This art thing isn't paying off.

I didn't go to high school. It looks like tremendous fun though, all those lockers with the pictures inside.

.adam (nordicskilla), Monday, 3 January 2005 20:48 (twenty years ago)

I hear they have computer labs with internet access in them!

Carl Winslow is WHAT!?!? (deangulberry), Monday, 3 January 2005 20:49 (twenty years ago)

We had a computer lab, but this was kind of pre internet ubiquity, so I went there to try and play Prince of Persia.

.adam (nordicskilla), Monday, 3 January 2005 20:54 (twenty years ago)

We had to play Oregon Trail, I guess we were supposed to learn something from it.

n/a (Nick A.), Monday, 3 January 2005 20:54 (twenty years ago)

I wanted to do the Bedrock Twitch in high-school.

Ken L (Ken L), Monday, 3 January 2005 20:55 (twenty years ago)

"We had to play Oregon Trail, I guess we were supposed to learn something from it."
If you ever go hunting, just stand in the middle and turn in a circle really fast and you're bound to hit a squirrel, at least, and maybe a fellow hunter.
Ian S@roy@n and I used to play charades in the back of the computer room in keyboarding.

jocelyn (Jocelyn), Monday, 3 January 2005 21:00 (twenty years ago)

OMG BATTLE CHESS

Carl Winslow is WHAT!?!? (deangulberry), Monday, 3 January 2005 21:15 (twenty years ago)

Our "computer class" in middles school played Oregon Trail every Friday. I was under the impression that it was a reward for doing so much hard work during the other four days of the week.

martin m. (mushrush), Monday, 3 January 2005 21:16 (twenty years ago)

Is someone saying I'm a twit?

Nowell (Nowell), Monday, 3 January 2005 21:30 (twenty years ago)

I was serious about something that kinda upsets me and everyone acts like it's a fucking joke.

But it's ok. Honestly. I mean, snarking or whatever is what this Internet crap is for to most people. But I'm not mean cuz it's just not my style.

Nowell (Nowell), Monday, 3 January 2005 21:33 (twenty years ago)

School is not hard....It's just really fucking boring.

Nowell (Nowell), Monday, 3 January 2005 21:43 (twenty years ago)

If you ever go hunting, just stand in the middle and turn in a circle really fast

Youngsta! The Oregon Trail I grew up on had a first-person view that big blocky animals leapt directly past.

nabisco (nabisco), Monday, 3 January 2005 21:45 (twenty years ago)

What're you talking about?

Nowell (Nowell), Monday, 3 January 2005 21:46 (twenty years ago)

It depends on what school you go to, really. I moved around a lot so I got to go to one school that didn't require you actually show up to class to still get an A+ and another that was so hard I thought it would kill me before I turned 20.

I LOVED oregon trail, mostly the shopping part.

Sarah McLusky (coco), Monday, 3 January 2005 21:47 (twenty years ago)

I haaaaaaaaaaaate school...NEVER EVER will I like it...
What do you like to do?

Nowell (Nowell), Monday, 3 January 2005 21:47 (twenty years ago)

"I LOVED oregon trail, mostly the shopping part."

Every five years or so someone reminds me of this game and I get fond memories of living in Oregon. Then I remember that I hated it there.

Alex in SF (Alex in SF), Monday, 3 January 2005 21:58 (twenty years ago)

Did Oregon Trail have graphics? I thought it was all text-based. I played it on the Apple IIe but I honestly can't remember what it looked like.

walter kranz (walterkranz), Monday, 3 January 2005 22:28 (twenty years ago)

It had graphics. Very rudimentary graphics, but graphics none-the-less.

Alex in SF (Alex in SF), Monday, 3 January 2005 22:29 (twenty years ago)

BORING!

Nowell (Nowell), Monday, 3 January 2005 22:37 (twenty years ago)

REAMING!

Michael White (Hereward), Monday, 3 January 2005 22:38 (twenty years ago)

FUCKING.

Nowell (Nowell), Monday, 3 January 2005 22:39 (twenty years ago)

Why are you so mean to Oregon Trail fans, Nowell?

Alex in SF (Alex in SF), Monday, 3 January 2005 22:42 (twenty years ago)

What's Oregon Trail? Is it like Gold Rush?

.adam (nordicskilla), Monday, 3 January 2005 22:42 (twenty years ago)

Right when they were having such a charming conversation about their adolescence.

Michael White (Hereward), Monday, 3 January 2005 22:43 (twenty years ago)

Oregon Trail is boring.

Nowell (Nowell), Monday, 3 January 2005 22:43 (twenty years ago)

i hope nowell dies of dysentary. then our food will last longer too

phil-two (phil-two), Monday, 3 January 2005 22:44 (twenty years ago)

I think Nowell is awesome

gabbneb (gabbneb), Monday, 3 January 2005 22:44 (twenty years ago)

It's an educational game from the Apple IIE days. You were supposed to get your wagon from Missouri to the Columbia River without dying. Every US kid of a certain age played it in the 80s, I think.

Alex in SF (Alex in SF), Monday, 3 January 2005 22:44 (twenty years ago)

FUCK THE OREGON TRAIL! YOU GUYS SUCK!

Nowell (Alex in SF), Monday, 3 January 2005 22:45 (twenty years ago)

Oregon Trail BORING?! Well hidey fucken ho then, Nowell. I'll remember that you said that when you start waxing about your middle and high school days...

Oh wait... you talk about your high school days ALL THE FUCKING TIME. AND ITS MINDNUMBINGLY FUCKING BORING.

martin m. (mushrush), Monday, 3 January 2005 22:45 (twenty years ago)

I think I may have played it in grade school. I didn't like it.

Nowell (Nowell), Monday, 3 January 2005 22:45 (twenty years ago)

dysentary Please for to splain what is?

Michael White (Hereward), Monday, 3 January 2005 22:46 (twenty years ago)

So...What's up?

Nowell (Nowell), Monday, 3 January 2005 22:47 (twenty years ago)

Are you bored at Ian's house, or what?

Carl Winslow is WHAT!?!? (deangulberry), Monday, 3 January 2005 22:48 (twenty years ago)

So...What's up?

Ha ha ha ha!

Nowell: 1
Martin M: 0

Curses! You win this round, Nowell, but I'll be crotchety again! Mark my words!

martin m. (mushrush), Monday, 3 January 2005 22:48 (twenty years ago)

Why?

Nowell (Nowell), Monday, 3 January 2005 22:49 (twenty years ago)

You remember Oregon Trail from grade school? And some 20 years later you're still in high school?

Windy McThreesheets, Tuesday, 4 January 2005 00:19 (twenty years ago)

I like being a girl. I imagine that it would be hard to be a man...
-- Nowell (noelcollin...), January 3rd, 2005.

This was just an attempt to get some misguided man to mail you a picture of their dick wasn't it officer? How much are they paying you?
