i made my own pizza sauce for a small pizza with three large garlic cloves. so excited to eat it--because i love garlic--but then my eyes started to water with the extreme amounts of garlic. so, i'm unsure as to wether i should continue eating it!?

any other garlic stories?

According to legend, my father once made a tomato sauce with some garlic. But he was confused with the recipe, and thought a "clove" of garlic was, you know, a head.

My dad took Emeril literally once. He put about 30 cloves of garlic into a meal's worth of tomato sauce. I sure hope it didn't cause the aneurysm.

haha! good stuff.
i'm pretty sure Emeril puts garlic in just about everything..

Last night when I was drunk I made macaroni and covered it in soba noodle sauce and parmesan cheese because those were the last two condiments in my apartment. It seemed OK at the time but in reality it was the foulest thing I have ever made.

I assumed that this would involve placenta somehow.

tonight i had a trader joe's pizza and i went a little overboard with the crushed red pepper. i had to keep getting up to refill my glass with water and iced green tea.

A few years ago, I went for a meal with friends on Christmas Eve, and accidentally - well, I was quite drunk - ate quite a few roast garlic cloves. The next morning, my mother brought me a cup of tea in bed, and burst into a coughing fit at the smell as soon as she opened my bedroom door.

roast garlic? these are usually so mild I pop 'em by the handful onto salad.

Yeah, roasting garlic kills the enzyme that makes 'em stinky. So it must have been something else. ;-)

I've gotten into raw garlic eating contests (well, really more like group dares) at parties a few times). Frankly, other than pure, raw garlic, I've never eaten anything that seemed to have "too much" garlic in it.

Hurting OTM (although I've never engaged in garlic eating contests).

I put a few whole cloves in with the roast vegetables last night. Sooo tasty, and yeah - not stinky after being roasted.

roast garlic is lovely. a mild, soft flavour.

But he was confused with the recipe, and thought a "clove" of garlic was, you know, a head.

This happened to my best friend's parents on their first date. Her (then future) mom cooked a spaghetti dinner using three whole heads of garlic in the sauce--her (future) dad said that as soon as he opened the door to the apartment building he could smell the garlic, even before walking up the four flights of stairs. The food was inedible, but it all worked out well in the end.

We ordered a garlic pizza from a place in Chicago (I can't remember the name - it was in Rogers Park) .. thinking that a garlic pizza would be a regular pizza with minced garlic on it.. The garlic was sliced and it was covering every inch of the pizza. Nutin' but solid garlic slices, some sauce and a bit o cheese on top. After 1 slice, we were picking the garlic off.

Then we went to a movie & stunk up the place.

i made a stir fry for phil-two on saturday night that contained mass amounts of garlic and green finger chilis. we both started coughing and crying during the sauteeing process, and phil had to leave the kitchen and open a window.
