So, what shall we do?

He loves his pies (Mark C), Monday, 22 November 2004 15:40 (twenty-one years ago)

Get our breath back?

Marcello Carlin, Monday, 22 November 2004 15:44 (twenty-one years ago)

aw, it looks all sad and empty...

unfortunately ClubFT is almost definitely having december off, there will be the annual baran 'tween xmas and new year pub crawl though, weds 29th.

CarsmileSteve (CarsmileSteve), Monday, 22 November 2004 15:45 (twenty-one years ago)

Point taken.

Ol' prune face (Mark C), Monday, 22 November 2004 15:45 (twenty-one years ago)

Could we have the annual pre-Christmas FAP, on whatever day the most people will be demob-happy?

Matt DC (Matt DC), Monday, 22 November 2004 15:49 (twenty-one years ago)

I was thinking of having a birthday FAP on the 15th - but I think I need to see if any pub rooms are likely to be available then. I was thinking upstairs in the Horse and Groom on Gt Portland St.

Jerry the Nipper (Jerrynipper), Monday, 22 November 2004 15:54 (twenty-one years ago)

The last ILX Christmas FAP was the last time I got utterly paralytic. Happy days :-/

RickyT (RickyT), Monday, 22 November 2004 15:57 (twenty-one years ago)

The last ILX Christmas FAP was also at the the Horse & Groom if memory serves me correctly.

15th is okay by me. If not then Friday 17th or Saturday the 18th would be my preference.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Monday, 22 November 2004 15:59 (twenty-one years ago)

i was just thinking about this...the 16/17/18 is out for me, but i'm free the 15th and would like to see people in the festive season.

thinking about thanksgiving food makes me think it's almost christmas. woo!

colette (a2lette), Monday, 22 November 2004 16:02 (twenty-one years ago)

I think it's u+k to at least try to book a separate room for this as the pubs are going to be ridiculous. We could see when the GHS have downstairs free, if at all.

Ol' prune face (Mark C), Monday, 22 November 2004 16:03 (twenty-one years ago)

i'd like dancing, i think

Freelance Hiveminder (blueski), Monday, 22 November 2004 16:06 (twenty-one years ago)

Hmm, I wouldn't, I think.

Ol' prune face (Mark C), Monday, 22 November 2004 16:20 (twenty-one years ago)

Clubbing after pubbing?

Ol' prune face (Mark C), Monday, 22 November 2004 16:20 (twenty-one years ago)

I believe there were other plans in the pipeline as well, and am attempting to contact 12ft Lizard HQ in order to find out. I have no problem with any of the dates mentioned right now but obviously not having work in the morning would be a bonus.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Monday, 22 November 2004 16:24 (twenty-one years ago)

i'm really glad i decided to come back from france on dec 28th, figuring that the baran pub crawl would probably be on the 29tm.

15th/16th/17th are fine for me.

toby (tsg20), Monday, 22 November 2004 16:26 (twenty-one years ago)

I'll come if it's that week

beanz (beanz), Monday, 22 November 2004 16:53 (twenty-one years ago)

I would like to be the first person to wish Jerry the Nipper a very happy birthday.

PJ Miller (PJ Miller), Monday, 22 November 2004 16:56 (twenty-one years ago)

you may have been beaten, by many years (but not that many)

Freelance Hiveminder (blueski), Monday, 22 November 2004 17:05 (twenty-one years ago)

23/12 for demob pub?

Ed (dali), Monday, 22 November 2004 17:16 (twenty-one years ago)

That could be arranged. Maybe not as the main event though.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Monday, 22 November 2004 17:20 (twenty-one years ago)

i want mulled wine.

lauren (laurenp), Monday, 22 November 2004 17:23 (twenty-one years ago)

right now.

lauren (laurenp), Monday, 22 November 2004 17:24 (twenty-one years ago)

Not friday 17th, please, have prior commintment or sunday 12th.

Ed (dali), Monday, 22 November 2004 17:26 (twenty-one years ago)

I was walking down the road, and I could hear the mentalists singing "Do They Know It's Christmas?" (the proper version), and I saw a very drunk guy who looked like he was in Kings of Leon, he had the same silly fringe.

Anyway that was last years X-Mas FAP.

