death pool '05

so around work the past 2 days everyone around me is killing time going on and on about some death pool contest they or someone has worked up. organized sorta like march madness tourney pools apparently. pick 10 famous types who will die in the coming year including a wild card for tie break situations. it's not offensive to me except in its complete stupidity, and it's especially annoying because my nearest coworker spent the entire workday combing the internet for ideas and sharing with me her findings every 5 fuckin minutes. i hate my job very much and this shit isn't helping. is this death pool thing widespread, or is it just something one of my dimwitted coworkers cooked up?
