Ever want to just cry?

Oh, wow, a serious thread. Let's see you all screw it up instead of being nice eh?

C-Man (C-Man), Monday, 7 February 2005 14:14 (twenty-one years ago)

as you wish...

Alienus Quam Reproba (blueski), Monday, 7 February 2005 14:16 (twenty-one years ago)

I hate circumstances!

TOMBOT, Monday, 7 February 2005 14:27 (twenty-one years ago)

what are the circumstances, calum?

weasel diesel (K1l14n), Monday, 7 February 2005 14:34 (twenty-one years ago)

She doesn't exist and it's affecting their sex life.

Ronan (Ronan), Monday, 7 February 2005 14:34 (twenty-one years ago)

she's stuck in the tv.

oskar shindig! (Jody Beth Rosen), Monday, 7 February 2005 14:36 (twenty-one years ago)

Circumstances are there to be risen against.

What happen/ing?

mark grout (mark grout), Monday, 7 February 2005 14:36 (twenty-one years ago)

Leakage'll do that.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Monday, 7 February 2005 14:38 (twenty-one years ago)

I love my girlfriend so damn much but circumstances are working against us

Rod has to tour man

Masked Gazza, Monday, 7 February 2005 14:38 (twenty-one years ago)

WHAT ARE THE CIRCUMSTANCES? By all means be vague, but w/o some idea of what the circumstances are...?

Pashmina (Pashmina), Monday, 7 February 2005 14:43 (twenty-one years ago)

.. otherwise it's a comedy forum.

mark grout (mark grout), Monday, 7 February 2005 14:44 (twenty-one years ago)

she's stuck in the tv.

Obv solution: go out with evil Japanese spirits trapped down wells.

caitlin (caitlin), Monday, 7 February 2005 14:45 (twenty-one years ago)

Q: why did the girlfriend cross the road?

A: Circumstances beyond her control

Hari A$hur$t (Toaster), Monday, 7 February 2005 14:46 (twenty-one years ago)

Distance. She's just quit her job, whereupon she was at least close enough to see me at weekends, to go home. Things have been difficult for ages due to distance - me abroad or whatever you know?

C-Man (C-Man), Monday, 7 February 2005 14:47 (twenty-one years ago)

You can still talk on AIM though right?

Hari A$hur$t (Toaster), Monday, 7 February 2005 14:48 (twenty-one years ago)

Once you find out the circumstances
Then you can uh go out, whoa yeah

Once you find out the circumstances
Then you can uh go out, whoa yeah

Little girl don't you know that the stars up above are runnin' on love
Little girl don't you know that they're blinkin' at you
Now the sun can sun burn you but
Not as bad as those old people do, yeah

Ah once you find out the circumstances
Then you can uh go out, whoa yeah

Little girl don't you know that the stars up above are runnin' on love
Little girl don't you know that uh they're blinkin' at you
Now the sun can sun burn you but
Not as bad as those o-o-o-old people do, yeah ha ha ha

Ah once you once you find out the circumstances
Then you then you then you then yo-u-u-u-u can go out, ah yeah

You can go o-o-o-out

Don Van Vliet, Monday, 7 February 2005 14:48 (twenty-one years ago)

you seem more and more like robbie savage, calum.

weasel diesel (K1l14n), Monday, 7 February 2005 14:48 (twenty-one years ago)

You just need more money. Bitchez love money.

Leon the Fatboy (Ex Leon), Monday, 7 February 2005 14:49 (twenty-one years ago)

Lots and lots of money. Cars too.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Monday, 7 February 2005 14:49 (twenty-one years ago)

Maybe a milkcart too.

Hari A$hur$t (Toaster), Monday, 7 February 2005 14:50 (twenty-one years ago)

Can you not wangle it so that she can travel w/you in some sort of official capacity when you're abroad? Do you absolutely need to be where you are?

Pashmina (Pashmina), Monday, 7 February 2005 14:51 (twenty-one years ago)

ILE is helpful

Alienus Quam Reproba (blueski), Monday, 7 February 2005 14:52 (twenty-one years ago)

It's extremely helpful!

Ned Raggett (Ned), Monday, 7 February 2005 14:53 (twenty-one years ago)

When I met Dawn, she lived 303 miles from my door. The rest you know.

mark grout (mark grout), Monday, 7 February 2005 14:54 (twenty-one years ago)

"When the air valve's fucked, and your girlfriend's gone,
Who you gonna call?"

Penelope_111 (Penelope_111), Monday, 7 February 2005 14:54 (twenty-one years ago)

ILE has turned every other cheek on it's body

Alienus Quam Reproba (blueski), Monday, 7 February 2005 14:55 (twenty-one years ago)

The only thing I can suggest is talk to her about where you both want to be in, what? 2yrs? 5 yrs? How can you get there together, if you both want to be together, whilst doing the other stuff you both want/need to do. Make a plan. Sorry, that's all I've got.

Pashmina (Pashmina), Monday, 7 February 2005 14:55 (twenty-one years ago)

If by 'circumstances' you mean 'restraining order', I'd leave this dame well alone.