This year, 17th would be best for me.

jel -- (jel), Monday, 22 November 2004 17:28 (twenty-one years ago)

15th is a no-go.

jel -- (jel), Monday, 22 November 2004 17:29 (twenty-one years ago)

i won't be back in the UK until the 20th Dec.. but if you guys fancy joining a knoxville, tennessee FAP..................................

ken c (ken c), Monday, 22 November 2004 17:34 (twenty-one years ago)

Will be in Manchester 17/18/19 Dec.

Anna (Anna), Monday, 22 November 2004 17:43 (twenty-one years ago)

Also not 17th

Ed (dali), Monday, 22 November 2004 17:44 (twenty-one years ago)

Details on pub crawl come soon. I need a shape locale and theme first. Last year I thought of one in ten minutes so it should not be a problem this year.

Pete (Pete), Monday, 22 November 2004 17:52 (twenty-one years ago)

maybe central london and sam smiths theme?

helpful as ever (ken c), Monday, 22 November 2004 17:53 (twenty-one years ago)

Southwest London theme! At least then all the pubs will be novel to you SW-hating fuckers.

Ol' prune face (Mark C), Monday, 22 November 2004 17:56 (twenty-one years ago)

We could start our bacchanal up the Arab Boy*?

My local, "probbaly the oldest pub in Putney" apparently.

Ol' prune face (Mark C), Monday, 22 November 2004 17:57 (twenty-one years ago)

i go to france on the 22nd, so before then if at all possible.

toby (tsg20), Monday, 22 November 2004 17:58 (twenty-one years ago)

has the world gone mad? Barry saying there aren't enough FAPs? I think we can never have too many, so let's have them on all the proposed dates, and more! I think the only date I have tied up for anything important is the 4th.

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Monday, 22 November 2004 19:20 (twenty-one years ago)

This year, 17th would be best for me.

Yes, please.

Andrew Farrell (afarrell), Monday, 22 November 2004 20:59 (twenty-one years ago)

15th would give us a good excuse to leave Vic's xmas do early. we're on a booze run to Calais on the 18th though. 23rd is a goer though seeing as I don't have to be sharp on the 24th

Porkpie (porkpie), Monday, 22 November 2004 22:15 (twenty-one years ago)

I think we should go for the 15th (StevieT birthday FAP) and the 23rd (lower key demob FAP although not everyone will be in London then).

I am perfectly happy with the 17th as well though.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Monday, 22 November 2004 23:16 (twenty-one years ago)

if it's the 15th I might even try to make it down. and squeeze in some xmas shopping too!

jellybean (jellybean), Monday, 22 November 2004 23:30 (twenty-one years ago)

mdc making sense as usual.

toby (tsg20), Monday, 22 November 2004 23:35 (twenty-one years ago)

I'm unsure what exactly my running order is these days, but 23rd is thoroughly doable for me.

William Bloody Swygart (mrswygart), Monday, 22 November 2004 23:39 (twenty-one years ago)

Ditto, I suppose, won't be back in London til the 21st.

B.A.R.M.S. (Barima), Tuesday, 23 November 2004 09:28 (twenty-one years ago)

I want to celerybrate Jerry the Nipper's birthday.

PJ Miller (PJ Miller), Tuesday, 23 November 2004 09:30 (twenty-one years ago)

I'M IN MANCHESTER ON THE 17TH!

Anna (Anna), Tuesday, 23 November 2004 12:28 (twenty-one years ago)

WE HAVE AGREED THE 15TH!

(I think. Stevie, please say something)

Matt DC (Matt DC), Tuesday, 23 November 2004 12:29 (twenty-one years ago)

i think people should try and go bowling on the last saturday of the year. since it's international sini... oh wait wrong board!

ken c (ken c), Tuesday, 23 November 2004 12:32 (twenty-one years ago)

i'll bowl you over

Freelance Hiveminder (blueski), Tuesday, 23 November 2004 12:36 (twenty-one years ago)

are you going to be the bowl selector?

ken c (ken c), Tuesday, 23 November 2004 12:41 (twenty-one years ago)

I have been Phoning Ahead, and the 15th looks elusive in the four or five places I have contacted so far.

The best bet so far = booking the room at the Duke of York, Cavendish St, and they have the 14th or the 17th available.

Jerry the Nipper (Jerrynipper), Tuesday, 23 November 2004 12:42 (twenty-one years ago)

14th good

Ed (dali), Tuesday, 23 November 2004 12:51 (twenty-one years ago)

Alternatively, it looks like the 15th is available at the Calthorpe Arms.

