Just looking over Gear's recently concluded album poll, and I'm impressed.

Would we be up for a similarly-styled poll for films? Cause if so, I'd totally be up to putting it together.

C'mon, we're competing with a poll about words. I'm not worried. I can understand that music polls all the time on ILM might be a bit overkill. (Note, I have no idea if they poll much on ILM, so leave me to my straw man fantasies, thankyouverymuch!)

the IMDB list has Shawshank and Schindler's List at the top. I wouldn't expect either to crack the top 10 at ILE and that's being ridiculously generous. Actually, I wouldn't expect the ILX list to look anything at all like that one, except for Goodfellas being in the top-10. The Usual Suspects, Fight Club, LA Confidential and Seven don't stand a chance to be that high.

(that's assuming that the usual people talking about movies all vote and that lurker tastes are similar)

Gear, I think a '00-> list would be more problematic than it is with music, in that many of us see films on TV as much as at the cinema, so I have seen a far larger proportion of '90s films that are my kind of thing than I have of those from the last couple of years.

the rest is great too! they didnt even try to make the story work. just a couple of buddy-buddy scenes strung togehter that go nowhere. also the boss from johnny tos "the mission" is in it. and chris rock. and that scene with the lauhging gas, jesus.
