I've met this guy, who's me but a boy. It's weird, we're both similar in looks, have the exact same taste in entertainment (i.e. chorusing in unison 'Colin Mochrie, he's a genius!') and have the same vague embarrasing taste in music. I'm not unnatracted to him, but I'm not really interested in him either and was actively checking out other guys while he's around.
But, ILE, I'm scared.

Yup, and I'm hanging onto her for dear life. It's not just me who thinks this - when a coincidental mutual friend found out we'd met and were together, he said, "well I'm not surprised - they are basically the male and female equivalent of each other!" I take this as a massive compliment.

To answer the question, yes I have, and we're best friends now. Our music tastes do differ quite a lot though, but we both have the same fanatic attitude towards music, so we have lots of fun discussing it anyway.

The closest thing I met to a female me was last summer. She liked football and cool music and sitting in dark smokey pubs and going out dancing like twats and we had a creepily similar sense of humour. I didn't fancy her.

I reckon if I really did meet the female Matt DC we would either be together for years or it would be the most disastrous thing imaginable.

I have met the male me, or as close to a male me I can imagine. We do look sort of similar as well, but not extremely alike. He is one of my very best friends and yes, I find some of his traits extremely obnoxious, we have been known to fight a lot about things, usually we fight viciously over the very few minor differences there are between between us.

There's a very funny Seinfeld episode where Jerry meets the female version of him and starts dating her.

I have met people who were scarily like me in one or two aspects, but nobody who's been me all over. If I did I'd be... well, scared I suppose.

Matt and I are a lot the same I guess, in terms of values and sense of humour and the important stuff like that, but I have the feeling it's happened since we've been together rather than being pre-existing.

One of the first people I met in Stalybridge was someone called Dawn. I used to run acoustic nights in Ormskirk and I met her as she ran one up here. Then I found out that just like I spell my first name "Porl", she spells hers "Dorne". Then I find out that her last name is H-endry, and mine is H-enty. Wierd.

There was one, maybe, once. She was interested, I was less so (even though I liked her greatly as a friend), but decided to date anyway because it "made sense" (we have so many things in common! etc.) I have since learned that this is a terrible reason to date someone.

Yes, but the timing was always off for getting together. We discussed this once, briefly, and accepted it because we didn't want to hurt the other people we were dating. We remain good friends, but my heart still twinges a bit when I think about it, but I know we would have ended up killing each other.

I've met people who've thought I was their female counterpart, it was kind of suffocating.

I don't see how it's really possible - I've seen some situations where people tell themselves that so-and-so is the opposite sex version of themselves, but I think it's just wanting to make someone over in your image.
