Do you ever wake up in tears for no reason?

Went to bed at 11pm, exhausted. Woke up in tears at 1am. I was fucking sobbing.

I don't know why.

Thing is, I never cry.

I'm slightly disturbed about this. And I know it probably sounds pedestrian, but I really need to get this off my chest right now and this just seemed like the only place I could.

Anyway.

Maybe it's because you never cry?

roxymuzak (roxymuzak), Thursday, 6 January 2005 01:49 (twenty years ago)

Dreams can do this, I find. You might not recall the dream now but it could have been a real wringer.

Trayce (trayce), Thursday, 6 January 2005 01:49 (twenty years ago)

I guess both of those points are fairly valid.

DQ (danny quintana), Thursday, 6 January 2005 01:52 (twenty years ago)

Look on the bright side. There are far worse things you could have awoken while doing.

martin m. (mushrush), Thursday, 6 January 2005 01:54 (twenty years ago)

(My improper use of "awoken" just totally gives that last post an extra kick in the meaning department. I'm so totally done today. Time to go home from work and do something mindless.)

martin m. (mushrush), Thursday, 6 January 2005 01:55 (twenty years ago)

I dont wanna know what lurks under your bed martin!

Trayce (trayce), Thursday, 6 January 2005 01:56 (twenty years ago)

x-posr
Yeah, but Roxy's point ties in with yours a bit. You have wet dreams if you don't.......yeah.

Steely Zan (AaronHz), Thursday, 6 January 2005 01:58 (twenty years ago)

oh man i fucked up "x-post". I am king of all typos.

Steely Zan (AaronHz), Thursday, 6 January 2005 01:59 (twenty years ago)

Exactly.

ken c (ken c), Thursday, 6 January 2005 02:02 (twenty years ago)

dust elephants

Steely Zan (AaronHz), Thursday, 6 January 2005 02:02 (twenty years ago)

I don't even know what that means.

Steely Zan (AaronHz), Thursday, 6 January 2005 02:02 (twenty years ago)

Likewise, if you don't express your anger or otherwise "let out" your stress/negativity in the daytime, you will clench your teeth (or, as one friend of mine did, ATTEMPT TO EAT YOUR SHEETS and wake with a mouthful of soggy fabric) while asleep until your jaw is thoroughly fucked for life (welcome to my world).

xpost, we don't even know who you are.

roxymuzak (roxymuzak), Thursday, 6 January 2005 02:03 (twenty years ago)

is that why your teeth are all "foreign"?

Steely Zan (AaronHz), Thursday, 6 January 2005 02:05 (twenty years ago)

don't wake the dust elephants

oh my god i think this means i don't EAT enough during daytime!!

ken c (ken c), Thursday, 6 January 2005 03:47 (twenty years ago)

uh...what's the significance of bed-humping?

caitlin oh no (caitxa1), Thursday, 6 January 2005 03:51 (twenty years ago)

I wake up crying for good reason

LSTD (answer) (sexyDancer), Thursday, 6 January 2005 04:48 (twenty years ago)

I've only waken up twice crying in my life. Once it was a dream so otherworldly and beautiful, where I was in some kind of field that was covered in snow and snow-tipped pine trees that had the most gorgeous ice crystals I had ever seen, falling and crashing on the ground. I was trying to save them and realized it was too late and the beauty of the whole situation was too much for me to take.

The other was like, a week after who I thought was my true love broke up with me.

Anyways both of them felt amazingly good.

Adam Bruneau (oliver8bit), Thursday, 6 January 2005 07:10 (twenty years ago)

uh...what's the significance of bed-humping?

It means you need to come more, caitlin. BY ANY MEANS NECESSARY.

Steely Zan (AaronHz), Thursday, 6 January 2005 08:20 (twenty years ago)

I wake up crying occasionally, though mostly if I am already unwell and teary anyway. I don't imagine it's anything to worry about. Might be odd if you're sharing a bed with someone for the first time in a relationship, though.

Kevin Gilchrist (Mr Fusion), Thursday, 6 January 2005 08:47 (twenty years ago)

I knew a girl who was said to wake up screaming and running around the house. Bet that would make quite the impression...

xAARONHZx, EXTREME ILXOR LOOK ALL CAPS (AaronHz), Thursday, 6 January 2005 09:05 (twenty years ago)

NO.

youn, Thursday, 6 January 2005 10:58 (twenty years ago)

I think the tsunami tragedy has worked itself into your subconscious. This thread comes as a coincidence, because my hubby, who usually laughs in his sleep, was sobbing in his sleep last night. He doesn't remember having any sad dreams. I also dreamt about dead people.

-- Steely Zan

Haha, that's part of it!

roxysnagglezak (roxymuzak), Thursday, 6 January 2005 14:31 (twenty years ago)

What if you never wake up till 5 in the evening? Are you too alive?

Schwip Schwap (schwip schwap), Thursday, 6 January 2005 14:42 (twenty years ago)

I woke up the other day muttering to myself "you FUCK, you FUCK!" I don't know about this.

roxymuzak (roxymuzak), Thursday, 6 January 2005 14:45 (twenty years ago)

Do you?

Schwip Schwap (schwip schwap), Thursday, 6 January 2005 14:50 (twenty years ago)

I cried myself to sleep last night over a poor dead mouse. While I was thinking what a moron I was, I figured out that maybe it was a sort of Margaret Hoolihan thing. Remember that episode in M*A*S*H when somebody ran over the dog? Maybe its cathartic, considering all that's going on in south Asia, Iraq, etc...?

pepektheassassin (pepektheassassin), Thursday, 6 January 2005 21:03 (twenty years ago)

And don't forget, the reelection of George W Bush. That's enough to make you weep for the last four years as well as the next four...

pepektheassassin (pepektheassassin), Thursday, 6 January 2005 21:06 (twenty years ago)

perhaps extreme stress and anxiety?
