someone i think i know has left harrassing messages on my blogs comments for about 3 weeks now, stupid things, and i suspect that he is someone i know, but i dont know who he is, but i would like to ban him or at least isp trace his account...anyone know how to do this ?

Assuming you know their IP address you could use a site like http://www.arin.net/whois/ to find out their ISP and possibly their general location.

Maybe you already knew that...

You could use something like Statcounter (it's free) to track the visitors to your blog. I think it allows you to see IP's -- it will definitely show you what city they're in.

but i dont like doing that, how do i catch there ip number, how do i work stats counter ?
i use blogspot.

anthony, go to sitemeter.com and install a counter. this will keep a running tally of visits to your website. the next time jim comments, you should be able to cross reference the time of his entry with your sitemeter log file and (hopefully) suss out his ip address from there.

I'm glad somebody knew, cause I asked what you were using even though I don't know how to check the IP of a commenter on anything but movable type (where it is a feature built into the software).
