iPhoto Hell

So I've got my pictures and got my choons and want to make a slideshow. So I select the slideshow option, and when I go to music, it only gives me the defaults (Jesu, desiring or somesuch). When I go to change it, it says there's no iTunes Library. I then delete the iTunes library.xml file and try again. No dice.

How do I get the actual iTunes Library showing up? For info, it works in iMovie (ie, I can see all the tunes). It appears to be similar to this problem.
Help!

Go to Preferences in iPhoto. At the bottom, you'll see the music option with "None" and "Jesu". Select "Other". This will bring up a directory of your hard disk. Go into your iTunes folder ("User" --> "Music" ---> "iTunes") and go from there.

Not in iPhoto 4 you can't - no music tab on prefs...

That's progress, I guess.

I heard it's a mad idea to delete the xml file. It seems like if you choose your itunes music folders in Preferences-->Advanced that it might solve your problem. May iTunes isn't pointing to the correct folder.

You deleted your iTunes Library database? Did you save a back-up first? Hope you weren't using the ratings features or anything like that...

If you are in the organise pane in iPhoto, then click on the Slideshow icon, it should bring up a dialogue for the slideshow settings. From there click on the music tab and you should be able to choose where you get your music from. At least that's how I did it in iPhoto 4.

And it's what I wanted to do - then it only showed me the 2 two standard songs; I tried to select my own tunes but it would let me -the 'No iTunes library found'came up :-(

I can't even use iPhoto right now. My RAM don't like it - the computer gives me a message forcing me to shutdown. AppleCare says I should raze the OS to the ground and start fresh, but I have no backup storage space for my substantially sized files, nor do I have my install discs for some of my programs at all close at hand right now. Nor would I want to do that exercise if those problems were gone; I'll just have to deal with no iPhoto until they update it or when Tiger comes out (hopefully).

Yeah, I know, but I don't use iPhoto enough for me to care.
