How attractive are the people you work with?

I work in an office with 75+ other people, none of them I consider attractive. Maybe this is a good thing as I’d spend the whole day ogling.

My boss is very attractive. I'm probably the next most attractive person in the office, I waste a lot of time ogling myself.

Avoid mirrors - you'll get more work done

caitlin (caitlin), Friday, 4 February 2005 13:43 (twenty years ago)

I work with about 30 people. There is one who I'd say is very attractive (the Office Crush, natch) and maybe four or five who are fairly attractive.

caitlin (caitlin), Friday, 4 February 2005 13:43 (twenty years ago)

My boss is married to a guy who looks like a cross between Sidney Poitier and Harry Belafonte, except more handsome - so no hope for me

Dadaismus (Dada), Friday, 4 February 2005 13:45 (twenty years ago)

Well I don't fancy any of them so to me the answer is no, that includes me too.

Ste (Fuzzy), Friday, 4 February 2005 13:49 (twenty years ago)

i meant 'not very attractive'

Ste (Fuzzy), Friday, 4 February 2005 13:49 (twenty years ago)

When i started here, i was hoping for lots of pleasing to the eye females. Imagine my disappointment at what I saw, loads of grumpy frustrated housewives. Pffft.

lucifer, Friday, 4 February 2005 13:51 (twenty years ago)

it's all men here - around 15 of us. a couple are okay, more than me i mean. the rest are OLD.

Alienus Quam Reproba (blueski), Friday, 4 February 2005 13:56 (twenty years ago)

The woman who sits over the partition from me looks and sounds exactly like Alice off The Vicar Of Dibley. I suppose whether that's attractive or not is down to the individual.

aldo_cowpat (aldo_cowpat), Friday, 4 February 2005 13:57 (twenty years ago)

It's undoubtebly a good thing that I don't find any of them attractive, for their sake.

Ste (Fuzzy), Friday, 4 February 2005 13:58 (twenty years ago)

A list of people on my team (the names have not been changed because none of them are innocent) and how I rate them attrictivness-wise:

Dave: A new temp, and quite a good-lookin' chap, even if he does have strange hair.
Nia: My boss. 26 yrs old. Impiricly attractive I suppose, but not my cup of tea.
Jessica: 19yr old blonde. Really attractive, and I keep having to tear my eyes away from looking at her arse, which is magnificent.
Steven: Fat northerner. Not at all attractive, bless him.
Alan: 29yr old. His lisp doesw him no favoursa, but I suppose with a harcut her could be considered quite dashing.
Michelle: Some of the best legs IN THE WORLD, but not exactly attractive either.
Kerry: See, she fits all the requirements of being attractive, but somehow it doesn't gel, and I have no idea why.

Johnney B (Johnney B), Friday, 4 February 2005 14:08 (twenty years ago)

I do realise that making this list makes me a bad person, but heh.

Johnney B (Johnney B), Friday, 4 February 2005 14:09 (twenty years ago)

None of them other than the girl I obsessed over for six months. Fortunately I no longer do so.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Friday, 4 February 2005 14:14 (twenty years ago)

also have any of you made the mistake of dating a fellow worker? i did twice, have learnt my lesson though. week & weeks of cold shoulders & awkwardness, not good times.

lucifer, Friday, 4 February 2005 14:55 (twenty years ago)

I snogged a co-worker once. The next day we just acted like we never had met, and all was well.

Johnney B (Johnney B), Friday, 4 February 2005 14:57 (twenty years ago)

They are all hideous.
It really makes stumbling through that door, half an hour late, every morning very tough.

Thermo Thinwall (Thermo Thinwall), Friday, 4 February 2005 15:02 (twenty years ago)

My wife and I used to work in the same building, and she was the best-looking person in the place. Since then, all the other good-looking people have left as well.

