Based on this thread ( 3 things about which you know an awful lot / 3 gaps in your general knowledge ), I thought I'd broaden the scope a bit. What makes this different from the earlier thread is action as opposed to expertise.

1. Photography
2. Illustration
3. Remember

1. Juggle
2. Skateboard
3. Drive stick.

Big Baby Bingo (Chris V), Friday, 19 November 2004 15:48 (twenty-one years ago)

This is actually sorta weird because I really don't know what I would put down in the former category!

As for the latter:

1. Drive anything
2. Swim
3. Ride a bike (the ground and I kept meeting each other with great force)

Ned Raggett (Ned), Friday, 19 November 2004 15:49 (twenty-one years ago)

Big Baby Bingo (Chris V), Friday, 19 November 2004 16:00 (twenty-one years ago)

I'm left-handed. I learned to do all sporty stuff right-handed. Therefore, I can't.

Jordan (Jordan), Friday, 19 November 2004 16:01 (twenty-one years ago)

Oh, air hockey, air hockey and skeeball, those are my #4. And those cranes you get the toys from. Actually, forget about cooking, let me put skeeball down.

don't blame me, i voted for ram jam (Jody Beth Rosen), Friday, 19 November 2004 16:04 (twenty-one years ago)

WTF? I have no problem doing these things....could I be ambidextrous?

Big Baby Bingo (Chris V), Friday, 19 November 2004 16:04 (twenty-one years ago)

Yeah, it sucks. I have to think so hard about what my right hand is doing motion-wise to accomplish anything (bowling, drumming, etc.), whereas my left could just do it. Its power is being wasted.

Jordan (Jordan), Friday, 19 November 2004 16:06 (twenty-one years ago)

Could be!

Jordan (Jordan), Friday, 19 November 2004 16:06 (twenty-one years ago)

I remember going to a party in 1992, and as it turned out, I was the first male to show up. Suddenly, the girls in attendance decided it would be a grand idea to "quiz me" about how the male mind works (yeah, as if I'm in any way indicative of the average male). In any event, what started out as stupid fun quickly became something akin to the Spanish Inquisition (somehow it became exclusively my fault that guys were cheating, disreputable low-lifes, etc.) In a vain attempt to turn the tables, I asked the main taskmaster what her three vital stipulations were for a man to warrant her interest/attention. "Well, he's gotta have a nice smile" (yawn), "he's gotta have a decent job" (boring, but somewhat understandable),...."and he's really gotta know how to throw a football".

This prompted the proverbial spit-take from me, almost soaking her in cheap Budweiser in the process.

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Friday, 19 November 2004 16:06 (twenty-one years ago)

although i couldn't hit a ball lefty or throw lefty for the life of me.

Big Baby Bingo (Chris V), Friday, 19 November 2004 16:08 (twenty-one years ago)

"and he's really gotta know how to throw a football"

what's THAT code for? ;-)

dave225 (Dave225), Friday, 19 November 2004 16:12 (twenty-one years ago)

I consider myself proficient at:

- Writing (though I usually don't put much thought into my posts)
- Hackey sack (though my friends are all too embarrassed to be seen doing this with me)
- Speaking/translating Dutch

I'm most definitely deficient at:
- Remembering film titles and actors' names
- Hand-eye coordination games like darts and pool
- Painting neatly

Maria D. (Maria D.), Friday, 19 November 2004 16:39 (twenty-one years ago)

I wish I still played hackey sack like I used to. Sometimes I forget exactly how much fun it can be.

nickalicious (nickalicious), Friday, 19 November 2004 16:43 (twenty-one years ago)

hippy

Big Baby Bingo (Chris V), Friday, 19 November 2004 16:44 (twenty-one years ago)

When I worked at a translation agency in the Netherlands, we would spend about 45 minutes every day playing hackey sack (during our morning, lunch and afternoon breaks). There was no hippy stigma there. When I got back to the states, I found out that it's definitely not popular-making among the clean set.
