taking sides (health-wise): coke vs. coffee

although the former does nothing for me in the way that the latter does, is one more or less healthy for you? (i assume both are pretty shite, actually. i know coke is.) i never much thought about how my excessive coffee consumption was affecting my health (although the word excessive would probably be a tip off), but it can't be good. (he sez as he sips his 3rd 20 oz. of the day.)

jittery joe, Tuesday, 27 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

wheeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

(oh man, coming down...)

jess, Tuesday, 27 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

No-one ever burnt their mouth with coke.

Pete, Tuesday, 27 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Nobody ever claimed coffee was a contraceptive.

Ned Raggett, Tuesday, 27 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I'd have thought Coke is definitely worse for you. As much caffeine (unless you're drinking some foul Turkish brew) and all the sugar on top.

Nick, Tuesday, 27 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

lord, the thought of washing my cunt out with coffee made me laugh..though there was an article in the paper the other day about the healthy benefits of coffee enemas... coke sucks.

geoff, Tuesday, 27 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

You could always brew your coffee using coke instead of water. Double the caffeine, double the fun.

Nicole, Tuesday, 27 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

You haven't got a cunt, geoff. Enough with your cunt envy.

Nick, Tuesday, 27 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I don't appreciate what coffee does to my ringpiece.

Trevor, Tuesday, 27 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

You could always brew your coffee using coke instead of water. Double the caffeine, double the fun.

!!!!!!!!!!!!

nicole...i've never said this to anyone before...but will you marry me?

jess, Tuesday, 27 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

"Coke - the choice of a discerning colon."

Trevor, Tuesday, 27 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Coke might be dead sugary, but at least it doesn't make me feel nausesous and mess with my bowels in a very unpleasant way.

RickyT, Tuesday, 27 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

in the case of ricks bowels, that is definitely a plus.

katie, Tuesday, 27 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Coffee was never claimed to clean the rust off old tools/scissors.. Also, leave a bit of fresh meat in a recipient with coke for a couple of days.It VANISHES! Ugh.

Laetitia, Tuesday, 27 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

"Trouble with digestion? Coke eases congestion."

Trevor, Tuesday, 27 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Coke is an effective substitute for mouth wash. Coke does very evil things, but I like to view it more as a cleansing device. Like colonic irrigation, but less messy.

alix, Tuesday, 27 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

leave a bit of fresh meat in a recipient with coke for a couple of days. Everyone assumes you've gone insane!

Nick, Tuesday, 27 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

You just would be carrying out an independent survey, wouldn't you? That is the beginning of insanity,p'haps.

Laetitia, Tuesday, 27 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

studies have shown orange juice causes more toooth decay than coke because coke has phosphorus which remineralizes the tooth

Mike Hanle y, Tuesday, 27 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Coffee contains ANTI-OXIDANTS therefore = HEALTHY!!!

Coke contains nothing but sugar caffeine, and well... vegetable extracts. I mean, what the FUCK are vegetable extracts or whatever they claim?

kate, Tuesday, 27 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Coffee does not stay in my body long enough for anti-oxidants to be absorbed. It sweeps all before it in one long flatulent rush to the outside world, thus robbing my body of other vital nutrients. Therefore COFFEE = UNHEALTHY!

RickyT, Tuesday, 27 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Well, nothing more clearly vegetable-extracted than a cup of coffee. What about a good fix of heroine, then? Clearly, veggie-extracted

Laetitia, Tuesday, 27 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

mmm, heroin.

alix, Tuesday, 27 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Coke rocks. You can use it to clean acid off your car battery. yay coke. *slurp*

Samantha, Tuesday, 27 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

This seems like a good thread for my tooth theory. That being coke=toothpaste. If you eat stuff and let the plaque build up then drink just enough coke that it will acid-blitz the plaque but not the teeth you need never buy toothpaste again!!

I do not actually practise this. Honest.

Tom, Tuesday, 27 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

also in kewl cop movies the narco squad "test" quality of coke by deploying it as twere TOOTH POWDER!!

mark s, Tuesday, 27 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I prefer when they know the difference between heroin, cocaine and chalk via a taste test. Can I sign up for the training classes for that?

Ned Raggett, Tuesday, 27 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Num num chalk.

Tom, Tuesday, 27 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I took my first test on Pepsi vs Coke last Summer! It was so dead easy, as Pepsi is repulsive/sickly/aspartanish. Never did the chalk yet. I am afraid that they do not put up stalls in the middle of crowded open markets for that one.

Laetitia, Tuesday, 27 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Better Coke for caffeine than Mountain Dew. Aaaagh.

Maria, Tuesday, 27 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Coke = I feel woken up. Coffee = I actually am woken up.

Sterling Clover, Tuesday, 27 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I would choose coke. But then I wouldn't drink more than a can of coke in a day.

JEL, Tuesday, 27 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

one year passes...
That's not a bad slogan.

N. (nickdastoor), Friday, 23 May 2003 01:52 (twenty-two years ago)

jess (dubplatestyle), Friday, 23 May 2003 01:58 (twenty-two years ago)

electric sound of jim (electricsound), Friday, 23 May 2003 02:03 (twenty-two years ago)
