dogshit

I stepped in some yesterday. i am usually pretty good at avoiding it but yesterday i put my shoe down in a monster pile because it was dark out. I thought I'd done a pretty good job of getting it all off yet sitting here in my warm office I can smell, or at least think I can smell, the distinct fetid odor of canine dung wafting up from under my desk. Luckily I don't have to go to any meetings in closed rooms today. At lunchtime I will look for some puddles to stand in

How often to you step in dogshit? how do you get it off?

I used a popsicle stick and a plastic bag as well as some kitchen cleaner and water. APPARENTLY THIS WAS NOT GOOD ENOUGH.

I walk through wet grass. If that doesn't do it, I take a really long walk. Still stinky .. I leave the shoes on the porch for about three months.

Just go gently put your foot in the toilet water and smear it all over the bathroom floor for everyone to enjoy.

Where I live, it's -50 C today (that's -58 F) and so dogshit is the least of my worries. though come March, when the shit melts, and the shit that's been hidden under two feet of snow...

Michael White (Hereward), Tuesday, 4 January 2005 20:06 (twenty years ago)

a really horrible dogshit

I never thought of phrasing it this way but it seems to work.

kyle (akmonday), Tuesday, 4 January 2005 20:08 (twenty years ago)

this is why I fucking hate dogs. I never step in cat shit.

kyle (akmonday), Tuesday, 4 January 2005 20:10 (twenty years ago)

Cat shit is firmer in my experience.

Michael White (Hereward), Tuesday, 4 January 2005 20:11 (twenty years ago)

Cats generally try to cover their poop (in litter boxes, gardens, sandboxes, etc.)

tokyo rosemary (rosemary), Tuesday, 4 January 2005 20:53 (twenty years ago)

My old, senile, Manx cat (damn, i wrote plural. *sob*) often poop outside the box but it is an accident. they leave little hard turd trails of shame.

Meanwhile there is a huge, cute boxer at the end of the alley who regularly shits diarrhea minefields between our apartments and the parking lot. It's frightening. (I agree with the leave shoes on porch for 3 mths thing0

This is a good argument against feeding dogs "wet" dog food -- if a dog is under a diet of nothing but dry dog food and some occasional human food "treats", the dog will make these neat and tidy Tootsie Roll-like poops that harden after only a couple of days and that are relatively easy to pick up in case the dog decides to use the indoors as a potty. However, if a dog is fed "wet" dog food, the poops are considerably messier and, thus, harder to clean up.
