999 looks a little drab, 1004 wasn't so spectacular unless you count Norwich being destroyed.

957 was an incredible time for pop music, with Wilf The Idiot of Flax Bourton fashioning a primitive lute, his guerilla gigs in local enchanted glades causing scores of chastity-intact maidens to suddenly come over all funny.

Hey, Something happened in 957! History revisionism at work...

1007 was a great year for sunsets, walking on the beach and dreaming in front of the fire.

Aimless (Aimless), Friday, 19 November 2004 19:13 (twenty-one years ago)

Preferably with the Vikings burning in it.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Friday, 19 November 2004 19:30 (twenty-one years ago)

Oh 1007 was interesting all right. So interesting, that they've had to cover it all up.

Hey, Something happened in 957!

The George Harrison song? Naw, dude, that didn't drop until 1969. Good tune, though.

Kenan (kenan), Friday, 19 November 2004 20:52 (twenty-one years ago)

Maybe it's a historical cleansing of the palate.

Maxwell von Bismarck (maxwell von bismarck), Thursday, 25 November 2004 17:54 (twenty-one years ago)

905's entry just says "Alternate meaning: Area code 905"

Sometime in the last couple years, Wikipedia became my favorite thing on the internet -- it's amazing how you can look something up almost at random (when I'm bored or waiting for an email or whatever, I'll type in some term related to something recent -- "Thanksgiving" or "pilgrims," let's say) and just follow related entries around for the rest of the day. I'd totally forgotten about the year-by-year bit, though.
