After years of planning I am finally doing the overseas thing in Jan/Feb. Look for me in the following places:

London circa 24th Jan until 31st.
Edinburgh 31st until 5th Feb.
Paris and surrounds 6th Feb until I don't know
Berlin I don't know until I don't know
Cologne I don't know until I don't know
Frankfurt I don't know until 24th Feb.

I'm hoping to be able to catch up with some of you euro ilxors if possible...

Tim Finney (Tim Finney), Monday, 29 November 2004 01:23 (twenty-one years ago)

Yayayay! You lucky folks who get to meet the Tim -- he's a wonderful feller to chat with and I already am envious of the pub discussions I'll have to miss. Have a great time there!

Ned Raggett (Ned), Monday, 29 November 2004 01:25 (twenty-one years ago)

london has been expecting you

nick.K (nick.K), Monday, 29 November 2004 01:37 (twenty-one years ago)

ned, you're the only perspn I know who's met tim.f

nick.K (nick.K), Monday, 29 November 2004 01:40 (twenty-one years ago)

Aw well, the good folk of Melbourne know him too! But I suppose I'm the only non-Australian/New Zealander to have met him so far. Happily that will soon change! :-)

Ned Raggett (Ned), Monday, 29 November 2004 02:04 (twenty-one years ago)

I remember how when we first met we started talking about Mya's "Case of the Ex"

Ned Raggett (Ned), Monday, 29 November 2004 02:05 (twenty-one years ago)

If I met Tim Finney I would buy him a drink and we would talk about Luomo and Rex The Dog and Lady Stush.

adam... (nordicskilla), Monday, 29 November 2004 02:07 (twenty-one years ago)

I didn't get to spend as much time with Ned as I would have liked when he was here. He was inconvenient enough to come to Melbourne when I was extremely and foolishly busy with university politics.

Tim Finney (Tim Finney), Monday, 29 November 2004 02:09 (twenty-one years ago)

YOU 'ORRIBLE MAN. (I am very much planning a return visit to Aus/NZ sometime.)

Ned Raggett (Ned), Monday, 29 November 2004 02:24 (twenty-one years ago)

i'll be in london over xmas, tim, it'll be great having you over.

nick.K (nick.K), Monday, 29 November 2004 02:46 (twenty-one years ago)

But he says he won't be there until the end of January?

Ned Raggett (Ned), Monday, 29 November 2004 02:51 (twenty-one years ago)

now you've gone and ruined everything ned

nick.K (nick.K), Monday, 29 November 2004 02:54 (twenty-one years ago)

D'oh. (I can make it up to you by getting on your promo list. Wait, that just becomes something nice for me.)

Ned Raggett (Ned), Monday, 29 November 2004 02:59 (twenty-one years ago)

great news Tim!

Frankenstein On Ice (blueski), Monday, 29 November 2004 03:09 (twenty-one years ago)

fantastic!

i think we should all organise some cologne action to coincide with tim being there.

toby (tsg20), Monday, 29 November 2004 07:43 (twenty-one years ago)

glasgow is 45 mins, from edinburgh.

RJG (RJG), Monday, 29 November 2004 07:48 (twenty-one years ago)

well get on a train to embra and go and see him R ;)

i'm sure london can rustle up some FAP action for you tim. also thursday 30th is almost certainly january club FT (still faffing as it might be tom's work xmas party (yes, really) and we might be djing at it (and getting paid))

CarsmileSteve (CarsmileSteve), Monday, 29 November 2004 08:35 (twenty-one years ago)

OK

: )

RJG (RJG), Monday, 29 November 2004 08:37 (twenty-one years ago)

"i think we should all organise some cologne action to coincide with tim being there."

Yes! I couldn't resist going to Cologne after all of Geeta and Ronan's stories.

Club FT - excellent!

I'm considering checking out Glagow for a day. I also have half a mind to sniff around Aberdeen and soak in some famlay heritage.

