Very rainy day here in LA/OC but it'll be the backdrop for a nicely cozy New Year's Eve up in LA, I think. Rah for all! Hope your hangovers tomorrow aren't too bad.

I'll be away from my computer for pretty much the whole of the evening and I think I might be too tired to get on the computer once we get back from our familial New Years' festivities, so I want to wish all of you a happy New Year.

(Wow. I can't believe I've experienced a whole calendar year here. In four months' time, I will have been here TWO years. Damn. I initially thought my run would last only a couple of months. Well, I guess that settles it -- you're stuck with me.)

I’m thankful for this board, and my boyfriend, and my dog, and the fact that my legs and fingers work and I’m ok at cooking and cleaning

I have at ton of things to be grateful for, but I will not be sorry to put 2018 behind me. The odds of 2019 being an improvement for my family seem very solid atm. As for the wide world, I can only wish it well, but I have little control over its future. Here's hoping for the best for all ilxors and beyond.

Here's to the year that passed...like a kidney stone!
Bad news: I did not meet any men tonight who showed any interest in me. Good news: I cannot say that I didn't go out and make an effort.