Miles Finch, Monday, 7 February 2005 14:57 (twenty-one years ago)

Helping is the new insulting

Alienus Quam Reproba (blueski), Monday, 7 February 2005 14:59 (twenty-one years ago)

Ever just want a normal relationship - living together, the sort of shit others seem to have? I dunno - after so long I still love her madly but this is hard.

C-Man (C-Man), Monday, 7 February 2005 15:10 (twenty-one years ago)

Get off here Alienus Quam Reproba ;)

A Maverick (alix), Monday, 7 February 2005 15:15 (twenty-one years ago)

where do you guys live respectively?

ken c (ken c), Monday, 7 February 2005 15:16 (twenty-one years ago)

Distance is the most convenient circumstance for people who don't really want to be in a relationship any more. It's the least difficult circumstance to deal with if you really want to be together.

Ever just want a normal relationship - living together, the sort of shit others seem to have?

I'm sure I don't have a clue what you're talking about.

TOMBOT, Monday, 7 February 2005 15:26 (twenty-one years ago)

A boy alone, so far from home,
Endless rooftops from my window.
I felt the gloom of empty rooms
On rainy afternoons.
Sometimes, in confusion,
I felt so lost and disillusioned,
Innocence gave me confidence
To go up against reality.
All the same, we take our chances,
Laughed at by Time,
Tricked by Circumstances.
Plus ca change,
Plus c'est la meme chose,
The more that things change,
The more they stay the same.
Now I've gained some understanding
Of the only world that we see.
Things that I once dreamed of
Have become reality.
These walls that still surround me
Still contain the same old me,
Just one more who's searching for a world that ought to be.

helpful hal, Monday, 7 February 2005 15:56 (twenty-one years ago)

Distance be cock-blocking c-man!

Thermo Thinwall (Thermo Thinwall), Monday, 7 February 2005 16:04 (twenty-one years ago)

Is it possible to cock-block yourself, or is there another word for that?

Pears can just fuck right off. (kenan), Monday, 7 February 2005 16:06 (twenty-one years ago)

autocockblock

Jarlr'mai (jarlrmai), Monday, 7 February 2005 16:11 (twenty-one years ago)

Distance is the most convenient circumstance for people who don't really want to be in a relationship any more. It's the least difficult circumstance to deal with if you really want to be together.

i think sometimes it depends on the distance and the circumstance

ken c (ken c), Monday, 7 February 2005 16:14 (twenty-one years ago)

Now she's left her job we're at opposite sides of the country. I really really do not know if I could ever be the same with anyone else. It's like when someone means more to you than you can put in words you know?

mookieproof (mookieproof), Monday, 7 February 2005 21:35 (twenty-one years ago)

I was blue and lonely, I couldn’t sleep a wink
And I could only get unconscious if I’d had to much to drink
There was somehow, something wrong somewhere
And each day seemed grey and dead
The seeds of desperation were growing in my head
I needed inspiration, a brand new start in life
Somewhere to place affection, but I didn’t want a wife
And then by lucky chance I saw in a special magazine
An ad that was unusual, the like I’d never seen
Experience something different with our new imported toy
She’s loving, warm, inflatible and a guarantee of joy.
She came all wrapped in cardboard, all pink and shrivelled down
A breath of air was all she needed to make her lose that frown
I took her to the bedroom and pumped her with some life
And later in a moment that girl became my wife
And so I sit her in the corner and sometimes stroke her hair
And when I’m feeling naughty I blow her up with air
She’s cuddly and she’s bouncy, she’s like a rubber ball
I bounce her in the kitchen and I bounce her in the hall
And now my life is different since sally came my way
I wake up in the morning and have her on a tray
She’s everything they say she was and I wear a permanent grin
And I only have to worry in case my girl wears thin

Ned Raggett (Ned), Monday, 7 February 2005 21:36 (twenty-one years ago)

Thanks Ned, clear to see you're a bit below human.

C-Man (C-Man), Monday, 7 February 2005 21:36 (twenty-one years ago)

CRWNED.

Krankenhaus, Monday, 7 February 2005 21:38 (twenty-one years ago)

oh look who needs a shoulder to whimper on! haha you pathetic hateful piece of shit.

ans: get into the same cell phone plan, make plans for travel later, do things to keep up contact, send her flowers, have shit from amazon delivered to her, send pix via gmail or flickr, USE YOUR FUCKING HEAD MAN.

oh and DE NADA for being a forum that will give you the goods on this subject, unlike all those OTHER fora where people know all about cinema and how to agree with you about it. didn't have any luck there, did you?

f--gg (gcannon), Monday, 7 February 2005 21:42 (twenty-one years ago)

Well, fair dos.

