URGENT & KEY Cookery tips needed: interesting/edible things to do with chicken jelly

Yesterday my good friend T took great pains to convince me that one very good way forward for me would be to wean myself off being Man at M&S food-wise and actually learn how to cook properly.

We did a yummy Italian lemon chicken, i.e. T did all the complicated stuff and she simultaneously taught me how to do it all step by step.

Now I have some chicken jelly left which I need to use up tonight. I suppose I could simply re-heat (or can I? salmonella?) it in the oven and add some olive oil. We also did a vegetable mash thing with spuds, carrots and parsnips and I've got some of that left over which I could similarly re-heat. But has anyone got any tips about more creative recipes I could make with these residual ingredients - perhaps do a stew, or something like that?

Any advice before teatime tonight would be extremely appreciated!

the thought of your lemon chicken just made my mouth water.

as for your chicken jelly, i'm not too sure, but would it make a nice base for some soup? and could your vege mash could be fried up bubble and squeak style?

I'd be tempted to use it to richen up a risotto, m'self.

I was going to say risotto too. (presuming that jelly = good strong stock) maybe you could make chicken noodle soup, followed by a nice bit of bubble?

if the jelly is what i think it is. i'd have used it as base for some kind of soup too (probably for ramen).

Thanks for the suggestions!

I went for the risotto option in the end and did some bubble and squeak minus the squeak, so to speak, as I didn't have any cabbages. Very nice indeed. Secretly very pleased with myself for realising that I Can Actually Cook :-)

What I would have done is cooked up some noodles, and stir fried it all together in a wok with a few vegetables.
