In an interview on news.com, Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates described free culture advocates as a "modern-day sort of communists." Well now.

What's that line about the worst enemies of capitalism?

not just free culture advocates but anyone who opposes stricter IP laws. He is all for preserving the business and cultural staus quo by raising the barrier to entry so high, software patents, DRM, etc. etc.

His PC crashed during his presentation as CES yesterday, which means even his own technology doesn't like him.

The errors - which came during what's usually an ode to Microsoft's dominance of the software industry and its increasing control of consumer electronics - prompted the celebrity host, NBC comedian Conan O'Brien, to quip, "Who's in charge of Microsoft, anyway?"
