cutting edge tittilation

So I was watching flashdance last night, and with the exception of how sexy ms beals is it is a fairly empty little film. However I found myself strangely intreagued by the dancing scenes. My understanding of exotic dancing is that it is a rather stilted art form, certainly one must presume that new pole moves emerge every couple of years, but isn't challenging the audiance specifically omitted from the stripper's remit?
Their is one scene where beals is dressed as a mime, dancing under strobe lights against a checked background. This entirely sexless meditation on the stifeling nature of being institutionalised, or perhaps the prison of guilt fascinated me. Indeed the whole idea of a titty bar people go to where their are no naked breasts and everyone lears at what look like end of 1st year performing arts undergraduate shows just seems rediculouse.
But has my limited experience of stripjoints been missleading? Are some of them pressing at the bounderies of modern dance, do any of them force the punters to confront the subjectivity of their fantasy object?
p.s. happy new year everybody

do any of them force the punters to confront the subjectivity of their fantasy object?

Don't they all do this?

I thought the whole point was that the finatial transaction involved turned the unobtainable femail subject into an objectified and controlable agent who existed only to make semi real (no sex in the champagne room) the fantasys of the punter. Thus through the exchange of funds the punter who is surrounded by real female subjects in his ordinary life gets to controll and objectify in the fantasy world of the club. Surely the exposure of the dancers actual personhood would break the spell entirely.