Tim Finney (Tim Finney), Monday, 29 November 2004 11:15 (twenty-one years ago)

ha, i want to go to all the places Tim is going

except Aberdeen maybe (but then again...)

Frankenstein On Ice (blueski), Monday, 29 November 2004 11:17 (twenty-one years ago)

Cologne=yes!

RickyT (RickyT), Monday, 29 November 2004 11:24 (twenty-one years ago)

This will be good!

The Lex (The Lex), Monday, 29 November 2004 11:57 (twenty-one years ago)

I'm sure the usual suspects should be able to rummage up some top London dancefloor action over that weekend.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Monday, 29 November 2004 11:58 (twenty-one years ago)

Actually tell me about Aberdeen. Would it be interesting apart from the sense of repaying some sort of karmic debt to my family? Or is it not worth it?

Everyone who has posted on this thread so far has reminded me of how much I've wanted to meet the UK massive.

Tim Finney (Tim Finney), Monday, 29 November 2004 12:05 (twenty-one years ago)

aberdeen has no delicatessens or green grocers.

I haven't been there, though.

RJG (RJG), Monday, 29 November 2004 12:07 (twenty-one years ago)

Aberdeens cool, but you might get more out of an extra day or so in Glasgow and Edinburgh. But if you have ancestry there it might be more interesting for you...

Kevin Gilchrist (Mr Fusion), Monday, 29 November 2004 12:11 (twenty-one years ago)

*Mike D voice* It's about time.

Heck, I'm up for going with Tim on all his stops, making sure he's never far from an ILXor.

B.A.R.M.S. (Barima), Monday, 29 November 2004 12:26 (twenty-one years ago)

A GRAND TOUR!

Tim Finney (Tim Finney), Monday, 29 November 2004 12:44 (twenty-one years ago)

Barima are you going to be back in London by this point?

Matt DC (Matt DC), Monday, 29 November 2004 12:48 (twenty-one years ago)

I'm in aberdeen!

cºzen (Cozen), Monday, 29 November 2004 12:48 (twenty-one years ago)

I'd come see you in edinburgh though.

cºzen (Cozen), Monday, 29 November 2004 12:48 (twenty-one years ago)

aberdeen has no delicatessens or green grocers and its buildings have the potential to sparkle.

cºzen (Cozen), Monday, 29 November 2004 12:48 (twenty-one years ago)

Barima are you going to be back in London by this point?

The Hate Ball says "I'm afraid so".

B.A.R.M.S. (Barima), Monday, 29 November 2004 12:57 (twenty-one years ago)

Why did I always assume Tim was from the UK to begin with?

Dan I., Monday, 29 November 2004 19:46 (twenty-one years ago)

wow Cologne could be a good idea, or alternatively London. let's get the wheels in motion and all that.

Ronan (Ronan), Monday, 29 November 2004 19:53 (twenty-one years ago)

I'm in Edinburgh.

But by then I will have moved to London!

3underscore (___), Monday, 29 November 2004 19:55 (twenty-one years ago)

one month passes...
are you definitely not over til the 24th, tim? vitalic is playing on the 22nd...

toby (tsg20), Saturday, 1 January 2005 18:42 (twenty-one years ago)

tim we might cross paths in berlin!! ooh i am excited! there is a big chance that i will be in berlin starting feb. 10th for the berlinale...

geeta (geeta), Sunday, 2 January 2005 03:49 (twenty-one years ago)

must . . . get . . . passport . . .

Matos W.K. (M Matos), Sunday, 2 January 2005 05:29 (twenty-one years ago)

aparently tiefschwarz will be playing in cologne feb 18th.

:| (....), Sunday, 2 January 2005 15:41 (twenty-one years ago)

Actually Toby I don't arrive in London till the morning of the 25th :-( I would love to see Vitalic live.

I'm likely to be in Berlin from about the 12th until the 19th of Feb Geeta so we should definitely catch up.

I'll probably be in Cologne from the 21st until the morning of the 23rd.

These dates are flexible though as I'm training around Germany until I fly out of Frankfurt on the 24th.

