MacSolitaire is boot compared to the Casteel game. Go here, pay the ten bucks for Klondike, which also has Golf, Canfield and something called Racing Demons (that I've never played) in the preferences. It has replay, which MacSolitaire doesn't, so you can keep the same winning game going for days, gradually raising your score to the stratosphere, until you stupidly go command-n-n by accident and wish you were dead.

yah idk these dudes have scrn grabs and shit. theres a forum i v. occasionally look at where some dude had an INSANE win % and uploaded all the w/e files from windows because no one believed him. ive certainly been surprised by games that seemed outright dead where ive managed to clear the board. apparently a good player should be able to hit 50% which is my goal (lol zing) but that seems a long way away.
― Lamp, Saturday, 13 June 2009 20:02 (sixteen years ago)
Okay I must be a terrible player, I assumed it was impossible to win on most hands.
― Calling from a Balti Hotel (Noodle Vague), Saturday, 13 June 2009 20:03 (sixteen years ago)
i cant remember the breakdown but like ~20% are easy-ish wins then to get to ~30-35% u have to use some strategy and then beyond that u have to be really good at mapping and a little lucky.
the really frustrating thing in playing the older pre-vista modes is getting to one of the last deals and realizing that a seemingly neutral choice u made in fact closed the board against u. fukken game.

Over a period of several years I've achieved a fairish large sample size of completed games of solitaire - the plain vanilla Klondike version that is included with Windows 7. It appears that I'm near the theoretical maximum win percentage, but I'd like to check that against other results.
Anyone out there have a win percentage above 46.6% for more than 1000 games?
― Aimless, Thursday, 7 November 2013 05:39 (twelve years ago)
I'd have to check but I'm sure my Windows solitaire percentage is lower than that and I play draw one. I have better luck with the solitaire app on my phone, with draw three I win half the time.
Btw get the app "250+ solitaires free" if you're a solitaire fan...Great fun trying all the different varieties...I'm partial to Algerian Patience, like reverse Freecell.
