i have a vague memory of really liking rose and violet creams when i was a kid. i had to pick something up in fortnum & mason this afternoon, so i treated myself to a little box as a reward for my industriousness. guess what? they're gross. i don't know what i saw in them. they taste like old lady, and i'm out just over six quid.

ok, all is not lost. i just tried a piece of the saffron-ginger fudge that i had the girl throw in, and it might be the best thing ever.