Tim Finney (Tim Finney), Tuesday, 4 January 2005 01:28 (twenty-one years ago)

we'll expect lots of pics (and a U.S. visit soon after)

Paul (scifisoul), Tuesday, 4 January 2005 01:38 (twenty-one years ago)

Or else.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Tuesday, 4 January 2005 01:43 (twenty-one years ago)

it is kind of rich us expecting Tim to come here, when only THE NED has braved the antipodes

Paul (scifisoul), Tuesday, 4 January 2005 01:46 (twenty-one years ago)

See, that's why only I can insist on it. ;-) But as Duane, Di, Tim and Andrew (among others!) have all visited American and/or Europe or are planning on it, it is a fine start!

Ned Raggett (Ned), Tuesday, 4 January 2005 01:48 (twenty-one years ago)

I'm currently accepting cheques from any and all american donors

Tim Finney (Tim Finney), Tuesday, 4 January 2005 07:28 (twenty-one years ago)

I'll probably be in Cologne from the 21st until the morning of the 23rd

too bad. monday and tuesday are the only days of the week that the cologne nightlife is entirely dead.

:| (....), Tuesday, 4 January 2005 07:46 (twenty-one years ago)

it is kind of rich us expecting Tim to come here, when only THE NED has braved the antipodes

hey wait, ive been to australia! spent 3 months in sydney and melbourne

phil-two (phil-two), Tuesday, 4 January 2005 08:01 (twenty-one years ago)

"too bad. monday and tuesday are the only days of the week that the cologne nightlife is entirely dead."

Shit, maybe I'll have to rework this somehow. My desperation will probably hinge on whether I can see Mayer in Melbourne the night before I leave.

Tim Finney (Tim Finney), Tuesday, 4 January 2005 10:43 (twenty-one years ago)

I don't know if I'll have the cash to go to London then : (

let alone wonderful Berlin!

Ronan (Ronan), Tuesday, 4 January 2005 11:45 (twenty-one years ago)

tim, when are you in glasgow / edinburgh?

cozen (Cozen), Sunday, 30 January 2005 21:15 (twenty-one years ago)

i'd like to Tim - where when what how long for?

jed_ (jed), Sunday, 30 January 2005 21:44 (twenty-one years ago)

Cozen I'm here in Edinburgh now until Saturday morning. I haven't worked out when I'm going to Glasgow for the day... since i've cleverly managed to miss out on Optimo entirely I guess it doesn't matter so much (but pipe up anyone who has ideas). Maybe Thursday?

Tim Finney (Tim Finney), Monday, 31 January 2005 15:21 (twenty-one years ago)

felix da housecat is playing aberdeen no friday oh no! I have friday off though and like edinburgh for a visit, jed? posse up.

I would be up for a pint any day in Glasgow but tomorrow.

ailsa (ailsa), Monday, 31 January 2005 17:54 (twenty-one years ago)

(I would be up for tomorrow also, but it would have to be a pub with the Arse v ManU game on)

ailsa (ailsa), Monday, 31 January 2005 18:00 (twenty-one years ago)

yeah cozen/tim - ill come to embra.

jed_ (jed), Monday, 31 January 2005 18:18 (twenty-one years ago)

"aw it was a shame you didnt come last night, jeff samuel missed his flight and instead there was 5 hrs of awesome tunes, starting off with all the trapex sutff but by 1 am it got maximal and electroey, all getp hysical et al, v sweaty, busy and very fun. also, i forgot, roll deep were playing on friday, they turned up and everything, that was free too."

Ambrose this sounds amazing! But actually I've been recovering from a cold ever since Club FT, so i've been getting relatively early nights.

Cozen Felix Da Housecat is very good, it's like "Now That's What I Call A Deal: The Best Bits of Now That's What I Call Electroclash 1-5 and Now That's What I Call Electro-House 1-3". If I didn't have a morning flight I'd go w/ you.

