What is Kucinich doing?

(please say "the Achy-Breaky"!)

Let's see, Obama is mellower and easier on the eyes. Kucinich is more than a bit of a hippie & idealist, but he might have some interesting facts and talk about issues that mainstream politicians don't.

I'm all Obama'd out here in Illinois, I'd watch Kucinich.

Kucinich delivered an impassioned speech about his home state of Ohio's voter irregularities while simultaneously Obama spoke all cool about it. It was a tough choice but I picked DC. Now watching these Republicans be evil, dismissing the ten hour voter lines in urban Ohio as unsubstantiating rumor (and there's a war on terror going on!), is making for compelling television, otherwise a contradiction in terms.

Jesse Jackson Jr. is kicking my ass.

Lurkworth, Thursday, 6 January 2005 19:51 (twenty years ago)

Oh, he is a really good speaker - your opinions of his dad (positive or negative) aside. He was my congressman before I moved, I wish I still had him.

k3rry underneath the radiance isn't obama just another cynical centrist douche? i don't know, i'm asking.

John (jdahlem), Thursday, 6 January 2005 20:41 (twenty years ago)

Note on CSpan how all the callers are sketpical about the election. Do Republicans not watch CSpan? (that's a rhetorical question)

John, I'd classify Obama more as a Paul Simon-type Illinois liberal than as a centrist, based on his voting record, but he has worked hard to appeal to the 'center' in order to get elected. Who knows where he will fall as a senator - surely he'll be one of the most liberal there, I'm guessing.
