Food Cravings The Weird and the Wonderful

I'm not pregnant, but recently I got a right strong craving for chips with chocolate sauce. Not any old chips but big fat chip shop numbers with vinegar.

I still haven't given in.

When I was younger I got up in the middle of the night and smothered a plastic cheese slice with maple syrup, it was delicious at the time, but the thought of it now makes me ill.

I also got a really strong craving for scrambled egg (which normally makes me heave) but by the time I got home it had passed.

Anyone else get odd uncharacteristic cravings? Anyone desire chalk or coal while pregnant? And are the chips a wise idea?

maybe without the vinegar.

I'm looking forward to interesting cravings when I do become pregnant. When my mum was expecting me she devoured roast chicken with whipped cream almost daily.

My mum developed cravings for smoked salmon and caviar while pregnant. This makes her quite clever, I think.

My wife, not normally a big fan of red meat, craved a big ol' steak a couple of days after learning she was pregnant. After that, the pregnancy settled into several months of craving fish sticks and asparagus.
