s: Bowling Ball Stacking
The most bowling balls stacked vertically without the aid of adhesives is 10, by David Kremer of Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA, on the set of Guinness World Records: Primetime, Los Angeles, on November 19, 1998. David is the executive director of a Roman Catholic order of brothers and priests.

d: anything that is like "the most people in the same place at once".. i mean.. where's the skill in that?? you just need to recruit enough people and then all do something for 10 seconds or something. in order for someone to "break" your "record" is for them to find one extra idiot to do something dumb for a while. lamest!

Best Display Of Mind Control
Master Dominick Giacobbe, from New Jersey, USA, earned the moniker "Mind Warrior" by putting two motorcycle spokes through each forearm, and suspending two 4.53kg (10lb) buckets of water from each spoke while clenching a 27.21kg (60lb) barbell between his teeth.

Hair Splitting
The greatest reported achievement in hair splitting has been that of Britains's Alfred West. who succeeded in splitting a human hair 17 times into 18 parts on eight occasions. All the divisions were made from the same point.

i worked for guinness world records for 6 months a couple of years ago. my favourite record was for the chicken that lived the longest after having its head cut off.

Coin Spinning
The longest time a coin has been spun until coming to a complete rest is 19.37 seconds. It was accomplished by Britain's Scott Day at Earl's Court, London, UK, as part of BBC TV's Tomorrow's World roadshow.

1. The coin should be spun on a smooth, flat surface measuring a maximum of 1 x 1 m (3 x 3 ft) which should be dry.

2. The coins to be used are 10p coins in Great Britain, 25¢ coins in the United States and, in other countries, coins weighing at least 0.21 oz or 6 g and having a maximum diameter of 2.5 cm or 1 in.

3. Any coin used must have a grooved edge and be offered for inspection to make sure it has not been tampered with.

4. The time starts when the coin starts spinning and stops when the coin comes to a complete rest.

5. An official timekeeper should be present thoughout the attempt.

6. Each participant is only allowed three attempts.

D this shit

A robot designed to look like a baby harp seal has received high marks at welfare facilities for the elderly and children in more than 20 countries due to its therapeutic effects, Japanese researchers say.

The Paro, developed by the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science And Technology in Tsukuba, has been recognised as the 'World's Most Therapeutic Robot' by the Guinness Book of World Records.

The 57-centimetre Paro, covered with soft artificial fur, behaves in cuddly fashion on being caressed.

It responds to people's actions and words in a range of ways depending on what action they take toward it, such as stroking and talking to it.

The 2.7 kilogram Paro moves its head and flippers, making sounds and mimicking the voice of a baby seal, according to Takanori Shibata, a senior researcher at the Government-backed research institute.

Clearly a vibrator is not a 'therapeutic robot' then.

Is your proposal a potential Guinness World Records achievement?

We are unable to consider claims relating to jam sessions or improvisation as it is impossible to ensure the musical proficiency and quality of such performances.

does this mean there's no record for longest guitar solo? fucking fascists!

noting michael jackson's quote today, on Rod Temperton's passing, I had to look it up

"I’ve always wanted to do great things and achieve many things, but for the first time in my entire career, I feel like I have accomplished something because I’m in The Guinness Book Of Records!“ -Michael on 7th Feb 1984

four years pass...

I knew Ross McWhirter was assassinated by the IRA and that he and his brother were a pair of odious right wing ghouls. What I didn't know was that he'd offered £50,000 of his own money for information leading to the capture of what turned out to be the Balcombe Street Gang, and that two of them promptly turned up on his doorstep and shot him in the head.

Soundtracked by an eco jazz mixtape. (Tom D.), Tuesday, 17 August 2021 07:33 (four years ago)

shot through the head and the chest with a 357 magnum. I'd like to think they quoted the famous Dirty Harry line in an Irish accent before pulling the trigger!

calzino, Tuesday, 17 August 2021 09:28 (four years ago)

I like to think Ross quoted them some obscure but deeply fascinating fact or stat about the Magnum just before they whacked him.

"Bobby Gillespie" (ft. Heroin) (Tom D.), Tuesday, 17 August 2021 10:51 (four years ago)

reading his wiki reveals he was a wretched piece of shit that deserved to die.

calzino, Tuesday, 17 August 2021 10:56 (four years ago)

As I said, him and his brother were vile.

"Bobby Gillespie" (ft. Heroin) (Tom D.), Tuesday, 17 August 2021 11:02 (four years ago)

it's like think of the most horribly fucking tory cunt you can think of and then imagine they were split into two identical twins
