this is a children's book series from the fifties by photographer/author Dare Wright which I just heard about this morning on NPR. All I can say is Want. All. Now.

Does anyone own any of these books? Ever remember reading them?

I read these in first grade. After reading the recent piece on the books in the New York Times, my mom claimed to be surprised that there was a sexual subtext to these books, but please! I could tell that at age six.

Ha, me too. I was rather obsessed with them, I had them checked out of the library almost all of the time. I was hoping that with the recent Dare Wright bio that all of the books would go back into print, but sadly this hasn't been the case so far.
