Thanks

Now I just have to figure out why my grandmother has a Satanic tattoo...

Stan Fields (Stan Fields), Monday, 15 November 2004 18:59 (twenty-one years ago)

Maybe she thought it was the Church of Stan.

Symbols.com is great

Stan Fields (Stan Fields), Monday, 15 November 2004 19:03 (twenty-one years ago)

oh yeah, the alchemy version is more accurately your grandma's tattoo. The COS version clearly has one smaller cross.

I'm not sure if grandma's tattoo has one smaller cross or not. I'll have to accidently pay her a visit during her next spongebath to confirm things.

Stan Fields (Stan Fields), Monday, 15 November 2004 19:07 (twenty-one years ago)

It appears the smaller cross version is synonymous, according to Symbols.com. So, I guess Anton LaVey just stole an old alchemical symbol for black sulphur and used it for CoS. I guess the devil really is black and sulphurous. either way, you've got one unusual grandma.

She may have been confused and thought she was getting a Nabisco tattoo.

Stan Fields (Stan Fields), Monday, 15 November 2004 19:16 (twenty-one years ago)

Nabisco is good, but good enough to warrant a tattoo?

In certain sects, the Iron Oreo is applied to the buttocks in a satanic branding ritual.
