$150 looks like the price now. Mario looks good, XY/XX looks good, not sure on the urbz, crazy japanese multiplayer music game looks good, metroid looks good if i can get used to the controls (i demoed it)

Total classic. Mario is great, Feel the Magic is absolutely insane (the goldfish-vomiting game!), and even Madden is a nice port.

The only downside is that nobody has one, so finding multiplayer partners is hard; once Mario Kart DS comes out six months from now, I am going to do nothing but hang out in the park on summer afternoons and hustle twelve-year-olds. I am the Mario Kart MASTA.

The controls are awkward. I tried playing Metroid, you've got to move with the left pad, aim/turn with the stylus and use the trigger buttons to shoot, so you can't hold the right side to steady it.

Everything that was fluid in Mario 64 using the joystick things is now jumpy and more difficult with original Nintendo-esque controls.

I won a Nintendo DS t-shirt as part of an online contest. It says Touching is good. in rather large felt letters on the front, which means I can never wear it as anything other than an undershirt, but I probably wouldn't feel very comfortable wearing a Nintendo t-shirt in public anyway.

No no, it looks like it would suck ass for left-handers. Even if you switch the controls around, you're forced between choosing the stylus with the right hand (unnatural, since we use a pen with the left hand) or using with the left hand but using the D-PAD with the right hand! I've been training my left for D-pad precision for 17 years, no way I'm switching now.

My DS is keeping me sane during this whole hurricane ordeal. METEOS is one of the best puzzle games I've ever played--it's like Bejeweled Gone Wild. I've heard the new Advance Wars is amazing but I have yet to play it.

yeah, i finally played it tonight. it's fun and ridiculously cute, tho i'm not certain of its long term appeal. except for the fact that i'd want to unlock the pug, the beagle & the (secret) dalmation.

I'm slightly pissed but OTOH I'm also QUITE PISSEED!!! thx u red wines and OTOH I never really played any DS games on my DS, I had so much GBA good stuff to catch up on, and now TETRIS DS has come out so I picked that up for Allyzay to bother herself with while I nap on the plane from DC to SF next week; she won't know that there is a huge super awesome japanese version of the DS out there.