Jerry the Nipper (Jerrynipper), Tuesday, 23 November 2004 12:53 (twenty-one years ago)

Aha, I have just booked upstairs at The Calthorpe from 6 on the 15th. Goodbye fannydangle!

Jerry the Nipper (Jerrynipper), Tuesday, 23 November 2004 13:03 (twenty-one years ago)

the Calthorpe has an upstairs? blimey

Freelance Hiveminder (blueski), Tuesday, 23 November 2004 13:27 (twenty-one years ago)

yes, it's where they have the folk nights...... ulp

Porkpie (porkpie), Tuesday, 23 November 2004 13:28 (twenty-one years ago)

Could a kindly mod incorporate the details in the thread title/calendar please?

Jerry the Nipper (Jerrynipper), Tuesday, 23 November 2004 13:29 (twenty-one years ago)

dun

Freelance Hiveminder (blueski), Tuesday, 23 November 2004 13:31 (twenty-one years ago)

I refuse to regard Jerry the Nipper's birthday do as a Christmas do. It's Jerry the Nipper, not Jesus the Nipper. Nevertheless, I am excited. Will there be jelly?

PJ Miller (PJ Miller), Tuesday, 23 November 2004 13:50 (twenty-one years ago)

jelly the nipper

Freelance Hiveminder (blueski), Tuesday, 23 November 2004 13:53 (twenty-one years ago)

Yay Calthorpe. I have thingummied the thread title as well...

Matt DC (Matt DC), Tuesday, 23 November 2004 14:02 (twenty-one years ago)

PJ Miller (PJ Miller), Tuesday, 23 November 2004 14:03 (twenty-one years ago)

Matt DC (Matt DC), Tuesday, 23 November 2004 14:07 (twenty-one years ago)

I will be over the Atlantic in a plane while this is going on. Perhaps I will have a drink then.

sgs (sgs), Tuesday, 23 November 2004 14:08 (twenty-one years ago)

I'll rumble on after works do.

Ed (dali), Tuesday, 23 November 2004 14:09 (twenty-one years ago)

Fancy A Pint just has the same picture for every pub, doesn't it?

PJ Miller (PJ Miller), Tuesday, 23 November 2004 14:20 (twenty-one years ago)

Fancy A Pint is a HOUSE OF LIES

Freelance Hiveminder (blueski), Tuesday, 23 November 2004 14:20 (twenty-one years ago)

how can a question be a lie?

ken c (ken c), Tuesday, 23 November 2004 14:25 (twenty-one years ago)

Freelance Hiveminder (blueski), Tuesday, 23 November 2004 14:29 (twenty-one years ago)

This is exciting!

Gravel Puzzleworth (Gregory Henry), Tuesday, 23 November 2004 15:51 (twenty-one years ago)

Shall there be PRESENTS?

Gravel Puzzleworth (Gregory Henry), Tuesday, 23 November 2004 15:51 (twenty-one years ago)

if you want to give, yes!

ken c (ken c), Tuesday, 23 November 2004 15:52 (twenty-one years ago)

buttered rum please

Porkpie (porkpie), Tuesday, 23 November 2004 17:03 (twenty-one years ago)

So what is happening with this official Xmas FAP, anyway?

Is there going to be an ILX activity between the 22nd December and the 3rd January? Because my mum and my brother are going to be in town and it would be fun (heh, famous last words) to have a FAP for them.

The Grain of Sand in Lambeth That Satan Cannot Find (kate), Monday, 29 November 2004 13:50 (twenty-one years ago)

There will be Pete's traditional post-Xmas pub crawl - 29th, is it?

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Monday, 29 November 2004 13:53 (twenty-one years ago)

yes martin, pub crawl 29th.

CarsmileSteve (CarsmileSteve), Monday, 29 November 2004 13:58 (twenty-one years ago)

Why isn't there a link to the FAP calendar on the front page? There really should be. Or is coz it's UK-only and none of the programmers live here?

The Grain of Sand in Lambeth That Satan Cannot Find (kate), Monday, 29 November 2004 14:00 (twenty-one years ago)

I have written this, on my calendar. The one in real life. It says - STEVIE T B/DAY, which is what it is, as far as I'm concerned.
