my family had the tv on the local fox affiliate for whatever new years bullshit special was on. the new years special was on, and then the local news came in with the weather (not an emergency either) and by the time it was done and they returned to the new years show, THE FUCKING BALL HAD ALREADY DROPPED. IT WAS ALREADY 2005. I MEAN CHRIST, DID THEY THINK NO ONE WOULD NOTICE? INCOMPETENT MOTHERFUCKIN' FUCKTARDS!

oh and HAPPY FUCKIN' NEW YEAR ILX!

i managed miraculously to miss out on the counting down from ten.

which made me very happy. I have a fear of countdowns. It puts me in a paralysed state of terror.

I think it would have ben pretty LOL to cut away from the ball drop and show some tsunami victims.
wouldn't THAT put a damper on your asinine celebrations?

I was out on the street talking to two friends and thankfully missed the actual countdown. All of a sudden we heard the sound of fireworks and horns. Worked for me.

"I think it would have ben pretty LOL to cut away from the ball drop and show some tsunami victims." but they didn't even do that! THEY CUT TO THE FUCKING LOCAL WEATHER!

latebloomer (latebloomer), Sunday, 2 January 2005 06:38 (twenty years ago)

We didn't even do a count down. Just looked at the time and said "oh, happy new year everyone."

Andrew (enneff), Sunday, 2 January 2005 07:50 (twenty years ago)

We just sat on the balcony til some drongos in the street started yelling TEN NINE EIGHT... etc then decided that was it, as I couldnt see the clock from out there. There must have been at least 3 diff countdowns in five minutes.