Tim Finney (Tim Finney), Monday, 31 January 2005 19:38 (twenty-one years ago)

I'm likely to be in Berlin from about the 12th until the 19th of Feb Geeta so we should definitely catch up.

amazingly, I am in Berlin for some of that time, so you could meet me too, if you wanted. I think I'll be stuck doing boring work stuff till the friday, however.

DV (dirtyvicar), Monday, 31 January 2005 19:40 (twenty-one years ago)

nah I'm sold. edinburgh on friday then?

cozen (Cozen), Monday, 31 January 2005 23:30 (twenty-one years ago)

Friday it is! If you've a good knowledge of the city you might know a better meeting place than I.

Tim Finney (Tim Finney), Tuesday, 1 February 2005 13:49 (twenty-one years ago)

is any of the rest of glasgow interested in edinburgh?

cozen (Cozen), Tuesday, 1 February 2005 13:50 (twenty-one years ago)

i'll be there!

jed_ (jed), Tuesday, 1 February 2005 14:18 (twenty-one years ago)

Opimo edinburgh on saturday btw. not really the same but pretty good anyway.

jed_ (jed), Tuesday, 1 February 2005 14:24 (twenty-one years ago)

Yo Cozen and Jed, meet up when and where? Shall we do lunch?

Tim Finney (Tim Finney), Thursday, 3 February 2005 15:05 (twenty-one years ago)

stevie nixed (stevie nixed), Thursday, 3 February 2005 15:19 (twenty-one years ago)

I say, and jed can correct me, 12pm outside on the steps of the modern art gallery.

cozen (Cozen), Thursday, 3 February 2005 16:47 (twenty-one years ago)

Done and done.

Tim Finney (Tim Finney), Thursday, 3 February 2005 22:48 (twenty-one years ago)

dude I fucked up! sorry! my fearless use of psychogeography means that what I thought was the moma is actually the national gallery gah. anyway I'm still in edinburgh my mobile number is: zero seven nine eight six four eight nine three five two. hope you get this in time. once again apologies.

cozen (Cozen), Friday, 4 February 2005 12:21 (twenty-one years ago)

Ha ha! I am deeply correct on all such matters.

Tim Finney (Tim Finney), Tuesday, 15 February 2005 11:01 (twenty-one years ago)

Geeta is aceness incarnate, incidentally. But she is very bad for my health!

Tim Finney (Tim Finney), Tuesday, 15 February 2005 11:02 (twenty-one years ago)

mark s, Sunday, 19 August 2007 12:45 (eighteen years ago)

yeah, I'm flying in and out of london but probably won't be there properly until the end, I think circa 19-25 October?

The official reason for this trip is that i'm accompanying my mother on a trip to visit my sister studying in France.

It's all very The Forsyth Saga.

Tim F, Sunday, 19 August 2007 12:49 (eighteen years ago)

mark s, Sunday, 19 August 2007 12:58 (eighteen years ago)

I like to think the entire french wikipedia is like that. Although that would take a lot of time. artistsimpression.google.com to the rescue?

Tim F, Sunday, 19 August 2007 13:01 (eighteen years ago)

Awesome! Obviously a FAP is U&K but Tim if your visit coincides with anyone decent playing do you fancy some Rolling London Dancing action?

Matt DC, Sunday, 19 August 2007 13:23 (eighteen years ago)

Totally. I'll bring my sister along too.

Tim F, Sunday, 19 August 2007 13:25 (eighteen years ago)

Plan the return trip through Hawaii. Or California. Or something.

Ned Raggett, Sunday, 19 August 2007 14:50 (eighteen years ago)

three weeks pass...

I'll be in London from October 3 to October 7 - I understand that Poptimism is on the 6th?

Tim F, Tuesday, 11 September 2007 11:31 (eighteen years ago)

blueski, Tuesday, 11 September 2007 11:32 (eighteen years ago)

Impeccable timing yet again.

Matt DC, Tuesday, 11 September 2007 11:33 (eighteen years ago)

c sharp major, Tuesday, 11 September 2007 14:10 (eighteen years ago)
