The truth is funnier. Lugner (who has never been called "Dickie" by anyone but the geek from the Sun who put the article together) is a famous-for-being-famous married building tycoon and nobody's idea of a playboy. He and his wife Mausi have a reality tv show a-la-the Osbournes, in which both of them play the part of Ozzie. He's been inviting stars and starlets to the Opernball for a long time now, and Ms. Halliwell is seen as conformation that the Lugners have fallen on financial hard times -- he's paid a lot more in the past for folks that people in Austria have actually heard of. No one is expected to "put out"; most of the time they look bored and freaked out by Lugner, and then leave early. Pamela Anderson brought along Kid Rock, who was not invited, and they spent the evening looking stoned and bored and kissing each other.

At the press conference in which Lugner's mystery date was announced, Legnar has said Geri's already being "difficult" about the whole thing despite the fact that a contract was signed with her months ago; as a result, he's in negotiations with a Plan B, whom he describes as "an Oscar winning actress".
