i think i'm against this thread, too. not because i think it will hurt excluded people's feelings but more bc once everyone makes lists (inevitably all containing the same dozen or two posters) it seems boring. kind of like how everyone is exasparated by eoy lists, it suggests a collectively limited experience of ilx. i imagine we all skip or skim posts by posters we are weary of, and there's nothing wrong with that, but it's depressing to imagine that we're all skipping to the same posts. i like reading ilxors celebrating each other but i guess i prefer it when it's personal & accompanied by, like, reasons.

see, this is the problem with lists! and the internet, apparently, cuz people can call up what you wrote five months ago. and alfred was plenty witty! i loved meeting him and everyone. there is well-documented love for that trip all over ilx by me. i've met a ton of ilxors in real life since then too. and i have enjoyed talking to all of them. having a used record store, i get to meet the lurkers too.
