Markelby (Mark C), Tuesday, 4 January 2005 14:25 (twenty-one years ago)

half price Avirex at Noir in Lewisham shopping centre - i was supposed to not buy anymore zip tops but couldn't resist this black one with fluorescent orange lining (think Netherlands football training top 2000)

Frankenstein On Ice (blueski), Tuesday, 4 January 2005 14:29 (twenty-one years ago)

I have been disappointed in the sales tbh. Or at least, the sale stuff I've been looking for i.e. a microwave! I did however manage to buy some very nicely priced trainers. Adidas decade hi for £20 (reduced from £60) & some Adidas Ontarios for £25 reduced from £60. The one jumper I want has not been reduced, grrrr!

PinXorchiXoR (Pinkpanther), Tuesday, 4 January 2005 14:29 (twenty-one years ago)

I spent too much on Christmas to take advantage of any sales now.

Leon the Fratboy (Ex Leon), Tuesday, 4 January 2005 14:33 (twenty-one years ago)

Pink, where is this?? I need to get me some Adidas shooz0rs - I know what size, I know what type, I'd be happy to get them online - I just need a sale!

Does anyone know what the HSBC sale is offering? a 25% cheaper mortgage is a pretty damn good deal if that's what it is.

Markelby (Mark C), Tuesday, 4 January 2005 14:34 (twenty-one years ago)

Nicole - buy Xmas presents for this December in the sales - then you get to shop AND save.

Markelby (Mark C), Tuesday, 4 January 2005 14:35 (twenty-one years ago)

Not too specific for the sales, but people SHOP AROUND. I gots me a Mini DV camera, finally got it for £250, with other shops selling for figures including £280, £300, £350, £380 and a mind-blowing £400!

i still have nothing from the sales. i haven't actually braved oxford st yet, though. should i be looking for beds in the sales (given that i need one), and if so, where?

toby (tsg20), Tuesday, 4 January 2005 14:45 (twenty-one years ago)

www.kelkoo.co.uk is your friend as far as online shopping goes

Frankenstein On Ice (blueski), Tuesday, 4 January 2005 14:46 (twenty-one years ago)

I need to do me some sale shoppin'. I need a new coat. And the eternal search for Boots That Suit Me is still on, sigh. I plan to do my usual wander around Selfridge's until my brain overloads or I find a bargain.

Also, tip for people who need a day planner for 2005 but don't yet have one: bookstores tend to put calendars on sale starting in Jan. and then reduce them drastically every week until all the stock sells out.

sgs (sgs), Tuesday, 4 January 2005 14:49 (twenty-one years ago)

they sell nice cheaper clothes now at Zara.

and also ikea give you a free meal worth £7.50 and 5% off next purchase if you open an account with them.

ken c (ken c), Tuesday, 4 January 2005 14:50 (twenty-one years ago)

Beds=Argos all the way, kiddo. Half price on loads of 'em.

Unless you want some actual quality kit, in which case, Habitat it is.

CharlieNo4 (Charlie), Tuesday, 4 January 2005 14:52 (twenty-one years ago)

I would like to get a new mattress in the sales. And jeans, where can I get nice sale jeans? The only place I've been clothes-wise yet is Monsoon looking for wedding type frocks but I can't get into the spirit of it really. I think I spent so much time in town shopping for presents before Xmas that the thought of buying more stuff already, esp when it's so busy and nasty, makes me feel ill. (Plus I may be a different dress size by the time of the wedding if exercise regime works.)

Archel (Archel), Tuesday, 4 January 2005 14:53 (twenty-one years ago)

I have tokens for H&M. Has anyone stepped inside our favourite Swedish Nindie retailer lately?

PS does H&M = the haircut nindie of shops?!

Starry (hello chickens), Tuesday, 4 January 2005 14:54 (twenty-one years ago)

I demand we all accept the magnificence of cheap Tesco clothes.

