004 20:18 (twenty-one years ago)

i'm only 5"6 and no-one says i'm tall. someone i'd known for 5 years once said "you're taller than i thought", tho.

m. (mitchlnw), Wednesday, 10 November 2004 20:22 (twenty-one years ago)

has anyone ever said "you're taller that jed_"?

jed_ (jed), Wednesday, 10 November 2004 20:31 (twenty-one years ago)

I would like to be tall, but it was not meant to be.

adam... (nordicskilla), Wednesday, 10 November 2004 20:33 (twenty-one years ago)

I have three female friends who are 5'11" or 6' tall. That seems like a lot. Not that I'm complaining.

People say I'm tall all the time, but I seem to always feel shorter.

Jeff-PTTL (Jeff), Wednesday, 10 November 2004 21:06 (twenty-one years ago)

That's because your girlfriend is tall.

jaymc (jaymc), Wednesday, 10 November 2004 21:07 (twenty-one years ago)

How tall are you, Jeff? You don't seem tall. Also I had a dream with you in it, it's on the ILX dreams thread.

n/a (Nick A.), Wednesday, 10 November 2004 21:09 (twenty-one years ago)

She's 5'6", I think. I'm 6' even. She talks more than I do, so she may seem taller.

Jeff-PTTL (Jeff), Wednesday, 10 November 2004 21:10 (twenty-one years ago)

Hmm, she seems taller than that, and you seem shorter. Interesting. Kind of. But not really.

n/a (Nick A.), Wednesday, 10 November 2004 21:17 (twenty-one years ago)

Even a lot of guys around where I live are shorter than me.

Nowell (Nowell), Wednesday, 10 November 2004 21:26 (twenty-one years ago)

Are they all surfer dudes who get their spines shortened by wiping out a lot?

the apex of nadirs (Rock Hardy), Wednesday, 10 November 2004 22:04 (twenty-one years ago)

yes, i agree, with n/a.

rjgaymc (jaymc), Wednesday, 10 November 2004 22:10 (twenty-one years ago)

(That's too confusing. You should just be 'gaymc'.)

n/gay (Nick A.), Wednesday, 10 November 2004 22:11 (twenty-one years ago)

awesome! And it's your rapper name, too. You'll be a trailblazer in the field.

Kenan (kenan), Wednesday, 10 November 2004 22:13 (twenty-one years ago)

About that snuggling...

gaymc (jaymc), Wednesday, 10 November 2004 22:17 (twenty-one years ago)

Back in high school I knew this mulatto girl who was way taller than me, and I'm 5'11". She was gorgeous.

Tuomas (Tuomas), Wednesday, 10 November 2004 22:20 (twenty-one years ago)

do you wear high heeled shoes Nowell?

I am not sure how tall I am, to be honest. 5'6"" or 5'6 1/2" maybe. Taller than either my parents. I come from a long line of shortarses.

MarkH can't believe no-one else has asked yet (MarkH), Thursday, 11 November 2004 08:35 (twenty-one years ago)

SIX FEET OF FURY!

but I don't feel very tall. I think people around here are abnormally tall on average, because I don't really have an easy time seeing over heads at concerts.

trigonalmayhem (trigonalmayhem), Thursday, 11 November 2004 08:38 (twenty-one years ago)

Six feet of fury too! Sarah and I are identical in height to the millimetre. It's good for my posture.

Markelby (Mark C), Thursday, 11 November 2004 11:47 (twenty-one years ago)

sarah's at least 2 cm taller than you mark

ken c (ken c), Thursday, 11 November 2004 11:54 (twenty-one years ago)

i feel short around sarah. we had a 'back to back' thing on election night, and she's quite a bit taller. which is confusing, because i'm pretty sure i'm 5'11 and a half. but she seemed way more than half an inch taller than me.

kate (masonic boom) is someone that i always think of as a 'tall girl,' but she's not really. i've had this conversation with her at least twice where i assume she's like 5'10, maybe 5'9. but she's several inches shorter than that. so maybe nowell just seems taller the way that kate does?

colette (a2lette), Thursday, 11 November 2004 11:54 (twenty-one years ago)

Kate is not several inches shorter than that, Colette - she's what, 5'8", 5'7" at the absolute smallest?

I dunno, maybe Sarah's been humouring me. I'm pretty sure I'm dead on 6', and she says she's 6' too, and back to back we seem the same. She might be slouching though.

Markelby (Mark C), Thursday, 11 November 2004 11:58 (twenty-one years ago)

Man, Y'all are taller than me!!

PinXorchiXoR (Pinkpanther), Thursday, 11 November 2004 12:35 (twenty-one years ago)