The Obligatory Sourpuss (Begs2Differ), Friday, 4 February 2005 15:12 (twenty years ago)

there was one girl who was so amazingly cute here, but she left a few months ago. she had a really silly laugh.

ken c (ken c), Friday, 4 February 2005 15:16 (twenty years ago)

she was the only one who was more attractive than i was. now i'm the eye candy of the place

ken c (ken c), Friday, 4 February 2005 15:16 (twenty years ago)

I don’t think I could cope with working with someone who I was seeing out of work or living with, I like my own space too much.

lucifer, Friday, 4 February 2005 15:17 (twenty years ago)

I only work with two people, and one's in her forties, and the other's in his fifties. No sexy thoughts ever.

Pears can just fuck right off. (kenan), Friday, 4 February 2005 15:19 (twenty years ago)

the closest to intimacy with a work person was this time somehow i ended up holding hands with this girl a year ago. that was really weird.

ken c (ken c), Friday, 4 February 2005 15:19 (twenty years ago)

There are 12 people in the department and one of them is cute in a small way and she does her hair nice. The others are 40s/50s meh but I get on with them all well, with the exception of the office manager, whose idiocy is beyond belief.

Madchen (Madchen), Friday, 4 February 2005 15:20 (twenty years ago)

my office is good looking

pete b. (pete b.), Friday, 4 February 2005 15:49 (twenty years ago)

Does it have sexy doors and windows?

caitlin (caitlin), Friday, 4 February 2005 15:52 (twenty years ago)

Pears, do you live with Neil Morrissey too?

Ste (Fuzzy), Friday, 4 February 2005 15:53 (twenty years ago)

also have any of you made the mistake of dating a fellow worker?

yeah--one right after another. um, awkward.

mookieproof (mookieproof), Friday, 4 February 2005 15:54 (twenty years ago)

Fairly attractive, as most art school people are (the students, too) but thankfully most of them are gay, so it's not a distraction.

Yr3k (dymaxia), Friday, 4 February 2005 15:58 (twenty years ago)

I fint all my ten-or-so closest co-workers lovely and good-looking, in a sibling kind of way.

Hanna (Hanna), Friday, 4 February 2005 15:59 (twenty years ago)

The people I work directly with aren't attractive at all (bird of a feather flock together?), but there is some real talent down the hall -- especially in the PR department.

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Friday, 4 February 2005 16:28 (twenty years ago)

This answer was very different when I was in the USAF. Right now, uh, not so much, unless you think 40something dudes with post-military beards and pasty, skinny twentysomething office schlubs are hot.

When I was on active duty, though, it was kind of like I was part of a boy band. Constantly. Except for the occasional atrociously bad haircut.

TOMBOT, Friday, 4 February 2005 16:32 (twenty years ago)

None of the ppl in my dept are esp hot. Kind of a relief -- my last one set a record for nice-to-foxy hetero guys.

Dr Morbius (Dr Morbius), Friday, 4 February 2005 16:39 (twenty years ago)

At my last one I'd say about 75% of the office was moderately to extremely attractive but that was entirely because of discriminatory hiring practices against ugly people that they were quite open about.

Allyzay Dallas Multi-Pass (allyzay), Friday, 4 February 2005 16:40 (twenty years ago)

there is some real talent down the hall -- especially in the PR department.

When a team from our PR company last visited, there was something about the junior account manager that made me go "ooh" somewhat.

caitlin (caitlin), Friday, 4 February 2005 16:41 (twenty years ago)

I work with fashion people. There are very many attractive people. They hire good looking interns in order to use them as models for clothes and shit.

Jimmy Mod always makes friends with women before bedding them down (ModJ), Friday, 4 February 2005 17:23 (twenty years ago)

hah ally's story applies here. the guy whose in charge of hiring new associates clearly bases part of his decision to hire females on looks. this one secretary decided to bring up the fact that theres a bunch of attractive young people who work in the office and got all worked up about it. it was probably the second most uncomfortable Ive ever felt at a work function..

Dude, are you a 15 year old asian chick? (jingleberries), Friday, 4 February 2005 17:57 (twenty years ago)
