i am so sick of the turkey pardoning presidential photo op! just once i would like the president, whoever he or she may be at the time, to reneg on the pardon and bit off the turkey's head. now that would be newsworthy!

Gov. George Bush contemplates a pardon for Karla Faye Tucker, decides "nah":

In the weeks before the execution, Bush says, Bianca Jagger and a number of other protesters came to Austin to demand clemency for Tucker. 'Did you meet with any of them?' I ask.

Bush whips around and stares at me. 'No, I didn't meet with any of them,' he snaps, as though I've just asked the dumbest, most offensive question ever posed. 'I didn't meet with Larry King either when he came down for it. I watched his interview with [Tucker], though. He asked her real difficult questions, like 'What would you say to Governor Bush?' 'What was her answer?' I wonder.

'Please,' Bush whimpers, his lips pursed in mock desperation, 'don't kill me.'

By the way, that was by Tucker Carlson from Talk magazine in 1999. And K.F. Tucker did not respond to Larry King by asking for clemency.

back when i lived in texas i've got this aunt veda who she took me to see bush speak when he was governor, and afterward I remember i shook his hand cause he was shaking hands along the line, and let me tell you he does that lip-thing like he's giving a blowjob to a tiny invisible man and you can just see the wrong baking off of him, you're like DAMN that man is a prick. its in the air. i didn't think he smelled so good either, but it was really hot and he was wearing a tie so maybe that wasn't his fault? anyway don't blame my aunt for voting for him this time, she died.