The decades were from Footlocker, but the otarios were from http://www.office.co.uk/

PinXorchiXoR (Pinkpanther), Tuesday, 4 January 2005 14:58 (twenty-one years ago)

i have £100 worth of capital bond vouchers to spend...

Frankenstein On Ice (blueski), Tuesday, 4 January 2005 15:00 (twenty-one years ago)

i have better luck at the h&m on kensington high street than at the picked-over oxford st ones, probably because i have different taste than the regular west london shoppers.

lauren (laurenp), Tuesday, 4 January 2005 15:00 (twenty-one years ago)

I got a really nic pair of Bally boots for half price and a grey ohair jumper in liberty.

Ed (dali), Tuesday, 4 January 2005 15:28 (twenty-one years ago)

That is a fair point, but I am not sure if my guts can cope with West London right now! Perhaps I will give it a go when I feel ADVENTUROUS?!

I want a red coat.

And red wellies.

Starry (hello chickens), Tuesday, 4 January 2005 15:43 (twenty-one years ago)

And some orange and ginger preserve.

Starry (hello chickens), Tuesday, 4 January 2005 15:45 (twenty-one years ago)

Am I Paddington Bear?

Starry (hello chickens), Tuesday, 4 January 2005 15:45 (twenty-one years ago)

I believe he had yellow wellies, so you're ok.

Archel (Archel), Tuesday, 4 January 2005 15:49 (twenty-one years ago)

Not that being Paddington Bear wouldn't be utterly cool, but I imagine it might be somewhat sticky. Also, wasn't his coat blue? Perhaps I mean I want to be Little Red Riding Hood.

Starry (hello chickens), Tuesday, 4 January 2005 15:50 (twenty-one years ago)

(Buffy wz her at Halloween!)

Starry (hello chickens), Tuesday, 4 January 2005 15:51 (twenty-one years ago)

Haha that makes it sound like I shoplifted it or something. I didn't.

Archel (Archel), Tuesday, 4 January 2005 15:55 (twenty-one years ago)

long acre h&m much preferable to ox circus one also. you can actually see the clothes rather than just being surrounded by thousands of PEOPLE.

i gots myself some YOUNG PERSONS SKATEBOARDING SHOES in the schuh sale, they are rather wide.

CarsmileSteve (CarsmileSteve), Tuesday, 4 January 2005 15:56 (twenty-one years ago)

Absolutely otm - avoid Oxford Circus branch at all costs and head downstairs on Long Acre - it's almost lovely, even on a weekend, and the changing rooms are nicer too.

CharlieNo4 (Charlie), Tuesday, 4 January 2005 16:00 (twenty-one years ago)

bluefly.com is having a sale on outerwear today, there's some real bargains on RED COATS, and the strong pound/weak dollar means you'd make out even with international shipping.

teeny (teeny), Tuesday, 4 January 2005 17:53 (twenty-one years ago)

I bought some half price cords. That's all.

jel -- (jel), Tuesday, 4 January 2005 17:54 (twenty-one years ago)

I got some new 'Das trainers. When are we going on that en masse January sales trip? I see no new London FAP threads, I'm thinking of going back to Ghana next week and I kinda miss you all I'm a shut-in.

Captain GRRRios' Giggletits (Barima), Tuesday, 4 January 2005 21:03 (twenty-one years ago)

I got a very nice coat the other day. It was £55 not in the sale and I didn't buy it, then went home and thought I should have bought it because it was nice. I went back to the shop the next day, and hurrah, it was in the sale for £30.

I also got a v nice top in Wallis yesterday which was marked as being £15. Then when I was standing in the queue with my £15 in my hand, I saw another label hidden inside it which said £7. Bargain! Then when the checkout person scanned it, she goes "that'll be £3 please". Double hurrah! So I went to a poncey pub with the change (and some people).

ailsa (ailsa), Tuesday, 4 January 2005 21:12 (twenty-one years ago)
