Compound W - I have a question

Years ago I removed a wart on my hand with Compound W.

I think it's a mild acid that eats away at the wart. So why couldn't you use it for a mole? Or even to remove somebody that bothers you?

This is the wart and wart removal thread, though boils, abcesses and moles are fair game as well.

But no acne posts, that's for another thread.

I used compound W on a wart on my finger a few years back.

It didn't work (I also didn't really apply it regularly as directed) so instead I cut it out with a plastic knife.

Gross! Can't we talk about something tasteful, like ass-wiping?

Don't ever do anything to moles. See a doc if you want to get rid of a mole, apparently.

I used it on a giant wart I had on my hand when I was a kid. It didn't really work either. I would end up chewing on the wart (the acid tasted sweet). A doctor tried freezing it off. Didn't work. Finally ended up burning it off with an electric needle.
The smell of your own flesh burning is no sensation to repeat, believe me.

My wart removal was a success! A fortnight of daily applications and it melted away!

I thought this was going to be about Bush's ranch.

I'm currently using this stuff on a wart on my foot. I thought it was just a small one, but after about a week the remover ate through the top layer of my skin to expose the GIANT fucking wart underneath (it wasn't really that big, but it did freak me out). It was a really Cronenbergish thing. Also, I had no idea how thick the skin on the bottom of one's foot is. I swear I must have gone through a half inch already! I would have expected to hit bone or something by now. But I still haven't gotten to the bottom of the wart.

Do warts spread by contact or what? I'm trying not to touch it, but every time my hand or other foot grazes it I obsessively wash them off, just in case.

Also, Compound W stinks like a motherfucker.

I can't believe you chewed on yours LSTD. GAAH.

is it on the bottom of your foot, near the ball?

I had a short job years ago at a place called Ceres Labs that made an INSTANT wart remover... a doctor put it on and the wart was gone INSTANTLY! It was made out of beetles; I think they were rare because my boss always denied this even when I confronted him with a brown glass jar of dead beetles. There was an explosion at the lab once, and I got nosebleeds the whole time I worked there.

andy, Saturday, 13 November 2004 00:02 (twenty-one years ago)

But no, I did not become a giant beetle wartman after the explosion. Just nosebleeds.

andy, Saturday, 13 November 2004 00:03 (twenty-one years ago)

Oh, and it was Seres Labs in case the googler's take a look around...

andy, Saturday, 13 November 2004 00:09 (twenty-one years ago)

Luna, yes, yes it is.

Dan I. (Dan I.), Saturday, 13 November 2004 00:11 (twenty-one years ago)

It's probably a plantar wart then, and I'm not sure regular compound W will work for that.

luna (luna.c), Saturday, 13 November 2004 00:35 (twenty-one years ago)

Yes, I'm almost certain you're right about it being a plantar, and it is quite deep, but it seems like it's working so far (ie: it's eaten through a hell of a lot of wart already) so I'm going to keep trying. I hope I don't end up chasing this thing straight through to the other side.

I hope all this isn't grossing anyone out too much. I hate warts as much as anyone; maybe that's why I feel like inflicting the description of it on other people.

One of the few things that I remember about being very young was that I had hand-warts, and I liked them. I used to chat to them about my day. Was probably disappointed when they disappeared, and have never had any since.

Shit. Am I really that boring even my warts hate me?