C-Man (C-Man), Monday, 7 February 2005 21:46 (twenty-one years ago)

if calum's long-distance love affair with ILE can last this long and weather this much damage then i'm sure same with the lucky lady can too

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Monday, 7 February 2005 22:51 (twenty-one years ago)

Also, I hate to be smug and Australian here mate but if "other side of country" is opposite sides of wee scotland, wheres the prob? It cant be more than a few hours drive. Thats an easy one to get past. Ive dated guys who lived further away and saw them every weekend. We're used to it down here lad.

(ps that was actually a pretty serious ans)

Trayce (trayce), Monday, 7 February 2005 22:52 (twenty-one years ago)

Other side of UK.

C-Man (C-Man), Monday, 7 February 2005 22:56 (twenty-one years ago)

eman (eman), Monday, 7 February 2005 23:03 (twenty-one years ago)

Sorry to hear that Calum. I hope it works out.

KeithW (kmw), Monday, 7 February 2005 23:50 (twenty-one years ago)

other side of UK is nothing. please, dont wimper and complain about 400 miles. 400 miles is nothing. if you cant make 400 miles work ith someone you supposedly feel this strongly about, then i really dont know what to suggest

charltonlido (gareth), Tuesday, 8 February 2005 10:56 (twenty-one years ago)

well, doing this 'blind' (ie i really don't have much sympathy) 400miles is a long way--you can't really do lots of things if you are 400miles apart. it's a blunt fact that you won't be spending much time together.

Miles Finch, Tuesday, 8 February 2005 11:03 (twenty-one years ago)

Apart from the entirety of every weekend...? How much time would they be spending together in the week anyway, given work?

Liz :x (Liz :x), Tuesday, 8 February 2005 11:09 (twenty-one years ago)

i dunno, its like, if it was her having the issues and stuff, i'd have some kind of sympathy, it can be hard dealing with it when its the other person getting cold feet, but, this? cant help feeling its another wacky thread, you know?

if its for real, well. pack your crappy job in and go home! take a look at your job, and where you live right now? is it really that good? worth losing her over?. i dont really see the problem, either go home, or stop having a heart attack over a poxy train journey on a friday night every other weekend

charltonlido (gareth), Tuesday, 8 February 2005 11:21 (twenty-one years ago)

You could always move, Calum. Its not that you have a job that's keeping you where you are.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Tuesday, 8 February 2005 11:23 (twenty-one years ago)

sorry if this is all for real, i just dont really have that much patience for this kind of stuff anymore. im sure it'll work out, whatever you do

charltonlido (gareth), Tuesday, 8 February 2005 11:23 (twenty-one years ago)

(ack, xpost)

Matt DC (Matt DC), Tuesday, 8 February 2005 11:23 (twenty-one years ago)

Go and move to BLOCKOLAND!

Marcello Carlin, Tuesday, 8 February 2005 11:42 (twenty-one years ago)

Haha "CRWNED"!

Plus, Nicole - oof, COLD!!

My dear wife read this thread last night and she was like "why are you being nice to calum ffs? Tell him to buy a realdoll ha ha". Nevertheless, Tombot and f--gg's advice seems good to me.

Pashmina (Pashmina), Tuesday, 8 February 2005 12:14 (twenty-one years ago)

CRWNED = CRW + NED

!

Masked Gazza, Tuesday, 8 February 2005 12:16 (twenty-one years ago)

Why? Cuz we've been there (well, I have) and hey you just have to want it to work. That's all.

mark grout (mark grout), Tuesday, 8 February 2005 12:17 (twenty-one years ago)

Well yes, exactly, but my dear wife doesn't suffer fools gladly, so to speak.

Pashmina (Pashmina), Tuesday, 8 February 2005 12:19 (twenty-one years ago)

i like that your wife knows all about the ILX shenanigans.

Alienus Quam Reproba (blueski), Tuesday, 8 February 2005 12:21 (twenty-one years ago)

I think she's posted here twice. She thinks it's funny, but interweb mentalist communities aren't really her thing.

Pashmina (Pashmina), Tuesday, 8 February 2005 12:22 (twenty-one years ago)

the coach is really cheap and convenient for going to far away places in the same country, not seperated by a body of water, over night on a friday.

ken c (ken c), Tuesday, 8 February 2005 12:23 (twenty-one years ago)

it's not like you have to worry about visa applications.

but then again if she lives in london..... can your love overcome your fear of the smoke?????

ken c (ken c), Tuesday, 8 February 2005 12:25 (twenty-one years ago)

This is absolutely true. In the eighties and early nineties, I used to daytrip to London on the overnight nat'l express coach every few weeks, it was so cheap that I could afford it even though I was on the dole!

Pashmina (Pashmina), Tuesday, 8 February 2005 12:26 (twenty-one years ago)

ken c you must use the term "crwned" at every available oppurtunity.

Pashmina (Pashmina), Tuesday, 8 February 2005 12:27 (twenty-one years ago)

is Calum dating an Essex sort?

Alienus Quam Reproba (blueski), Tuesday, 8 February 2005 12:30 (twenty-one years ago)

Maybe they're even further apart - she might be in Darkest Cornwall

caitlin (caitlin), Tuesday, 8 February 2005 12:31 (twenty-one years ago)
