Just wondering. Sorry for the lame post.

jay blanchard (jay blanchard), Friday, 12 November 2004 21:44 (twenty-one years ago)

I wonder if I'm the only ILX-er from Kauai.

Nowell (Nowell), Friday, 12 November 2004 21:47 (twenty-one years ago)

Jim Wentworth's in Vermont, unless I'm very wrong. (If not, then he's in that tiny bit of New Hampshire that touches Canada.)

Ned Raggett (Ned), Friday, 12 November 2004 21:48 (twenty-one years ago)

We can join forces to become the ILX Kauai/Vermont Coalition of the Willing...

jay blanchard (jay blanchard), Friday, 12 November 2004 21:48 (twenty-one years ago)

Willing what?

Nowell (Nowell), Friday, 12 November 2004 21:49 (twenty-one years ago)

Also, I'm guessing VermontGirl is from VT? Although she mostly posts on ILB, I think.

jaymc (jaymc), Friday, 12 November 2004 21:50 (twenty-one years ago)

I'll have to get in touch with Jim. We can hunt deer, milk cows, eat maple syrup on Ben & Jerry's ice cream, get a civil union, watch the foliage & be socialists together.

jay blanchard (jay blanchard), Friday, 12 November 2004 21:50 (twenty-one years ago)

Also, Howard Dean posted about rockism the other day.

jaymc (jaymc), Friday, 12 November 2004 21:51 (twenty-one years ago)

You're kidding.

Nowell (Nowell), Friday, 12 November 2004 21:51 (twenty-one years ago)

That was just Momus.

Sean Carruthers (SeanC), Friday, 12 November 2004 22:29 (twenty-one years ago)

Would someone get Nowell a sense of humor and fast?

planescapin' 'til dawn (Homosexual II), Friday, 12 November 2004 22:42 (twenty-one years ago)

WAH!

fake Nowell (Nick A.), Friday, 12 November 2004 22:43 (twenty-one years ago)

I've got a sense of humor! What makes you think I don't?

Nowell (Nowell), Friday, 12 November 2004 23:02 (twenty-one years ago)

Heh, nice, Sean. I'd ask you to add a cock, but I'm afraid.

jaymc (jaymc), Friday, 12 November 2004 23:12 (twenty-one years ago)

What's that mean?

Nowell (Nowell), Friday, 12 November 2004 23:13 (twenty-one years ago)

someone who calls herself VermontGirl posts to I Love Books

kyle (akmonday), Friday, 12 November 2004 23:15 (twenty-one years ago)

I'll have to get in touch with Jim. We can hunt deer, milk cows, eat maple syrup on Ben & Jerry's ice cream, get a civil union, watch the foliage & be socialists together.

Yeah, lets.

Jay, I can usually be found beneath a red '89 Volvo in North Troy trying to add a few more years of life to a real Vermont car.

I do get out weekly to St. Albans, Burlington, Middlebury, Montpelier and places in between. Perhaps we can hook up.

jim wentworth (wench), Saturday, 13 November 2004 02:40 (twenty-one years ago)

I was born in Vermont, which I mention occasionally if I want to sound cool, but I've only been back there once in my adult life (entered the house and ROOM in which I was born, thanks to the nice woman who was living there now).

morris pavilion (samjeff), Saturday, 13 November 2004 07:12 (twenty-one years ago)

I live in Vermont, Melbourne, Australia. About three kilometres away, in Vermont South, is where Neighbours is shot.

Fred Nerk (Fred Nerk), Saturday, 13 November 2004 11:12 (twenty-one years ago)

Fred, I'm coming to stay at your house.

Matt (Matt), Saturday, 13 November 2004 14:18 (twenty-one years ago)

Montpelier, that struck me as a strange small city the one time I went through. Isn't it in a valley?

Ned Raggett (Ned), Saturday, 13 November 2004 15:39 (twenty-one years ago)

Ned, practically all towns in VT are in valleys. I hope that clears things up for ya. But you're right: Montpelier is located in the Winooski River Valley.

Actually, Montpelier, for its size (maybe 10,000) is fairly diverse and it's the government seat for the most liberal state in the US. Fairly typical small New England city otherwise. Some great little restaurants, cinemas, record shops and guitar shops too. Also no shortage of hippies. But they're everywhere in this state.

Fred: When I first read your post, I thought Vermont South was where you took your neighbors and literally shot them. I dunno, it seemed to me like it might be some revered local custom.

Morris & Matt: Stop by anytime.

jim wentworth (wench), Sunday, 14 November 2004 03:04 (twenty-one years ago)

i'm not from vermont, but ...

... when i was a kid and a teenager, i spent goodly portions of my summers there b/c my parents own a vacation cottage in NE Vermont (the "northeast kingdom," is what i believe they used to call it). not too far from mr. wentworth, i believe (parker pond is where it was -- lovely area!) if there were any jobs i'd SO be there.

Eisbär (llamasfur), Sunday, 14 November 2004 03:10 (twenty-one years ago)

Yeah, well, nothing has really changed on the job front Eisbar. Come to think of it, I've seen every cottage around that pond. Probably been in a dozen of them too. I'll keep my eyes open for an old Phillies cap.

jim wentworth (wench), Sunday, 14 November 2004 03:30 (twenty-one years ago)
