elwisty (elwisty), Friday, 4 February 2005 19:17 (twenty-one years ago)

I really hope the Parrot Sketch kicks Little Britain's sorry arse.

Nick H (Nick H), Friday, 4 February 2005 20:46 (twenty-one years ago)

I hope the Two Ronnies kick both (all) of their sorry arses.

ailsa (ailsa), Friday, 4 February 2005 20:49 (twenty-one years ago)

22. The Fast Show - Ted and Ralph
23. The Fast Show - Monkfish
24. The Fast Show - Swiss Toni
25. The Fast Show - Suits You Sir
26. The Fast Show - Colin Hunt (Office Joker)
27. The Fast Show - Roy and Renee

Way to go on picking three of the worst Fast Show sketches as well. Where's "Indie Club"?

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Friday, 4 February 2005 20:49 (twenty-one years ago)

87. The Two Ronnies - Four Candles

If this doesn't win I'm leaving the country.

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Friday, 4 February 2005 20:50 (twenty-one years ago)

And they've missed out the best League of Gentlemen sketch. "Have any body got bottle a orange juice!"

accentmonkey (accentmonkey), Friday, 4 February 2005 22:53 (twenty-one years ago)

Actually there's one tonight - 100 Greatest pop videos. Not a repeat, apparently.

Masked Gazza, Sunday, 6 February 2005 04:53 (twenty-one years ago)

When they say not a repeat, they mean footage not shown in this particular order before.

noodle vague (noodle vague), Sunday, 6 February 2005 05:09 (twenty-one years ago)

I can\t help thinking that jimmy carr is some collective punishment meated out on us for some serious past collective misdemeanor.

Ed (dali), Sunday, 6 February 2005 20:34 (twenty-one years ago)

We get the TV presenters we deserve.

caitlin (caitlin), Sunday, 6 February 2005 20:36 (twenty-one years ago)

Is he that bad?

I saw him at the Edinburgh Festival a couple of years ago by accident and he was the funniest guy on (a load of comedians were on). I can't stand Tony Slattery either.

KeithW (kmw), Sunday, 6 February 2005 21:00 (twenty-one years ago)

To be honest, he's probably a better TV presenter than I could ever be myself; so maybe I shouldn't criticise.

caitlin (caitlin), Sunday, 6 February 2005 21:04 (twenty-one years ago)

i think it his ubiquity and also his one-trick-ponyness that is annoying. his list stuff can hardly engorge his creative synapses, can it?

CarsmileSteve (CarsmileSteve), Sunday, 6 February 2005 21:07 (twenty-one years ago)

his constant bland bemusedness at anything and everything must be *exhausting*. he has some funny lines and his schtik, while unoriginal, is well done, but so simple a trick will get burnt out very soon. he seems to be C4's only non-T4 presenter.

ooh! sophie harris was on the top 100 videos thang! yay!

stevie (stevie), Sunday, 6 February 2005 21:22 (twenty-one years ago)

Dear Jimmy Carr, please can you say "We'll be back after the break" one more time. Please.

Jaunty Alan (Alan), Sunday, 6 February 2005 21:50 (twenty-one years ago)

the cure = "conference league joy division", haha

Masked Gazza, Sunday, 6 February 2005 21:57 (twenty-one years ago)

"Hellooo fantastic Fans, I'm the Aphex Twin!!!"

mark grout (mark grout), Monday, 7 February 2005 08:52 (twenty-one years ago)

Petridish has been eating well, I see.

Miles Finch, Monday, 7 February 2005 09:56 (twenty-one years ago)

Saw a bit of that 100 Best Pop Videos thing. About So Solid Crew, Mr Carr commented that they shouldn't have been worried about getting a bad name as by calling themselves Megaman, Oxide, Neutrino and Romeo they already had given themselves bad names. I wonder if he is appearing at any B*P election rallies.

Marcello Carlin, Monday, 7 February 2005 10:00 (twenty-one years ago)

nine months pass...
He presented the Top 50 Comedians voted for by other comedians last night. I fucking hate him. What is the point of Jimmy Carr anyway? His act seems to be based on him being a smug twat who tells really unfunny jokes. Who likes this shit? Why is he on everything? I can only presume a deal with Satan is behind this.

Colonel Poo (Colonel Poo), Sunday, 4 December 2005 12:24 (twenty years ago)

See, as Keith said upthread, he's not the worst stand-up comedian in the world, he's actually quite funny. What is not funny is his total over-exposure by Channel 4. His bubble will burst soon (see also other "personalities" that the powers that be decide we all like even though no-one actually does, e.g. Linda Barker, Natasha Kaplinsky, Vernon Kaye, Vernon Kaye's missus, Kerry Katona/McFadden etc etc)

ailsa (ailsa), Sunday, 4 December 2005 12:31 (twenty years ago)

If he's such a funny stand-up comedian, why is he routinely awful on every TV show he's on? It is the overexposure that is inspiring such intense hatred on my part, of course.

Colonel Poo (Colonel Poo), Sunday, 4 December 2005 12:39 (twenty years ago)

Sorry, *I* find him funny. This, obviously, doesn't mean everyone else does as all. My apologies for not making that clear. As a TV presenter, he is shit though.

ailsa (ailsa), Sunday, 4 December 2005 12:47 (twenty years ago)

Jimmy Carr and Mark Lamarr are the same person. The same annoying twat.

Ronan (Ronan), Sunday, 4 December 2005 13:59 (twenty years ago)

The "Comedians Comedian" for once was a good list. Other lists I felt they left out some major detail. Oh, and the interviews at least from people who cared. And in some cases, hated the nominees (e.g. Charlie Chaplin)

Carr: "Dawn French is great, which is unusual for me as I usually hate things that Lenny Henry's been in"

mark grout (mark grout), Monday, 5 December 2005 11:06 (twenty years ago)

see, that's not terribly funny.

Theorry Henry (Enrique), Monday, 5 December 2005 11:25 (twenty years ago)
